      I definitely understand that feeling, Austin. Surrogacy is a big investment, and a life changing decision. I think it's appropriate that it requires long-term planning and personal sacrifice. Only the most committed parents pursue this route... But thank God the option exists!

      @@jessicakibler2057 Jessica is correct. Many people follow "independent surrogacy" and manage the program themselves. But it's not an easy path. Finding a surrogate is a real challenge -- and she needs to meet specific requirements put forth by the ASRM. You can learn more about how Indy Surrogacy works in the Surrogacy Guide: www.sensiblesurrogacy.com/independent-surrogacy/

      The best destination depends on your situation... Outside the US, I think the best destination is Ukraine. The country has become an international hub for surrogacy becasue of very explicit and supportive laws (and very good clinics). But Ukraine is only possible for married, heterosexual couples who have a medical diagnosis of infertility. Other unmarried couples, same-sex couples, or single parents can look at programs in Colombia, Greece, or Georgia.
      I did a video on Ukraine. You can check it out.

    • @sensiblesurrogacy4105
      @sensiblesurrogacy4105  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If by "lose the baby" you mean the surrogate would get to keep the baby herself... that's quite impossible if you follow the law and have a clear contract with your surrogate. The surrogate never has any parental rights if there is a contract in place, and the genetic parents' names are placed on the birth certificate as soon as the baby is born..

    • @sensiblesurrogacy4105
      @sensiblesurrogacy4105  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ...and yet too many parents decide to skip the contract and just trust in a handshake they have with an unknown woman. Such stories about a surrogate trying to keep a baby are a reminder of the importance of following the law and general common decency.

      dont give up! you can do it. you deserve to be happy and give someone a better life than you had. the fact that you want to be a dad so badly already shows that you would be a perfect dad. dont give up just becase you are scared or becase of the costs. try to get a friend possibly or family member to carry your baby if you need to cheap. i dont know if what im saying is a good idea but im just rambling

    what about Mexico? around 70k was my quote.

    • @sensiblesurrogacy4105
      @sensiblesurrogacy4105  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Honestly, I used to have a program in Mexico but the success rates at the clinics were really low. That, combined with the lack of any legal framework, is why I pulled clients out and move the program to Colombia. But there are still couples going to Mexico, and I recommend two things if you're thinking of this:
      1) Look for a guarantee program with unlimited IVF cycles and embryo transfers. Most couples find their budget goes off the rails becasue they don't get pregnant right away and every subsequent clinic process adds thousands to the budget. After a few tries, the cost can become ruinous. With a guarantee the clinic is highly motivated to get you pregnant as quickly as possible -- which is exactly what you want.
      2) Consider getting a court order before the pregnancy instructing Vital Records to add the parents name on the birth certificate. This helps mitigate the lack of a legal framework, and it ensures the surrogate has no parental rights. Even if the laws were to change, your situation has already been decided by a judge, which offers important protections.

      Hello Winnie. I can understand the urge to find a surrogate. The US is clearly the gold standard, and our first recommendation. But for couples without the financial resources, there are "American-style" programs internationally. Our latest program is launching soon in Mexico.

    What is the best country to go for surrogate?

    • @williamhoughton6491
      @williamhoughton6491 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Melissa. The best country is the United States, which has the most successful clinics and a very secure and supportive legal framework. Of course the US has it's disadvantages -- the cost and the absurd privatized medical insurance market begin the top 2 disadvantages. Outside the US the best options depends on your situation. Ukraine has the best legal framework, but obviously there are problems there at the moment. (Although most Ukrainian clinics and some agencies are reconstituting their programs in the Western part of that country, away from military zones.) Mexico is also an up an coming option with a legal framework created by a 2021 Supreme Court decision there.
