I see a lot of people spelling the characters names differently, and most of all the english content there is has the english spelling deriving from the actual japanese form of the names, like "Syumitaro" instead of "Shumitaro/Shumitarou". Do you have an explanation why these changes are made? I'd be glad to hear it. 😊
It’s the canon names, well exceptions for some characters, but I think it’s because it generally just sounds better. I’m just following what most people want. And I just accidentally typed Azukin instead of Adukin.
the japanese alphabet doesn't have the letter "y" so they use substitutes for it with fonetic approximations. the most close sound to "y" is "shu", the "u" at the end is because the correct romaji of the name is "shumitarō", the line over the "o" means that the letter repeats or has an "u" afterwards, now the reason why for that idk I'm not an expert in japanese and barely speak it too
