Agreed, the dopamine with this game is great even when u don't try hard to win (playing a different style, playing hoovy and making someone's day, playing trolldier getting some epic market garden kills, playing med getting some sweet ubers /melee kills to build uber, playing demo and spawn camping them, playing engi and making a sneak teleporter or sentry where they least expect)

I genuinely cannot believe you were doing that good as spy for someone who's brand new. Spy is hands down the hardest class to play because he's the easiest to kill; being good at spy is all about map knowledge, game awareness, and the hardest part; learning how other players behave based on their class. You seem like a natural spy main dude

@@caramelcandys I feel like people hardly spycheck snipers, so if you pretend to be their sniper near a good sniper sightline they'll ignore you, paired with snipers low mobility makes it not uncommon to see snipers running to health and ammo packs, which you would need to do as spy anyway

Started playing the game for almost 8 months now, the beginning was rocky af what with the discrimination against f2p, it was all too overwhelming as well being my first multiplayer and seeing how far of an asshole one can get in chat or outright cheating, tho after so many I get used to it now, and there's the goofy part of the experience which is not bad, also by watching other multiplayer games gameplay I can see that a worse exists, i only wish now that cheaters problem is solved seeing the game devs are still there to make a new update after many years

    (paraphrasing)
1: “can you guys not swear my mom might hear you”
    2: “how old are you”
    1: “I’m 9” This was a grown man. Maybe 30s or older.
It continued with occasional stuff like him saying he was 4’3” and hadn’t hit his growth spurt yet.
    1: “I haven’t seen my dad in 10 years”
Me: “I thought you said you were 9”
And then he swore, funniest thing ever
Ofc there are often times where people in vc are chill and it’s great

as much as I love this game, one of the hardest things to watch is seeing new players stuck on 70 fov, giant viewmodels and especially 100ms lerp. You'd only know how to change these things if you dig through the advanced settings, and worse, lerp delays packets received by the client, so even veteran players might not know it exists, and is only changeable through console commands or a config. Changing just these 3 things makes the game so much easier to play

It's great to see new players coming to this game! I think a lot of people, who try to Pick up TF2 are intimidated by how chaotic and confusing it can be, and, well, I can't blame them. But those who do manage to pick it up, and stick with it might actually fall in love with it! So, it's nice to see you liking the game, despite how much it might seem!
On an other note, here's a tip: You can adjust your fov to 90° in the settings. It's REALLY a game changer! Not only is it extremely useful, but it also gives the game a more modern feeling!

I was in your position as well. Having briefly played the game 3 years ago but couldn’t get into it. But a month ago, I decided to give it another chance, and it’s the most fun I’ve had in a while. My favorite part is the strange yet hilarious interactions I’ve had with other people. And then the killer cams (as opposed to kill cams) can freeze on a golden moment that can be absolutely cursed.
With the recent summer update, I’d say now is the perfect time to try out TF2 if you’re interested.

thanks for your advice on TF2! I've been scared to try out the game for some time because I was afraid I wouldn't like the game and just uninstall because I usually suck at shooter games and I'm scared of interacting with a game's community, but I've been trying to find a good reason why I should give it a shot and this seems to be it :)

@saiyanzunited currently I am kinda warming up to the game by playing the Roblox versions of TF2 and yes I still do suck at FPS games (still having a blast tho) and I'm having a lot of lagging issues. Will that be a thing I encounter in the game?

    • @za_crispy
      @za_crispy ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@alanhumanguy do you use a gaming pc or a potato laptop? If Roblox freezes up, you might want to play around with your graphics settings in tf2 (or install a config that will do it for you!) But if it's lagging, it might be your internet. Still, tf2's quite an old game, so running it will probably be fine. And dw about being bad - you'll get better as you go on, and the community is still fun to be around! Especially when you join in on the taunts and goofy friendly players you have a high chance of encountering

    Exposure, Potential, and Endurance.
Exposure is how likely it is for a given part of the engagement to come under contest.
Potential, is anyone's ability to do anything significant at any given moment.
Endurance is how long anyone or any part of the engagement can go before the balance of forces is changed.
now.... if you take any given map... any *one* map... any selection of classes, and their default loadouts.... how many variables of exposure is that?
not everyone is going to be in the same place, not everyone is going to attack the same person, and not everyone is going to have their main weapon ready.
and that's just for one aspect of the model!
now, consider this: 9 classes in 16 slots per team, each allowed to choose from 20+ unique weapons, evenly distributed across the map, for 100+ maps, each running for at least 10 minutes.
    HOW MANY COMBINATIONS IS THAT!?

However, I stopped playing completely a few years back. The whole game got totally ruined by hackers making tons of racist bots spamming the chat and lagbots lagging down all servers completey when they entered. Also there were a ton of cheaters and Valve did not seem to care much about doing anything about the problems.
That completely took the fun out of the game and removed the point of playing anymore. Probably was for the best, since I played a bit too much since it is such a good game otherwise.

It makes me proud seeing a new player getting 3 kill chain stabs, I've played since slightly before the UBER update & Spy has always been a favorite of mine conceptually.
Sadly he's weighed down with bugs & a limiting toolkit in comparison to something like The Heavy.
One tip nobody talks about is the details of the characters facial expressions. A disguised Spy will have a blank & wide eyed stare versus the expressive & comical Teammates you'll have.
Heavy is a fantastic reference for what I am talking about.

One of my fav voicelines in the game is one that Spy has a chance to say when starting one of the dance emotes:
"Dance, gentlemen, DANCE like no-one is shooting at us!"

that person in chat getting mad that you guys were dancing and not playing the game must have been new as well, thats a regular event in tf2

The funnier part is that new players (atleast the ones ive encountered) are more likely to use their secondary (like shotgun on soldier) if they run out of ammo on their clip.
Because they actually have it equipt

Glad to see even now new people are getting into the game and having fun.
Hope this becomes a series of you discovering all that tf2 has to offer, or at the very least we see some more tf2 videos.

I like how he does not call anything its actual name, like instead of sentry gun, he says turret.

my problem with tf2 is how I just loaded into a casual match and I just…didn’t. What I mean is that I could take 2 steps into the main part of a map, boom, dead. Or, you could just be me trying to place a dispenser for boosting myself with a sentry and I get backstabbed in 2 seconds

this is making me want to play it again, i actually have already played ( and spent a few bucks on ) tf2 but i never had anything to pull me in, seeing someone completely new finding it fun motivates me to get into it. might try it out again once i'm done doing a dumb personal challenge with steam's replay thing ( spotify wrapped but steam ) to get 100% of my time in one game
cheers! hope you enjoy tf2 (:

In tf2 we allow the chump to buy the cool emote, then we all "share" it together!

It's so nice to see that people are still willing to try out TF2 after so long. I'm always surprised to see that a lot of people that play the game now started playing years after Jungle Inferno. There's a ton to learn for sure, but there's certainly a reason why I have thousands of hours in the game.

My problem is that I wasn't able to type in text chat (I'm pretty new to steam) and that was disappointing. I also think the main menu is a little cluttered but its fine for what it is. The gameplay was pretty fun not going to lie, but i found myself just either going for kills or goofy off more often then actually going for the objective because of the timer which I think makes the game even more chaotic.

    • @plbster
      @plbster ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah Valve made it so F2Ps can't type in chat as a counter for bots that were spamming in chat, despite the fact that before the bots they used to be able to :/ The way to unlock the ability to chat would be to buy something from the in game store (I recommend either the contract pass, a key, or a mann co ticket)
