Want to see a comparison? Here is the TP-XD versus the TP-XXL and the TP-LC th-cam.com/video/VGmwJOc6qNo/w-d-xo.html Here’s the total weight too of the Loadout! 19.5 Lbs. Coming is 26.5 lbs lighter than my TP-XXL fully loaded
Nice ! I gotta admit , I’m in a bit of a quandary weight reduction wise , I have a pair of Knipex Lineman pliers , like yours only comfort grip ( which I prefer , I also have a pair of the Knipex forged stripper ( also comfort grip ) , third I have a pair of the Klein hybrid stripper/crimper/lineman pliers ( J2158CR gray boys . ATM , I schlep all three , to some extent , all have their good points , I would very much get it down to one !
@@MillisConstruction One thing I do different from you in re: PB “ first in drivers ; I carry the PB 65( might be 85{ wear on the paint label ) 10.R -30 . The short ( not stubby ) , version of your ratcheting driver . It plus it’s tether ride in my left front pocket on a lanyard . Attached to the Lanyard are 8 2” impact bits , a 2” bit chuck , + a 1/4 hex 2” extension , plus a 1/4” hex to 1/4” square adaptor . My compact belt holster , ( worn on my right hip , contains a 6” bit extension ) , plus a bunch of other small guys . Sorry to be confusing , but I find it a compact , capable , and secure set up . I have lost a few things out of Leg pockets on work pants over the years !
Another weight and bulk saver / backup : The Whia 26 in 1 driver , and 14 in 1 stubby driver ! The bits are double ended , and there are several available bit assortments ( Metric Hex , Torox , Security etc etc ) . I don’t use these for most everyday stuff , but they make one hell of a fallback option ! Another handy / dandy is a Klein Non contact voltage tester/ Laser Distance Measurer ( range in excess of 100’ ) , try an beat that for standout !
I use the same level on my TP6B, you can snip off alittle bit of the plastic or file it down that holds the level in place and then you can take it in and out without removing it off your bag
A few bulk/ weight reduction tips : Re: Hex Keys , Klein 70573 inch/ metric hex keys . Not as nice / capable as Wera , but 90% of the time it will do it . Re: “ Hammers “ , I carry Knipex 51 01 210 ( Carpenter’s Pincers , with a hammer face ) , add a piece scrap leather , to prevent scratching . I also carry Halder Supercraft 20 dead blow hammer . Re: insulated drivers : Whia 6.0 283109 multibit magazine VDE drive , plus a 6.0 283101 stubby handle for the VDE slimline bits . Plus a terminal driver handle , for the Whia bits (part number has worn off ) . Pincers will out do a Claw hammer all day long , for nail pulling . Anything you can’t pull , you can set with. Nail set !
I got two different thumbnails. For what it’s worth, I like the one w/ the bag shot from the front. The overhead shot was too busy. That said, I love this channel and I click Thumbs Up regardless!
Yes you did 😅 the first one had a terribly low click through rate so I switched it to a brighter one of it and it immediately picked up a lot better! I’m going to try to get a better thumbnail for it tonight. I’ve just been working non stop this week and barely got this video edited in time
@@MillisConstruction I really like it, the magazine that holds the bits is a rubber and has good hold so you don't loose them and the way it fans out makes it easy to grab and on the other end it's got a nice locking feature. Highly recommend
electrical apprentice here! ive been getting more and more into buying more tools lately and Millis is always a go too channel when i have any questions!! also check out ProjectFarm, Lone Star Mopars, and Last Best Tool, these are amazing channels for any tool junky like myself!!!
Those knipex automatic wire strippers look interesting, Are they good, do they strip the insulation off the romex cable too? I assume they are just for individual wires, but I’m curious if they also strip the nonmetallic sheathing as well
Holstery make some very cool stuff indeed ! I have most of their stuff except for the Speed Square holder . Their “ Mod Belt is also really nice ! The Joey is very nice for carrying a Meter in , it prevents getting the readout all scratched !
could you do a video with the tools laid out in front of each veto bag so i can make an idea which size one i actually need thanx, simon ( its hard to tell when their all in the bag)!
@@MillisConstruction I really like the look of the tech pac backpack but it’s just way too expensive, the tp xxl and tp xd look good. The lc and mct look nice aswell.
@@NoNo-uy2bq I've got a used Tech MCT that's in VERY good condition. Used it for 6 months before getting the Tech Pac. I would definitely sell it to you, if there's some legit official way we could work it out.
Is your Stabila pocket level quite old? I brought a new one a few months ago and can remove the level on its own whilst it is clipped to my Velocity bag. The bottom of the case on mine has a cutout to allow you to push the level up and out of the case.
Do you a suggestion for screw drivers that have very visible and long lasting markings while looking down into the bags? Most of them wear away, and you end up having to pull the screwdriver out to see what tip you need.
Melt the pattern in the end of the handle and fill with contrasting pigmented epoxy or nail polish. Add dots to indicate size ex #2 Phillips gets '+' and two dots. Or color code the epoxy for an even easier ID.
Did you end up getting the xl or xd? I’m currently in the same situation. Currently have the Mb5b and the mb3. Had the tplc previously and I loved it so I’m considering going to the xl or xd.
It’s almost the same bag as the TP-XL, I did a video actually just to compare this one with the XXL and the LC and it is here: th-cam.com/video/VGmwJOc6qNo/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the great info and help thinking of getting one I have the same problem you do my tpxxl is getting to full to Cary as my everyday service bag thanks again and keep up the awesome videos
@@MillisConstruction BTW , just an idea for your light ( First in ) , Malco double ended nut drivers in Imperial and Metric , use a baby Wera Ratchet ( ex Toolcheck or Bitcheck ) , a scrap piece of heat formed Pex you can slip over the handle ). That gives you 1/4-38 , and 7,8,9,&10mm ( 6mm is almost identical to 1/4 ) . Get the basic 2” shaft, and a secondary 4” shaft . Pretty powerfull package !
One other Malco offering worth a look is their Nut driver for distressed nuts ( painted over , badly rusted etc ) . I’ve only used a few times , but handy . Their baby Tin Snips are also very handy and cool !

Thanks for the video, did you know you can put a better magnet “holstery” brand ,holds lot more fasteners,
Is that the brand that does all the ads on Facebook lately? Showing one on your belt holding a sledge hammer or something?

I wouldn't keep a sledge on it but the magnet, drill master and Joey pouch are great
I can’t find the socket rail like that with standard sockets anywhere. I can find them with metric but that’s it
Any cool tips on how to keep Knipex from rusting? Besides oil. I actually use corrosion x the world's most expensive automatic transmission fluid.

Could have sworn I saw the four star dragon ball in there.
Its a good thing criminals havent figured out how much money the maintenance guy is walking around with in his bag Lol.
Indeed! From what I’ve seen the things at most risk are anything that says Dewalt or Milwaukee. I’ve not had much issues with hand tools 😅 yet
