Over 1000 years and that drum is still beating with a fire heart. Shout out ontario Cree nation and to the other beautiful tribes of canada. one heart, one love Always.
Colonial boundaries need not apply to the original nations of these lands. Cree is Cree, whether in Canada or the States. Iroquois confederacy is Iroquois confederacy whether it's in Canada or in the States. Same tongue, same blood, same heart.
Henry Bowring-McDonough it’s funny how I know exactly what video that is and what lead his is and I also think that, that lead is the best one he’s had
My roommate is half native and it's may sound like I'm crazy, but I am able to see his father who has passed away. His father has always been there watching over his son and his grandchildren. His father has always spoken to me in times of need and helped ME who isn't native. I thank the elders for being so kind, for making me be able to speak with those have passed. Thank you for this honor.
@@gratius1394 No one is actually “native” to a piece land. Save those in Africa where they think life began. Everyone came from someplace else. But at some point , if it is 800 years, that’s pretty much as “native” as can be.
@@shoottrue5115 It's all about perspective. Europeans had been in Americas for the last 500 years and even today no one would call them "natives". I think we should apply the same standard to everyone.
This is so beautiful, I study history at university and it’s been my pleasure to read about the indigenous people. Minorities are more alive that what we expect and also they’re beautiful.

Incredible honestly , I wish pow wow were still present more often so my children can experience these beautiful songs , we never missed a POW wow growing up and it’s part of our memories forever !
Not a lot of people understand my heritage.. For so many "westerners" drumming and singing is so foreign... And I'm crying to this performance. Absolutely soul-touching!
Aaaniii! Today is National Aboriginal day, I celebrate with my two anishnabek sons Waaseyaa and Niimi. Shtataha this is a good song!! Many miigwetches for this song.
This is another exceptional performance by the Northern Cree. I attended a Squaxin Island Tribe pow wow in Washington state a couple of weeks ago. It didn't disappoint, but it would have been great to see these guys in attendance. I realize that they can't go to every single one, but I'll catch them sooner or later in person.
my baby loves this music the play it for him everyday and he stops Crawling where ever hes at and sit in his bottom and start singig and tapping the ground with his little hands ❤️ 😍
Soy de chile desde que encontré este tema musical y otros de estos mismos y extraordinarios acordes .me ha ipnotisado su música.Debo tener sangre roja.

I'm really impressed by Kyle's lead
Probably the best singer in my opinion
Northern Cree is by far the best group I seen in a long time
I love his lead at the Northern Cree @ Mandaree - SNL Drum Solo Contest 2015, definitely agree that he is a deeply talented singer

I was just thinking about the Haka
Maori aren't native to New Zealand. They've came there about 800 years ago.

Why do they cover their one ear? Also, why do they sometimes them cover their throats? I only ask out of curiosity.
To hear them selfs clearly. The throat one, is to get them high notes
