    Perfectly explained! I moved into a new house that had a humidifier and this saved a lot of confusion.

    How can you test to see if water is even flowing to the humidifier? I havd Aprilaire 400. Also, there's no mark on the filter, how do I know if it's installed correctly?

    Do you need to turn the power off to replace the water panel?

    I've had the 600 model for quite some time. I don't understand why the filter pad now remains dry. It used to feel wet when it was running and you could see the water droplets. Now, nothing.

    I also have a 550 model and the drainage tube looks like algae stuck to the sides. I also notice in summer that a copper tube connected to it had ice. Why did that happen? Oh one more question do I have to turn off all electricity to do this changing filter process?

    I followed to procedure to replace the panel but the change water panel light is still blinking. What should I do? Are there additional steps to reset the control panel?

      Hello Robert, turning the knob on the humidistat clockwise into test mode should have fixed the issue. If you are still having trouble, we recommend you book a service call. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Jerry we have the 600 model and the water is not moving at all through the
    unit,I took the cover off and turned the the water supply on and off.I did replace the
    filter, but after a few nose bleeds figured something was not working. Richard.

      +Richard King that's most likely the solenoid valve...take it off and clean it or test it if its working. If not working replace it...or see if its getting power to it.

    I have a question. I just had the model 500A installed and its on automatic mode. Is it normal for the furnace blower to turn on but not humidifier sometimes? The Rh readout on the humidistat says 43% and I have the dial around 6.

    Thanks for the video. I have the AprilAire Model 560 with an old style humidistat. I have to constantly move the dial to keep the humidity levels where I want them. Can it be replaced with the automatic dial?

    • @JerryKellyHVAC
      @JerryKellyHVAC  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be best to update your humidifier. Retro-fitting the dial is not something we would recommend. Hope this helps.

      I replaced my manual dial with the aprilaire automatic dial and it works great. Using a Bryant humidifier. You'll need to electrical savyness though to do it, and wouldn't recommend normally. Keep in mind that you'll also need an outside temp sensor installed for the auto option.

    What do you do if there's mold growing on the humidifier? I know it's the cooling season but I want to get that problem taken care o before the heating season arrives. I have an older Aprilaire Model 550 humidifier installed, possibly in 2004 when the system was replaced.

    Connect the humidifier to the fan. This way ,you increase the humidity during the coldest day.

    Hey Brian I have another question. Ive had my unit in use for a good 3 months now at max setting (7) and today I noticed at the base of a the unit was some water drips. I took the cover off and noticed some sediments/sandy looking stuff inside the actual cover and at the base of the filter is that normal? nothing looked out of the ordinary with the connections though.

    • @naimosman9699
      @naimosman9699 9 ปีที่แล้ว
