🌬🔥 @MixedUpEverything great job guys! I cringe when I see anyone attempting Nirvana covers but you guys are the only ones in 26yrs since Kurt passed who do them justice. (Post Malone also totally killed it with his Nirvana tribute concert livestream for Covid) but other than that one off, you guys repeatedly do Nirvana justice. I'm so glad you chose "About a Girl" off the Bleach album. Kurt wrote so many amazing songs that are not as well known so if you havent already, I hope you dig deep into his catalogue.
a side note: I heard your "Lake of Fire" cover which was great but you attributed it to Nirvana. It's a common belief that it's a Nirvana song so please please dont take offense. I definately dont mean it that way at all. Its actually a Meat Puppets song. The Meat Puppets, Kirk & Curt Kirkwood ( brothers..lol) were Kurt's only guests on the Nirvana Unplugged Special in 1993, much to the dismay of MTV as they wanted a more well known band but Kurt didnt care about that. He cared about giving the "brothers meat" exposure as they were some of Kurt's musical inspiration. They played 3 of their songs with Nirvana that night and Kurt sang them, which is why most people think they're Nirvana songs: Oh Me/ Lake of Fire/Plateau. The Meat Puppets are still playing today but were never to be as commercially successful as Nirvana or the other bands of the 90s yet they were held in high esteem by their famous peers. Just because one doesnt become insanely commercially successful in the music business doesnt mean they're not f*cking great. In fact the majority of super talented musicians never make it to that degree. It should never be the goal. True success has nothing to do with fame and wealth. Approval and popularity is hyped and over valued in our world but it's never brought one peace of mind, happiness or fulfillment. In fact often, quite the opposite.
Most of the musicians/bands you guys cover encouraged young musicians to write what 'they' like and not worry if anyone else likes it or not. Those who it resonates with will follow naturally. Just like the evergrowing numbers of people are who hear you once and cant believe it, then cant stop listening and watching sharing and spreading the word about you.
You guys were born for this. Just keep doing what you're doing and I'll see you at Wembley.
