- The backing track of this song was played by the band called Foxy and recorded in Miami, US in 1979. The bassist was Arnold Paseiro. The intro riff is played on guitar and keyboard. Bass seems to be playing the root note. In this video, I played the riff in the beginning section and the root note in the other riff sections.
ABBA had such a long list of kick-ass bass lines.
Rutger Gunnarson
As always, what a beautiful cover and accurate bass tab! Thank you for also letting us see in advance what the next section is going to look like :)
Thanks bussy!. Glad that you like it!
good job man, and thank you for this lesson..
you play it so smoothly, and I kid you not, it helped me understand why I was having a hard time playing this song: I was approaching it too awkwardly.
Best regards from BR, stay strong dude.
Thank you so much @caiosakamoto7500! Glad to hear that my video helped you figure things out.
ABBA - so much underestimated. You bring their songs an Arrangements to life! Thanks so much, I adore Your Talent and Approach!
Thank you so much!
arnold paseiro the bass player behind this song must be proud on this... 👍 Keep it up, sir!
Шедевра !! и АББА и исполнение !! ))
You are an incredibly talented bass player. Great feeling of music, listening to your covers is very inspiring. ABBA! Thank you very much for your content!
No, I always make mistakes 😀 Thanks for watching.
Nice job. You make the octave groove look easy
Thanks a lot for watching.
3:35 has always been my favorite part of the song.
Espetacular!
Amazing cover, and that bass is beautiful. I also really appreciate you adding in a section that shows the upcoming tabs, that's a fantastic addition.
Thank you so much for watching!
Love the original - love the cover. Vicious bass
Parfait!! Magnifique! Merci pour ce tuto 🤩
Excellent bass ❤
you’re so amazing!! hope to be as good as you one day
This one is a way easier for me compared to Winner takes it all. Thanks for sharing with us !
Great sound! It's interesting to hear new details in familiar songs.
Indeed, it's interesting to discover these details which we usually do not pay much attention to when we listen to ABBA songs!
Brutal bass line! Hopeful I can figure out out! Nice stuff!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks Luc Praslan for your support!! 😀👍
OMG insane!!! Nice job!
Thanks for watching!
I bet you play for 20-30 years or more, your style on the fretboard is outstanding, your really just doing what you need to sound perfect and not a bit more, that’s what they call expertise!
Thank you for your comment. Indeed I play for over 30 years but there is still a lot to improve! 😊
I’ve been waiting for this song 🎶
Hope you've enjoyed it 😀
Man, you nailed it!
Never heard so accurate and skillful bass cover!
Subscribed!)
P.S.: By the way, this is probably only ABBA song recorded outside of Sweden, with non-swedish musicians.
Yes, that is correct to my knowledge. Thanks a lot!
Thanks to you, man!)
Of course, we're all waiting legendary Dancing Queen cover from you, as well as all ABBA tracks eventually)))
@@sonicbluebass en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxy_(band) well done Alex
Absolutely fantastic - cheers for this one! Always an exciting day when I see one of your videos pop up in my recommended 😊
Any plans to do anything else off Voulez-Vous? Some cracking basslines in there! Keep up the brill work 😄
Thanks. I am thinking of doing some more songs from the Voulez-Vous album.
You're good !!!!!
Man you're soo accurate with those pauses making it sound soo clean, I hate pauses😅
Yeah, pauses are important but they can also be tricky to play 😀
Wow. Nice.
It sounds really cool! The song "As Good As New" will fit perfectly into your collection of covers.
Thanks a lot Сергей! As Good As New is a nice choice indeed. I really like it but it's a bit difficult to play. Let me think about it 😀
@@sonicbluebass It's true, the bass theme is complicated in this song. I think you should try it. You have very good skills :))👍👍👍
Gunnarson is a monster, the swedish groovemaster
Maravilloso
Eres increíble !!!!
This is very good !
Thanks a lot!
Better than original. Very good indeed sir
Oh thanks. I'm flattered 😀
Super!!!
Thanks!!!
Music for the 21st century.
Abba will never be irrelevant!
Awesome stuff! Learned a lot! at 0:14 the tabs differ from what you play :)
Oops! That was my typo on the tab. It should have been D# (11/E - 13/D) instead of D (10/E - 12/D). Thanks for catching this.
THANKS
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love those smily faces
와 이영상 보니 배우고 싶네요
Thanks for watching!
Real shit
Arnold Paseiro has commented on another video about this bass line. I wonder if he has seen this? Arnold?
nice brooooo haha
Thanks!
Bro, silly question but you know all chords by heart or you follow the logic of the scales and that's enough?
👏🏻
thanks
Thanks too for watching!
Any tutorials how to play the pattern as from 00:38 ?
What I keep in mind is to make sure to mute the strings I'm not playing with the left hand. This helps avoid unwanted harmonics, resonance, and noise from any right hand slips, resulting in a clean sound. This actually applies not only to this pattern but always. And begin with a slow tempo and gradually play faster, then you will eventually find your hands are relaxed.
hi sonicblue, many thanks for your great work. i love it, to play with your videos. do you also have a patreon account, where i can download the scores? thanks and a nice weekend, Patrick
Hi Patwi Wipat , thanks for watching the video. Glad you enjoyed it! Regarding the account for download, I do not have it.
Could you please do slipping through my fingers?
Thanks for watching. That's a beautiful song. I like it.
❤ i love u
Does your mother know? 😁
Could you do Dance (While The Music Still Goes On)?
That's a really good song. I will think about it.
Imagine this but slap tho......
could you do a video with Mamma Mia?
Thanks for watching. I plan to do that in future.
You know its a pro when he only has 4 strings
No shit it has 4 strings
it's a bass for a reason😭
@@JoelPachuau they make basses now with 5 or 6 strings. Even though they aren’t as common as a standard 4 stringed bass, 6 string basses are becoming more popular
ABBA do a James Bond theme
Oh that's a new discovery
