I know right? People have the audacity to bring their items in repair full of dust or any other disgusting human waste. Like how are these people not embarrassed? I judge those people so hard. I'm thinking of raising the cleaning/hazardous waste fee to $100.
I don't mind a little bit of dust. But when there is like 5 years worth of dust inside someone's pc I'm going to start charging a large premium. On the invoice it'll say "you're a disgusting human being - $100.00" lmao

I once had a male cat who developed a brain tumour. In the weeks prior to him being diagnosed and euthanised, he started spraying everywhere, even though he had been spayed. I can relate to the smell - and to the fact that it stains everything and is almost impossible to clean off completely.
RIP, Spike. To this day I still discover things with your piss on it. Little shit.

Sir, make your own suction tool with a balloon pump you squeeze with your hand. Like the ones you buy with an earwax remover. Deborox makes one. You just connect a flexi tube to it and your pen handle with a suction cup tip. No need for no pump or batteries.. You use your hand to control suction. Very easy to control suction power. No nonsense. Effective.

When I was a new dad, I was working full time 50+ hours ,but wanted to make some extra money so i started working at game stop part time too. One day a guy came in to sell an original PS2. I smelled the cat pee stink before I opened the box, but when so pulled it out and tilted it to look at the fan(completely caked with dust), an extreemly syrup like cat pee oozed out of it like honey, but MUCH stinkier. Apparently whatever had peed on it, did so regularly. I have been around cats and slobs with cats my whole life, and I have never seen such a thing. The worst part was that even though I was going to say no, the manager said to take it. I assumed that they would send them off the be cleaned, tested, fixed, and resold. However the day after Xmas, I learned that they just took people's word that they worked, bought them, then stuck them in a box, and sold them(2006ish). I figured that out as I had a line out the door of parents returning the used systems they bought that were disgusting if not just broke. I felt like such a criminal pos and quit. They had no replacements for them other than new systems. Granted they were only $30 more for a brand new, newer version one, but you could tell for some of the people, $30 was a significant amount. I have been on the outskirts of life my whole time here and have never felt more guilty/complicit in bad stuff as I did working for corporate America. I would rather sell crack! Then again just living here is starting to make me feel complicit in some bad stuff, especially after a few weeks ago.

55:48 - nVidia drivers will limit the clock in Furmark drastically to prevent damage , the donut is designed to load up all of the shaders on the card in a way games do not , which generates loads of heat. Older nVidia GPUs around the Fermi era can be destroyed with such loads if sustained hence the protections. Probably why the card's power limiter cuts in early.

How thick were the pads on that card ? I don't get why people don't send GPU's in the original box. I still have a 970GTX, 1070,GTX and a 3080 RTX and they are all sitting on my shelf in the original packaging including the anti static bag.

I also experience such low resistance on 3.3v rail on a gtx750ti it turns out a dead GPU core, when the card is power it only pulls 0.5Amps but no other voltage rail except 5v, then the core heats up but in a very specific spot only at the side, the opposite side is stone cold

Tony did you see that goofy comment Northrodge fix made about an oscilloscope? It seems like hes trying to take shots at a specific person.

Alex from North-ridge Fix says only stupid people use an oscilloscope. I left a comment stating what you accomplish with such a tool e.g. e.g. detecting a dead phase or if the BIOS chip is communicating. Or timing of certain resistors.

You said about a capacitor turning into a resistor, maybe voltage injection is the fix? 27:31

    •  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

If it releases the magic smoke or wears, it can. A 2 terminal passive component is characterized more completely as a complex transfer function rather than just as only capacitance, inductance, or resistance. Damage and wear does change it. A capacitor is shown to be defective if it passes measurable DC current at around its rated max voltage . It's also important to sometimes check passives out of circuit because sometimes your are reading values from other components in series or parallel with the component under test.

why not make a hole in the desk to install the preheater so as to have a flat surface under the silicone protection, the support for the card being removable
Would it be possible that it is the shunt resistance which, like the 3 resistances of 0 ohms, would have taken a little more value and would give an incorrect value?

I think what happened was you changed the wrong mosfet then the heat of removing it killed the one that was okay don’t think they’d kill each other that’s why after more heat from the reflow the crapped out completely

    very true !!!!
i had similar weird problem as well for days when sistem was booting up it was stucking on white led motherboard and some times give me masage that vga is unknown by eufi so first i think of gpu and send it for repair but there was no problem with it than i changed main board to get rid of this problem sometimes happen i changed board and installed windows on new nvme and this is where i found out i did all for nothing by accident i plug in old ssd with old windows and last set up and boot up on it the same problem happened and that was it ! it was crrupted windows all along i restarted and set boot on new nvme and erased that faulty windows.
simple fresh windows was all i need to avoid 400$ for nothing

You probably have the card closed and shipped by now, but in the future if you get this same card for repair, can you test the difference between gpu temp and hotspot temp? This specific model seems to have mounting problems where hotspot temp is around 15-18c higher than gpu temp, which suggests some areas of the gpu is not making good contact. I tried reinstalling some many times in so many different ways of tightening the bracket, it worked once lowering the difference to 10C but after a month it went up again. Would appreciate feedback. Ofc I replaced the paste with mx6

I think to put good thermal paste on. He uses some cheap stuff when he's testing gpus, and then puts good stuff on when its fixed.

You took the oldest bios instead of the newest 😅 which limits the card to 366W. The newest available puts the card to 500W. I would contact the owner to flash again the more recent one, as this card is now seriously limited. Also the card you had was a FTW3 ULTRA (according to the BIOS on the card before flashing), which has default a higher power limit, which is now lower then the original bios that was on there before, which was 450W. Also to take into account, is that a wrong BIOS can disable certain video outputs. I flashed my RTX2080Ti with a total other brands BIOS, which put my power limit a lot higher, but did disable a video output (which i didnt need and knew this could happen). So you actually changed the card from a FTW3 Ultra to a FTW3, which might also cause this problem.
