    I have a potted pepper plant showing signs of iron deficiency. Im catching it a bit late, thought it may be a bug issue and now the tips are growing in pure white.
    I'll give this a try

    I discovered from a home soil test that I have really high phosphate, which locked up iron and zinc. My pH is fine at 6.75. Plants in the area are stunted with yellowing leaves. I'm planning to try the foliar spray.

    • @djJohnieD
      @djJohnieD 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Magnesium is mobile .. meaning it moves from lower leaves to new leaves when needed . So you see deficiency in low leaves ….if it is iron then you see it on top

    The iron make fruit sweet why my mango one year so sweet next year it not please tell me what I need doesn’t iron make fruit sweet

    • @JacobsBackyardGardening
      @JacobsBackyardGardening  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Iron doesn't contribute much to why the fruit is sweet, its to do with the sugars that the plant makes and how concentrated they are. Cheers and have a good one!

    • @lebeer1512
      @lebeer1512 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for answer can’t you please help me how and what kind of fertilizer make fruit sweet thanks

    • @JacobsBackyardGardening
      @JacobsBackyardGardening  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there's no specific fertiliser that helps directly with sweetening fruit. Instead you a fertiliser that's based on what you're growing (fruit trees, vegetables etc) and look out for any deficiencies that the plant may have and use a specific nutrient to correct a deficiency if it occurs. So try to aim for growing a healthy tree that has adequate growth, which will help to reach a high photosynthetic rate of the foliage and the sweetness of the fruit will take care of itself!
      Hope that helps you out, cheers!

      Honestly can't help much without any other info. Whats its position, what kind of soil, how much water and sunlight does it get?
      My first thought would be that it can't photosynthesize enough sugars for the amount of fruit it produces, but without knowing any other info its a long shot.
      Would love to hear back from you though to try and help out, cheers Tim

      yes you can. I have tried and results were positive.

    •  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so because rust is oxidised iron, so it no longer has the element the plants need. Of course I could be wrong.

    I live in cool climate country and i have a mandarin that's about 8years old and i just get him inside during cold season and everything was doing well but right this year at the beginning of the autumn fist his leafs started to get brown marks than huge amount of them have fallen.And right now it has 1 big leaf 2 baby leafs and a lot of buds on his bark and near branches and most of the branches have brown tips and some of them are whole affected. Im very worried maybe its because this autumn was very hot like summer and suddenly it got cold about 8degrees celsius or its because of the overwater or its because i pruned some branches before that happened 😔

    • @JacobsBackyardGardening
      @JacobsBackyardGardening  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Aundrius! Yeah sounds like it could be a type of rot, caused either by over-watering or from a disease entering in after pruning while the cuts are still sealing themselves. Could maybe try pruning off those affected parts and then using a pruning sealant (like steri-prune) to prevent further rot from occurring in the new cuts. Hope it goes well for you mate, let me know how it goes, cheers.

    Hi Jacob,
    Thank you for your video. Just wondering, can the yellowish leaves turn to green once the PH lower and Iron deficiency fix? Or just the new leaves? Thank you.

    • @JacobsBackyardGardening
      @JacobsBackyardGardening  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The affected leaves should still remain yellow as iron is a nutrient that stays in the same area of the plant once uptaken from the soil and "deposited" in the required area of the plant. The new leaves will be green though if the problem is fixed. Cheers Marsell

    does chelated iron or chelated micronutrients in powder form expire in 3 or 4 years . i have bought it and box say expiry date is 3 year

    • @JacobsBackyardGardening

      Yes it usually does, even for most fertilisers. This is usually because over time they react with the atmosphere and can change their effectiveness/ Hope that helps Vimal, have a good one!
