Hey man. I need help. I bought this car 3 years ago and ive been doing stuff to it, and have big plans, wanna end up like yours. But it came with a sticky throttle body, my mechanic just lubes it, all he knows how to do. I bought a brand new throttle body from MWR, brand new OEM and it still sticks, really hard and i have to rev all over like a jackass just to engage 1st. At speed, sticks even harder. It was smooth for like a week. You clearly dont have this issue. Any advice man? This car would be perfect if just the throttle wouldn't stick.

If a buy TB didnt fix it you prolly need to adjust your throttle cable. Also check to make sure the cruise control wheel thing where the 2 accelerator cables meet spins well, if adjusting it does nothing and it spins well you might also have some stretched cables or some other issue which would likely throw a CEL anyways

@@loganamurray64 you know what? My mechanics (all Japanese mechanics at a Japanese auto shop) sucked. Absolutely sucked. I took it to another place that was recommended, specifically a Toyota specialist, and they fixed it in an hour, was nothing more than the screw adjustment on the throttle body simply couldn't figure it out. Drove for 3 months beautifully. Is now in the shop getting carbon/Kevlar clutch, forged steel flywheel, braided line, and replacing every other single part in the clutch area. Never dealing with this again. Fantastic car though, really a great driver's car. Definitely not a wife's grocery getter. A wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm going all the way on upgrades with it.

@@Audfile Damn man, sweet is really was just a cable adjustment that was needed, it's so simple too! You'll def like the flywheel, I have a ACT HDSS clutch and a MWR forged flywheel and its a fantastic combo. Great driver's car indeed :)

@@loganamurray64 you know what's funny is I'm driving a rental right now, a Polestar. It's absolutely very quick. But now I know, I would never trade my XRS for something like this just because of acceleration. I don't believe for a second this thing could keep up in the twisties. And the XRS makes even 20 mph an event. Mines pretty loud. Polestar is like floating on a cloud. But anyway, even one of the quickest vehicles ever, in no way diminishes what a type r type vehicle brings to the table.
