Batista late 05-07 was a different beast, after 08-10 is wen they didn’t utilize him correctly anymore and that sucked to see bc he was definitely still a top tier champ. The guy was amazing to see and I’m happy I got to witness his title reigns!
I was actually there at WM21 when he beat HHH for the title, as well as their Hell in a Cell match at Vengeance.. I was sitting right next to Batista's wife. It was so cool being there live for both those matches.

What made this feud so great was that they took their time with it, they did it one episode of Raw at a time, & they've kept it at a slow pace. Once Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble Match, it was just a matter of time before the big night. Once Batista made that decision, it went off from there.
I honestly wish they booked a long-term story like this between Seth Rollins & Buddy Murphy when he was in his Messiah phase. Seth had been thru his corporate phase & early 2000s HHH returning babyface phase. I was looking forward to him leading his own Evolution. Instead they split that whole group & had Buddy making out with Rey’s 19 year-old daughter in some weird telenovela plot.
HHH might have been the best at putting people over. He made so many storylines better by getting fans to want the other guy to win. He was an awesome heel. You was almost always attached to the belt and when there was a push for someone else he understood it. Fantastic stuff.
