- Is your Nintendo Switch Not charging or powering on? No Problem! Today, I am going to show you how to easily fix your Nintendo Switch with a few simple easy to follow Tips! This also helps fix charging problems, Black screen, Dead battery. The tips/tricks covered in this video are compatible with all Nintendo Switch variants, including the Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED models.
Tip #1: Cleaning The Charging Port.
Properly/ Safely cleaning the Type-C Charging port on your Nintendo switch will help it make a better contact with the charger. Removing all the dust/debris will help! Make sure to always use a working Official Nintendo Switch Charger when possible.

Tip #2: There are a bunch of different button combinations you can do that will spring your Nintendo Switch back to life. These usually fix the black screen, no charging and no power/turning on issues.
Tip #3: Different Charging source.
The official Nintendo Switch Charger is considered by many to be the best charging source in regards to charging your Switch. With that said, there are other power sources you can use that have worked for others.

Tip #4: Joy-Con removal
Sometimes the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons leach off the tablet itself. Removing these can help fix charging issues. If you have a Nintendo Switch Lite, Removing the Micro SD card and Game cart helps.

It worked for me, my son came crying and told me he’s Switch won’t turn on completely dead and not responding to anything I did myself, so I follow your advice and I clean the charging port, then I plug the Nintendo cord to it for about a minute then hold the power button for about 15 seconds and came back to life, man thank you so much, you’re awesome.

It honestly depends why it’s not charging. From what I gathered based off the comments, the button combos seem to work for everyone, especially the first one. It’s worth it to try all of them until one finally works.

Appreciate this! Daughter had trouble charging the switch and it wasnt powering on after a grandparent tripped over the cable lol. Edit: I will add that my Switch has been docked since day 1. It is a console (for me). Not a handheld, portable gaming system. So, this was alarming.
My Switch is the version 2 edition. So, it is pretty old.

Finally, a solution that worked for me! Before seeing this I had tried all the different button combinations I could think of, removing the sd card and all. Cleaned the charging port and removed the game card as well and it finally came back to life. Thought I was going to have to get it professionally repaired! Super helpful video!! Thanks a ton

@GTRBytes Hi, my switch showed the little lightning bolt, yet it still did not charge. I tried tons of different charging outlets and cords it won't turn on its at 1 percent it was on the chargers for a couple of days even though it was drained for a week. The battery is not broken... Could you comment how to fix it

Try using a different official Nintendo Switch Power Supply. It might just be yours is failing. Sometimes with those symptoms, it could also be the battery.

Actually saved me, hadn't used it in about 2 months, tried switching it on but got no screen on. Did the volume buttons and power button at the same time and worked immediately. Interestingly it did seem like it was charging when I had it in for about an hour, because it was at 19% already, so it could've just been the screen itself

My switch suddenly going into deep sleep after too long drained battery. Last night it wont't giving charged indicator at all on the corner left. Now I press the + and 15 seconds of power button as u said earlier. Works well with my Oled!! Thank you
Thanks for this video! My switch has been unresponsive for days and I was starting to worry I'd have to replace the battery, but it turns out all I needed to do was hold + tap the power button. Seems like Nintendo cut a lot of corners to maximize their profits with this junk of a console I've tried everything and nothing works and this has happened to me with three switches two launch models and the switch lite not mentioned Jon con drift on multiple joy cons smh
