One of the good ones on TH-cam for auto repair. He’s a good man. Ty for the video my friend you’re knowledgeable and you explain everything and why you’re doing it. Thumbs way up!
Great video n instructions .. my car doin the same thing .. I have a 2006 Chevy HHR .. both cars have the same engine .. every time I give the car gas it hesitate n be shaking real bad .. I couldn't never figure out what it was because it never throwed the code to I took it to a mechanic shop that has the big computer to read the computer .. and bam it picked up the po300 code .. because I took it to AutoZone it wasn't showing up .. I took it to advance auto part it wasn't showing .. them obd code reader are grabage trash at those places. But thank God I took it to a mechanic shop n they put the big computer on it n the code came up to. No I just gotta go get it fix .. but one again great video bro .. u explained it well and great 💯
Good job bro my shit is sounding crazy about to use your vid as a guide.....you dyi youtubers are Life and money saver thank you ....help more than you kno
this video is great..still stumped about whats causing my rough idle..replace plugs and coils already and clean MAF...but just learned about IAC...ill check that out now. this video is still amazing even though I havent pinpointed it yet cuz I learned so much Thank you Man!
I have 2009 cobalt and I threw this P0300 code today. Same thing with starting, it starts but you can tell it doesn’t want to and it actually didn’t start for me today. No check engine light though & mine doesn’t vibrate. But I’m going to check the exhaust tomorrow and see. But so far all I notice is when it’s starting.
Any advice on a U0073 code? Everything started when I had s misfire, changed my plugs, coil packs, and valve cover gasket. Ran great and then got the U0073 code. It’s a no communication bus a off code. Got a new battery, new tcm, checked all fuses, new ignition switch, new maf sensor, checked wiring and grounds on tcm and ecu. If I clear the code It will run great for 3 on/off cycles and then the code comes back on? When code is on it goes into safe/limp mode and you can’t drive it until you clear the code again. Any ideas on what my next step may be? I’m going crazy and broke trying to fix this! Maybe a sensor or solenoid? 2006 Chevy hhr
Thanks for the informative vedio. Is it true that a bad ignition coil will affect either cylinder 1 and 4 spark plugs or cylinder 2 and 3 spark plugs. As to your example spark plug 1 and 4 were not sparking.
Car is 06 cobalt ls with 68000 miles. P0300 & P0128. I just changed oil, spark plugs, clean MAF sensor, ignition coil, & and ignition coil module. What should I change next in this trail and error?
Thank you for the film. Can you tell what grease goes inside of the ICM and possibly where do you apply it? In my coil compartment ( to the very right under the bigger connector) for the ICM there was a blob of some grease. Is it supposed to be there? And if so what grease is it? For the new ICM AC Delco gives a pack of grease to put on the female connectors, but where exactly? And nothing said to put into the coil compartment. Do you put any grease on the metallic plate of the module? My original Module is the same (2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, Eco Tec 2.2 engine). What is that yellowish crystallized stuff in the old coil pack? It is the same in mine.
@@Jbolanos10 Thank you, I also found through some research that this ICM doesn't need any cooling w/grease since have inside cooper slug sink under transistors (as far as I can understand). So just dielectric grease on the connectors to prevent water.
2 things: His Misfire was a simple/ fast fix. And secondly why switch the screws out to TORX? Same thread pitch? Even so; Its uncommon? I dont like having more tools then I need?
I have a 09 chevy malibu 2.3, it also has a misfire but it's very random, no code while the engines running but it will idle a little rough sometimes at a light and will jerk. After a little it'll go away, took it to a shop and they couldn't duplicate the problem. Started out by replacing the spark plugs. It accelerates and drives fine just at idle it has a slight misfire
No codes while engine running huh?? 🤔 Try cleaning the throttle body , make sure to disconnect battery before you remove and start disconnecting harness ... If you don’t disconnect battery you might have to do a relearn and it’s not really hard but just to save you time
@@Jbolanos10 the throttle body did look a bit filthy I'll give it a shot. Just weird how random the misfire is, sometimes it does sometimes it won't do it at all which what happened when it was taken to a shop to get looked at
@@knighthore3457 😂!!! I know right , there’s been a few time that it has happen to me with one on my previous car, car be acting up when you driving but as soon you take it to a shop it jut starts working right away and won’t do it anymore
That is what I was told. Broken nipple or missing. Mine does the same runs great but come to a stop it wants to die. Have to keep my foot on the gas just a little.
jimmy hall there should be a 10 mm screw in front of the transmission ... not sure if it’s with the car running or off you take it off completely and check if it spills out then is full if it doesn’t is low.. to add there should be a big screw on top of transmission like size 19mm you add from there..
Hey how's it going?? I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt and I'm having problems getting gas up to the top also when I press in the fuel valve nothing comes out have replaced fuel pump and spark plugs but still no luck can u help wit some tips on trouble shooting
You replaced the fuel pump and there is still no gas comin up to the valve !?! Ok so the first thing I would do is check for a fuel pump fuse and relay .. if they ok I would check for voltage on the harness going to the fuel pump.. if you replaced the fuel pump and came with new harness most likely the polarity on the new pump changes so make sure thr you change the cables if it comes with the ones and see which one goes where
does the 09 Cobalt LS 2.2 actually have an IAC sensor? or is it part of something else on that version? If it has one not sure where it is located but I assume it would be on or near the throttle body
Rudy Paul if you already replaced the plugs, coils, fuel pump .. why was the fuel pump replaced??? Is any of the coil not firing up?? Do you have a catalyc code???? Clean your Maf and IAC sensor if problem still persist a cam/crank sensor could be related to... but using a compression gauge check on each cylinder should be greater than 120
Put electric grease inside the rubber boots, and then when you put it on you have to put a lot of downforce on it and wiggle it back and forth until it seats in there. It is a kind of a pain in the ass. But I also had an electric impact nut driver. But you probably already seen all that s*** already cuz your post is over a year old. But I guess I saw a pretty girl in the picture and I probably just wanted to feel cool just answering the question. I'm just an effing dumb s***.
hey man good video but i have a question maybe you can help me out but my cobalts check engine lgth blinks only when i go faster any chance you migth know or anybody can help me what is the problem ..if is a missfire or something more then that ,,?? thanks
If it flashes it got to be a misfire going on.. If no check engine light is on, get you a basic code reader for like 30$ and plug it in when it flash you should have at least a pending code ... or if you have had the plugs and coil replace, it could be a clogged injector or bad, dumping to much fuel
I can see the immediate problem before even going any further into the video.....the throttle plate is stuck open.....so my guess is you either cleaned the plate so it could close or you replaced the throttle body.
Christopher Bradley hey a p0171 is a lean code .. I would check the mass air flow “MAF” and spray it off really good and while you on it, also a good idea to remove and clean the throttle body ... before doing so, disconnect battery cables for like 5-10 mins
Christopher Bradley purge value??? You mean purge valve . And if codes come back look around and listen for a vaccum if no vaccum could be o2 sensor , clogged catalyst or low fuel pressure .. a fuel additive should help a little
