Bit of an abrupt ending on this one sorry!
This is the first official race in the Mira and after only a few laps of attacking the turbo MX5's in front of me it unfortunately lost fuel pressure due to a split seal on the fuel pump outlet. As the ECU started to see low fuel pressure it cut back boost and RPM which you can't really tell in the video but was night and day in the car and I pretty well coasted from when the video stops into the pits.
This is the second time I've suffered this failure and luckily caught before any damage was caused! This time around there was better evidence of why the failure occurred so we fixed it up and went on to races 2 and 3 without any issues!
Irrespective of the failure and having to cut this one short, the car performed really well in the damp conditions and, to date, I have never had enough pace to hassle either of these two Mazdas so it was a great feeling to be up there with them; promising first race for the new car! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

What shifter is that Tim? Looks like some fancy 3D printed prototype if you ask me. Deffo way less wobbly than the one in your Charade :-)
haha yes a lot less floppy! this is a new (patented) shifter concept that has been developed by a few clever kiwis and I have been working with them to develop one for the Daihatsu's ultimately to enhance shifting with our dog box but it works well with synchro/factory box, too. I'll be sharing more on it soon :)

@@gtti89 Is there a restriction in the regs for how far you can go? Cracking engine and probably more reliable than a CB80 at 200 but misses a bit of the rasp ;)
