How 2 Smoke Corned Beef Brisket Like a Professional (Flavor Overload)

- This brisket recipe is one you will be cooking a lot. Today we are smoking corned beef brisket in the electric smoker. We start out with a nice piece of corned beef and transform it into a masterpiece. Let us know how it turned out when you make it.
Heat smoker to 225 and cook for 3 hours or until internal temperature of corned beef brisket reaches 161. Then wrap it up and put it back in for another 6 or so hours or until the internal temp gets to around 190. take it out and let it rest for 1-2 hours. Cut up and dig in.
Maker sure you make the rub the night before and put it on the corned beef brisket to sit in the fridge overnight.

These packaged corned beef briskets are made to be boiled. If you dont give it a soak for a few hours before you smoke it, it is going to be extremely salty.

not boiled. simmered with the the fat cap above the broth and veggies so that the convection can crisp the fat cap.

Great explanation!! Try soaking in water over night will help extract some of the salt before you season the next day

I use a deli slicer after, my kids like it for sandwiches. ( their very picky and they still love it )

I'm going to smoke one on my Okie Joe Highland Offset smoker.
After you wrap it, do you place it back in with fat cap up or down or does it matter? The reason I ask is because all the juices will obviously sit at the bottom of the wrap and may destroy the bark.(?) Also do you change smoker temp after wrapping?

Nice video. Good A/V. Open aperature with shallow depth of field is really good. What camera did you use? Also, the corn beef looks delicious! Will have to look at Giant Eagle for the pre-brine soaked brisket.

Hey man!! I like your style! I have two going on the smoker now. Im using a container with water to keep the smoke and atmosphere in the smoker a little more humid. Did you spray during your smoke? Also, do you check for fat render before wrapping? Just curious.

You can use tin foil. And alot of time you can get some of that paper from the mest counter of the grocery store

Hey we have the exact same smoker my dude!
When you took it out after reaching 190, the smoker read 268F. Curious. Did you bump the temp up? Thought you said to leave it at 225 until 190 IT.
The problem i had was it was so cold outside the electric smoker was having trouble staying the right temp so i did bump it a bit
I had the same smoker but gave it away. Just like charcoal and wood better and the smoker was not doing that good anyway. Plus you cant store them outside. Anyway great video.

you said you are using 1 1/2 teaspoons with all season to mix together , but you said with the I Cayenne pepper you said use half of a tablespoon ? are all the season to be 1 1/2 teaspoons . or table spoons, Please respond
Yes the cayenne pepper is teaspoons not tablespoon. But if you like it spicy you can do 1 1/2 teaspoons
@@614Lyfe You didn't really answer the question, which was are ALL the seasonings to be measured in teaspoons or tablespoons. I had to watch the video twice to surmise that the answer is tablespoons. My brisket is on the smoker now, so we'll see how it comes out.

Why not oil instead of mustard for a binder?
The mustard binds to the meat better then oil and helps give you a great bark
you do not need a binder if you plan on putting the rubbed brisket back in the fridge for a day

Yeah the issue was it was freezing out that day like 7 or 10 F. It was a struggle keeping the electric smoker at temperature lol

When listing the dry rub ingredients, you said to measure 1.5 teaspoons, but you actually measured each in tablespoons. Critical error.
It was an Alcad 1.5 Tbsp measuring spoon. Says it right in video.
