This video is very touching. Working in the industry has truly left me drained and sometimes lost. I question why I even considered this as my career. Your videos, specially this one, remind of why I fell in love and continue to love garment making. It's the dedication, the true essence of craftsmanship. I wish you luck in all you future projects.
I've been so lost these days with my creativity but your videos are so inspiring. I hope I get to work on it soon and I would definitely love to learn more from you!
Dear Mr Modeliste, you must have been so proud to start your career at Comme des Garcons! It sounds like a very thorough apprenticeship. I whish you all the best, be it in Japan or elsewhere!
Amazing TH-cam channel as well a the video. You videos are truly inspiring for someone like myself who is trying to learn the pattern drafting and pattern cutting from TH-cam channel , and fundamental discipline involved . Please keep posting such videos.
Hi there, i' m also a fashion design student. It's nice to hear that through your channel, I'll be able to refresh all my pattern making skills. Times are hard, because of the pandemic, and online class is a new kind of trend. But through watching your channel, I'll be able to freshin' up what I've learn.
Breathtaking. I hope to be as skillful as you one day. Hopefully you can continue to teach us. May you return safely to Japan and continue your beautiful journey.
Thank you for sharing your journey and passion for creating three dimensional garments! I love your work! It is refreshing and rejuvenating to watch! I hope you are able to return to Japan and make your dreams and hopes come true. 😊
I also love the integration of design + pattern making + grading + construction. That’s why I’m a one person knitwear design studio, to do couture, even at a very small scale. 🧶💕✨
I would love to take your online classes! I graduated from parsons and all I can find since summer and fall are unpaid internship or production design roles. So I moved back home in Michigan and learning to get better at construction, pattern making and draping ...
Thank you for sharing this and I love the calming aesthetic and clips you've put together. I want to ask how does one become a pattern maker/ designer at cdg and did you go to school for it or did you receive some training on the job
Dear Mr. Modeliste, thank you for this beautiful video. I am also working in fashion, in Italy, for an old tailoring house... but I am not a modeliste or a tailor, just a designer. I, and many of my friends who are in design, are considering or have already moved to less central cities outside of the traditional fashion capitals. We are pursuing self-sustainability while creating what we want to create. I wonder what your concerns are about moving away from New York and starting a studio in the countryside of Japan, whether you worry about self-sustainability or some other factors. I hope we may all succeed and encourage the next generation to pursue their dreams, no matter where they are... even if they are in a small village. I send you many good wishes.
I have mix feeling about living in Japan. It nice to visit there but I’m not sure if I really like actually living there. I will see how I feel. Good luck your journey.
I would be interested to know how you feel about fashion today especially with this main stream instagram culture. You clearly have a deeper understanding of fashion and construction which is inspiring. Do you feel upset by fashion today and how do you think you/designers can change that through the way clothes and constructed and made?
formerly Marylin moroasted here Very much touched by your message, I just graduated from fashion school and I hope to get a job as an apprentice patternmaker very soon. Thank you so much for creating this channel, it might be small today but im sure it will keep on growing seeing the quality of your videos Btw, my graduate collection film is on my channel, if you are curious
Good morning 😊 sir, I would love to be your student 🙏 if I can learn anything regarding pattern making and draping from you that would be a great blessing for me. 😇
