It is interesting to note that Chan Yun already was way ahead of his peers technically when he was a young teenager and found that he could only learn the ultimate technique from the late Ruggiero Ricci.
Chuanyun Li is fantastic. Unfortunately he suffers from lack of self confidence (you can find references of this in interviews and see it in some of his performances) which is really sad because he is nothing short of perfection. His variation on Paganini 24 and other pieces is insane. He takes hard pieces and makes them harder and more interesting then plays them perfectly. But it seems that he is a bit too nervous to play in front of so many people :(
Raoul, who is better? He, Chen, Chang? Vengerov, Kavakos, Hahn, Jansen, Bell, Shaham, Ehnes? Midori, Mutter, Zuckerman, Zimmerman? Perlman? Oistrak, Menuhin, Kogan, Grumiaux? Heifetz? Not meant to offend, genuinely curious who you like the best.
@@peteroh9319 Hi Peter, I like them all. They all offer us a lot of beauty. I also like Francescatti very much. But in this piece maybe Leonid Kogan? I am a violinist and studied with Grumiaux. But I retired and love to hear the enormous amount of good violinists nowadays.
@@raoultak holy smokes you studied with Grumiaux? That's amazing. What was he like? I'm a young violinist who is a big fan of his. I also like Leonid Kogan's version of this piece
Yessss Leonid Kogan!!!!! I will look up his interpretation. Will also see what Francescatti plays/played(?) I love discovering new (to me) violinists. As a student of Grumiaux, you’re probably the same generation as my uncle (retired violinist from Stockholm Phil). Congrats, you must be quite talented. Are you Belgian as well? His technique is no doubt among the BEST in the world, but somehow he is not famous due to some other reasons …. He behaves like a child sometime, but he is original and is my favorite forever…. Another best player but not so famous is Roman Kim. Both are my favorite ...
Roman Kim is an extraordinary violinist. Im a tennis fan. People say we’re lucky to get to experience Federer , Nadal and Djocovic. In music, the violin in particular, I feel we’re even more lucky to have the chance to experience a plethora of virtuosos. Surely, today we have more living great violinists (as well as other instrumental musicians) than in any other time in history.
@@laipo1175 Interesting thing is that Roman Kim is, besides a fantastic violinist, a component and even a inventor, which means he should be more creative. I think the difference between the two guys u mentioned is Kim play like da..da..da..da..da.., and Li’s like ~~~~~~, don’t know if you get me😅

I think choosing a best is highly subjective, but yes technically I think most agree he is the best. Moreover, for my ears,, I think his phrasing, intonation and musicality is sublime and yes the best.
The song that's in this mans heart is spectacular!! Been decades since an artist has made cry!!!
Such a relaxed interpretation! As if he's just playing for fun. Exquisite phrasing and musicality.
I teared up. How can someone has such trmendous amount of passion and perfect technique
It has more excitement than any other versions I've heard. Bravo!
Such beautiful sound starting @11.28, so clear and precise, amazing violinist !...
i have to hold my breath when listening this performance...fantastic!
Bravo! Just outstanding! Thank you. Wonderful accompanist too.
When I hear Chuanyun Li playing the violing I feel as If a were on the heaven. Is espectacular.

Just like Paganini, when he was alive, he is not that famous, and even called as the devil
he was still young and might be very famous one day!
He is brilliant.....genius. This is close to the best I have heard. Love him.

Hi Chaniggia, do you mind if i ask what violin is Chuan playing on this video? and where can i buy the same kind ?
It's a pity not seeing more of his work, or is he still active?

There are a lot of videos of him.
His name is Li Chuanyun
