All Naval Aviators shoot for what is known as a "3 wire". It is the next to last wire. The reason you go to MIL power setting is so that if the arresting cable fails or breaks, you're at full throttle and have a chance to get back in the air or at least clear the ship if you have to eject. On that first attempt, you had what is known as a "Ramp Strike". It's when you're too low and strike the stern of the ship.
The reason you go to MIL power isn't for arresting gear failure or breaks, it's if you miss the wire. If you catch the arresting gear and it snaps, you won't have enough power to get back into the air as it was already slowing you down.
Hi trev, I love your videos man. Ever wondered trying Digital Combat Simulator (DCS)? Btw, definitely you have improved a lot. Who knows you may fly for top gun by next year 😉😅
Day 2 of asking trev if he can do a series that I think he would like! The premise is people leave airport id’s (or names), and he takes off from there and goes and flies around the area. There are some really exotic places out there with great scenery and lots of unique airports, so I think it would be really cool. (Mine is PANC)
Okay…I love your sayings. You drop them in, in almost all of your videos haha Sometimes you’re skipping a dollar to make a dime 😂 love it. Where did you hear these, family i take it?
After practicing carrier landings in fsx for more than a decade , the very first landing on this carrier in 2020 I score an A with a score of 1.5million and some change, not too shabby for my first time trying to land in 2020, felt almost exactly like the FSX carrier landings
Can you play - The dark pictures anthology: Little hope It’s the game after man of medan , the quarry one was one of the best series you’ve done in recent times!
Love your videos. Only just came across them. I'd like to get into flight simulator - what controller do you use in these videos (the one with the joystick) please? Also, does it comes with the pedals?
Does MFS have trim for the F18 or do you need to use your stick? In DCS, you can adjust the trim to make minor adjustments to stay aligned and on speed without needing to touch the stick so you're basically only adjusting throttle as a whole but in these videos it seems people are using the whole stick to make adjustments which I could see why it's so difficult to do
When you end up below the glide slope, instead of putting the velocity vector above the horizon just bring it up a little bit and wait for the glide slope to catch up to you. You should also try DCS if you want a REAL carrier landing
Trevor love the vid man, just know you can’t go into that climb and invert every time like you tried to also it’s a fighter jet dude not a Cessna pull that stick left to right hard and go through the valley’s 😂
It's funny how much easier it is to land a Hornet (err, digitally at least) if you center the circular HUD FPV indicator (round circle with three bars coming out) inside the HUD E-shaped bracket (only shows up with gear down) with trim and then use throttle and side stick and rudder only to point the FPV at the deck/get on the ball. The FPV shows you the actual direction of the aircraft's travel moment to moment. Also I don't think Hornet pilots flare, they slam those suckers into the deck! But you came away with the points and walked away from an intact aircraft, that's the important part.
You're getting so close and your pitch attitude looks ok, you're just a touch heavy on the throttle when you're right about at the edge of the deck lol you should basically be feathering the throttle until the last minute when it prompts you to push it all the way in.
The carrier landing had me shook for a WHILE, took me like 3 hours total. Love the video!
Love the fighter jet videos especially after watching the new Top Gun !💪
Yeah!!
I love them too
Love em❤️
Why you think they start out at 40 plus dollars crooks.

This is one of the best channels I’ve watch
This was so satisfying to watch
Use your pitch to control your airspeed and your throttle to control your altitude when you're landing :D
Its reverse intuition, but this is the way.
i was listening and the drop hit as soon as you got an A on the carrier landing!
Not you gave a squirrel a haircut 🤣🤣🤣
19:39, that sounded so weird LOL
This video was awesome😍 just pure top gun vibes🙈

Needs a missile lock ability to give the ability to do mock dog fights such as in topgun 2, no missiles just the missile lock tone would be prefect 🙌
I knew you could do it lol! Love these videos keep them up!

it might be time for you to have a look at DCS now KEKW
love the fighter jet series, can you fly a fighter jet thru HOUSTON tx in a f-14?
When you end up below the glide slope, instead of putting the velocity vector above the horizon just bring it up a little bit and wait for the glide slope to catch up to you. You should also try DCS if you want a REAL carrier landing
if he can barely manage MSFS toy physics, forget DCS ;D
What was that sound🤣🤣🤣 19:41
Love you man
I remember watching your first landing that was a butter and u loved it but u are why to good
great video trev....hope i can get a xbox series s and get to play👍👍
Yes F-35 next! So stoked!
Does MSFS have the gliding/drifting affect that planes do when making sweeping pull up after diving?
Love this series
I love your videos man you do a great job!!!
hello TmarTn2, what joystick do you use for the simulator? and also for that joystick would it be for to pc version? cheers
the circle on the hud is where the plane is going, hope this helps
the fighter jacket is awsome
Love these vids :) great landing too!
The trick is the tadpole... Watch it, and use small power and stick adjustment to make sure it's on the end of the carrier.
Those 2 afterburners created so many forest fires
Trevor love the vid man, just know you can’t go into that climb and invert every time like you tried to also it’s a fighter jet dude not a Cessna pull that stick left to right hard and go through the valley’s 😂
Love the page dude im learning on msfs at the minute
Great vid! What joystick are you using if I may ask? :)
Great job! Dude. Wait till you fly the F-35!
Nuts! Just make sure you fly the B model for the STVOL features. The animations are boss.
what kind of stick do you use?

I wanna see Trev get is private pilot license in real life that would be fun to watch
Its just like trolling with a boat you have to have the right speed and the right path
Hello i was wondering What is your joystick called?
Do you use your rudders? I don't think I've seen you use them. Anyway, love your videos
What flight stick set up were you using
Which joystick do you use? Looks like you also have a separate throttle, can it be done w/o a separate throttle? (like with a thrustmaster t16000m?)
What flight stick do u use? Btw love the vid
This is insane
Hey trev why have you stopped playing fifa or have the fingers rusted a little?
Where did u get your f1 steering wheel and what is it called?
Great video
Couldn’t you use trim to float the ball?
Hey tmart! You should check out Mx vs Atv Legends! It just released and would a great addition for a series
