Outstanding trip report. I've flown ANA's B777-300ER many times, but as long as I remember, all of them were 3-4-3 configuration. Choosing the Japanese option on ANA flights is always a wise choice although the another option is often well-made too. Liked and subscribed

ANA is the best airline in Asia
@michmanusa is absolutely correct unless you have a segment operated United Airlines combined with All Nippon Airways. My mother was unhappy with that and With her saying Asia's first Airline Philippine Airlines beating All Nippon Airways. In reality, it's the other way around the Japanese carrier beating the Filipino Legacy Carrier.
Keep in mind that the same flight here has Filipinos going back to MNL from Chicago ORD. however, when I asked them between this one or Taipei Eva Air, they would rather choose TPE layover because of the same time zone it has with MNL🇵🇭
Haven’t heard of a 2-4-3 config in economy before and I find it very interesting! It’s still as dense as a 3-3-3 config which is plenty comfortable for economy but this also gives you the option of flying on the 2 seater config side of the place which can be even more comfortable (like in the Airbus a330/340 seating layout).
I love the Japanese airlines!
@@Savethemanuals94 that to be common on other aircraft MD-11 early B747s pre 1973 oil crisis & MS B777-266/ER a 2-4-3 layout.

ANA sure has one of the best configurations on their older B777-300ER cabin :)
Sadly their refurbished cabin is in a 3-4-3 configuration
What makes this unique is that it has a 3-4-2 layout on B777-300/ER if you look across the Sea of Japan in South Korea Southwest to Singapore Hong Kong special administrative region Thailand Republic of the Philippines Republic of Indonesia People's Republic of China and Republic of Taiwan airlines there which are BR/CI🇹🇼 PR🇵🇭 CX🇭🇰 SQ🇸🇬 TG🇹🇭 GA KE/OZ🇰🇷 they go 3-3-3 or 3-4-3 in B777s. Keep in mind there are some B777-381/ERs having 3-4-3 while rival JL opted for 3-3-3. Service wise equal to or exceed ME3 airlines if headed towards the Philippines from Chicago O'Hare NH/JL🇯🇵 BR🇹🇼 CX🇭🇰 & KE🇰🇷 do you have an advantage over the Middle East carriers is that the flights to Manila are much shorter than the Middle East carriers which forces you to do an overnight layover followed by 9 hour flight to your final destination MNL.
