Competition is good for the Lakers bench, but you can tell by JJ's comments, he loves Dalton Knecht's potential. He just reiterated to Reggie Miller and the media that DK is absolutely in the top 1% of shooters. His quick and high release allows him to get his shot easily and he can catch and shoot, create his own shot, step back 3, off picks etc........he can get a bucket easily which off the bench is valuable skillset.

Yup. There will be growing pains, just like with most rookies. But JJ has been openly intrigued and excited by Knecht since the moment they drafted him. And I get why. He's clearly an NBA player, and as ready as most rookies can reasonably be. Appreciate you watching. AK

I'm not saying he's Kobe but it brings back memories of Kobe throwing up air balls against Utah in the Playoffs. They both are not afraid to be great. Again not saying he will be Kobe but he potentially could be a huge surprise.

That Knecht Kid was a fun watch in the 4th and Overtime. He does have potential to be a good team defender, He's so athletic. He would be great on the court with Vanderbilt, his offense would free Vando up to create havoc. Most impressive is to see JJ's fingerprints on this team so early. They really seem to playing for each other. I know there are a lot of JJ haters but I love his coaching potential. He intuitive and knowledgable.

The frustration with AD on the offensive end is that he is super talented and is capable of dominating like he did last night. Where fans like me get frustrated is the nights where he doesn't take the bull by the horns and assert himself when the team needs him to. He floats, gets lost, and isn't aggressive. Yes the bar is high for AD but that's because he's capable of dominating like few bigs can in the league today.

definitely very noticeable increase effort on the offensive glass u saw reddish and jhs a lot more active crashing from the corner this time and even if they didnt get the rebound they tipped the ball so another player could. the suns also had to start sending more people to box let out like you guys mentioned before so i imagine this what jj had in mind. also the knecht offense was amazing but we knew that already. ive been specifically watching him defensively since the preseason started and every game he cuts out more and more bad habits. at one point this game he legitimately was guarding bradley beal in space moved his legs to cut him off and blocked him. ive been very impressed with the improvement

One aspect to Knecht is he's a gym rat basketball that just wants to ball and compete, I haven't seen that in Christie, Bronny, JHS and even Reddick. Knecht has the potential to carry a team. Have you ever seen Christie, Bronny or JHS put on a display like what Knecht did last night, not even in high school or college. The most points Bronny scored in a high school game was 25, JHS scored 29 in a high school game. Max Christie had 51 high score in High School, but has never come close to what Knecht did last night in an NBA game. Knecht has the highest ceiling. The eye test is obvious. Knecht had multiple 30 plus point games in college. Bronny score 120 points his entire season at USC total for the year.

🏀 - Knecht 4 is an Athletic Baller that can score on All 3 Levels!!! I think We can use Him similar to the way We used Melo 3 Years ago (Give US 15ish Points a Game in 12-20 Min)
🏀 - Reddish is Our Low Budget Vando til He Returns and should be the 1st Sub in The Game @ SF when LBJ sits down @ The 6ish Min Mark (Give US High Energy/Good Defense and 4-8 Points).
🏀 - FINO will most likely be Traded @ The Deadline bcuz I think The Bright 🎥 Lights in L🌴A are too much for Him (Olivari is currently better than FINO & Bronny on Both Ends).

Max comes off a curl on the perimeter……. passes up a good look from 3(the type we need to space the floor)
Actually does a decent rip through and gets a step on his man to the basket for a lay-up….. instead kicks it out to a non-shooter….
Shooter misses, fastbreak ensues. Is last man on the break and instead of using his athleticism and verticality he jumps out the way.
    Against a guard.
This all happened in one play and is a microcosm of why I can not stand watching Max Christie play basketball. His ball IQ is TEH. RI. BULL. He’s scared to take the shots he’s supposed to and when he does, he doesn’t make them. Max christie is cam reddish with a better reputation. Even with how wild Cam can be on defense, he’s still better at staying in front of his man and walling them off on ball. There’s a reason he started on KD and not Max. I’m calling it now, just like last year, max will start off with the lionshare of opportunities in the rotation and slowly lose them. Least deserving hype for a player that I’ve seen in a long time. The trade has to be Rui/Max/JHS probably and hopefully that’s enough to pry some big away from a team. Rui and Max are the lowest IQ players by far in the rotation.
