A few years back when Ireland, my country, built their new national stadium at Lansdowme Road, Argentina and the Great Lionel Messi came into town to play us and I have to say he was treated with the greatest respect by our supporters. He was substituted in the 2nd half and the whole of the Irish crowd gave him a standing ovation. It was a real honour to see him play. He is the best of all time and yeah I know he hasn't won anything with Argentina but u cannot blame that on him. He singlehandedly brought them to a world Cup final 2 tournaments ago? Which tournament did he and Argentina lose in the final to Germany?? Was it 2010 or 2014?? I cannot recall it exactly but he brought them to that final with his outstanding performances tbf. It's a shame he will probably never win that major international honour but there's maybe still time if his country could get it right for the next one. He may not play all the games but he could make a serious impact yet.. Please God he gets a WC under his belt b4 he retires from the national team. Big Respect Lionel Messi from Ireland.
