Hi dear, same happened with me. I took 18 classes on Unacademy. And finally kicked off due to less live learners. I got 190 followers and 80 hats. Unacademy ne ye sara marketing ke liye kiya. We all should unite together and raise voice against them.

I was about to join unacademy for an internship where I was to teach bio to class 12 students but my joining got late cz of kyc cz Mera PAN card nhi tha. I asked them to wait. PAN card takes time n they people were restless n really rude. I asked them to wait cz even I was helpless cz I was waiting for PAN. But they were like you r so careless n irresponsible etc etc.
I even heard from one of my classmate that she had done an internship with them n they told her that she needs a certain number of views on her videos on unacademy for payment or incentive.
Their too many demands n rude behaviour forced me to rethink about my decision of working with them n I'm so happy n feeling really proud of myself after listening to your story that I decided to back off 😊

I have taught at unacademy, firstly they hired me in the middle of the session, initially I was reluctant but as pandemic came I joined unacademy directly as a plus educator. It was a contract with me from March to till June. I was new to the platform, didn't knew any marketing, thought they would advertise me as well, as they do with old teachers of unacademy. Soon I realised it was all to get into the niche of exam students I knew. Every month I have been told that this doesn't work like this or that. Even every month they have changed my manager, the only person who was from begining to till the end of my contract was the tech support. Atleast in the span of 3 months I knew atleast 5-6 people from unacademy with whom I have to talk about my doubts and all. I have taught more plus courses, and took less free live classes, I didn't do any marketing of myself in those classes, except a few. But really it felt in the end, it's all business nothing else. The only people, who are with them from the begining of plus courses are advertised and branded, new ones even with better experience and teaching quality are just taken onboard to lure students onto their plus platform. I don't want to name anyone, but I know few people those who are still teaching, they are pathetic in their free classes, they advertise themselves as top educators in india, don't even know how to speak in a proper manner. They lure students by showing tips and tricks based on false promises and by putting big big names on their profiles, they did this and that, which is all false. They are other things as well, I understand whatever the content I made for them is their property because they paid me, but when I left their platform, why they are still using my name to promote it, even they don't show it to the students that this teacher is no longer with us. So, there are so many irregularities are there, I don't know how they are trying to do with the entire upcoming generation. And now even they have started for school children as well, that is not good at all, they want every children to be home sick by the time they get out of school, even that would impact the health of our children. The idea of online education should be for those, who are either out of school or doing somthing else, if they want to prepare with online teaching it's okay, but school children.....nope never.
This is new India, it's not just a case of Unacademy but with many other companies where they're hiring employees, make them work for 1-1.5 or even 2 months and not paying any money...

Hello ma'am, I would also like to share my experience . I tried sending them demo classes twice and they denied saying my handwriting was not legible however I wrote not more than 10 words in one A4 size sheet also there are some faculty members whose handwriting is pathetic . Now i realise that their strategy is to select only those who are already famous and can direct the traffic from youtube to their app.
I am blessed they didn't select me.

I've not seen your teaching methods but the confidence you talk with is great and I'm sure you are a good teacher. I teach Physics and was approached by unacademy staff a year and a half ago but even then I was sure of not joining any other platform rather than my own institute in Chandigarh. But I know many teachers who were the victims of this. All the best Ma'm. Work hard.

as per consumer protection act, a consumer is a person who buys a product or avail a service for OWN consumption and NOT for futher sale.. unacademy has not contracted with teacher that she can avail their platform service.. unacademy holds the position just like a school who is hiring teachers..
Teachers are not consumer of services of school because they have not contracted with school to use school's infrastructure to provide teaching services..
Actual consumer here are the students who are availing education services of unacademy.
its a civil court case since its a case of contract between teacher and platform provider..

The start up which cannot work hand in hand with their employees will fall down on their faces. Not only 1, many teachers have this complaint.
Just imagine, the founder gave GS paper 4 in UPSC Mains exam of Ethics, Integrity and Apptitude......nd showed high level of honesty etc in interview.....nd now see the real face of it.....

Exactly, you are very true, even I'm NEET Faculty and i was thinking to join Unacademy and I have applied too but soon i realized about their cheap tactics so i didn't proceeded further. And really it's very difficult for a new face on Unacademy to get 1000-2000 live students irrespective of how good u r teaching. Forget about the money mam, u did well to kick their a**es, hats off to ur courage that you shown while exposing the money minded greedy a**holes.
Many pvt institute and universities also have similar type of mindset. I have also bitter experience with one pvt. University regarding of money. After joining 20 days they asked me unusual contract to sign, that was not mention at the time of joining. Initially told no contract but after some time they changed all policies. They want to keep my all certificates, degrees and experience certificate and conditions ..not to apply any other better place...and many things. Simply I denied that job and kick them. Now I am independent and earning whatever...but I'm happy. But they became too rich keeping my 20 days salary....i've no isssue.
I feel really sad for you mam and for whole teaching fraternity.
Even I am a victim of this unfortunate situation. We teachers pour our heart for teaching students.
Not only unacademy but even other big brands are doing the same .
Let's hope this unfortunate condition ends asap.

This happened with in offline class also 😑😒....I was Semi qualified CA at that time and I had taken for TY BAF Taxation....I was the only one to complete the lecture before time but the owner of the class was avoiding to pay me......It took a lot of effort to get the money

Same thing happen with me.. I was selected and they said 2 month trail period and after that they;ll review my performance and extend my offer. I was plus educater till 2 month for UGC NET. My rating was 100% satisfaction. And I was on top against all the faculty. They told me that want to extend your offer but also want to increase the number of hours I was teaching . I said ok but you need to pay me accordingly. But they denied to increase that much . Even then I was agreed. And they told me we will send you offer letter soon. and each time they said yes we are working on it and after 1-2 month i realized that they are making fool. They are taking only those teacher who are taking less money. They don't take quality teacher. They don't see the review and rating of the teacher. Many students msg me for next plus classes but in the same way .. I had no answer....
