While not my style, the first home reminds me of growing up in the 70s. It really distressed me to think of anyone tearing that home apart, Laura! It's a living time capsule. Fantastic video, love you and Jesse on an adventure together ❤️ Thank you.
Hi Laura & Jesse, just a note about the 1st estate sale, the beautiful wall covering is very high end grass cloth! When I married in 1973 my husband (a painter & paper hanger) covered our living room with blue grass cloth wallpaper! It was gorgeous, but I loved the one @ the estate sale! Thanks for taking us along & keep on thrifting and shopping & sharing your finds with us! 😃💕Christina 🍋
That MCM house was beyond description. The wood doors and wall paper was AMAZING. That was a much loved home with so many unique features. There are a few in my neigborhood that I have seen (unfortunately) only in estate sales. Some, like that house) are like a work of art.
The best part of estate sales is checking out the house. 😂 I am so nosy about what a houses look like inside! That you can buy stuff in it is just a bonus.
That MCM house was everything! Try contacting the real estate agent who sold the house. Ask them to pass along the message to the new owner that you are interested if they should decide ti renovate. I love all your thrifting videos, but it is especiall fun to watch you and Jesse thrift together. Thank you for all the fun and vicarious thrills, Laura! x
For real, I am CRAY-ZEE into vintage towels! And Yes! I sell them! And keep some! And LOVE THEM! The patterns, colors, craftsmanship are Chef's Kiss! I appreciate that you all looked at the towels, and yeah I am grabbing the green one with the leaves that Jesse did not approve of, right through the screen! Gobble! ❤

Two years ago, when everyone was building gingerbread houses at Christmas I built a mcm house ! It had an atrium, carport and lots of windows. I got hot wheels cars, and little people. For Christmas I put up lights, trees, and snow and tiny presents. I still have it up but change it seasonally. ❤
That estate sale house is STUNNING the more I watch you and historic home renovations on HGTV the more I wish I could buy a historic home and restore and decorate it to perfection. Thanks for the information and inspiration
That cone with squiggly legs is cool , you can get mossy cone shape incert for a plant. Just a idea. Great experience seeing that awesome home with you and Jesse.
I know you guys are handy and I know Jesse is good at working with tools as well as you are . those benches the cement ones with the little pebbles on top are so easy to make I know you don’t believe me, but I have made them many times over and I have no expertise in that area and they have lasted for over 20 years. I continue to make them as well as pavers for family and friends. I made a little set of round stools to sit on with a little round table in the middle for my garden, (hosted many a tea party at it with my three daughters, and now my grandkids, and it is still in perfect shape ) but I have also made the rectangle and even the curved ones. The curved ones are a little more work because it’s hard to get the form for the cement just right but the round ones and the rectangle ones or square ones are so so easy. I would be happy to tell you how to do it but you can just as easily look up the tutorials online now days (didn’t have TH-cam when I started🤣)give it a try with a small paver/ stepping stone to begin with. Also, you can put any design on top that you like with the pebbles or sea glass or seashells. You can do imprints as well by putting different shapes or rope or anything you like then remove it after cement cures I’ve done some using faux greenery that turned out amazing. You just remove the pieces after the cement cures, but be sure and coat them with something so that the cement doesn’t stick to them. For the legs I have used plastic planters and other things . when cement is set I just cut it off to let it finish curing . I also learned that using rebar inside the larger pieces adds strength and prevents splitting. I know it sound like a lot but I promise it is so easy. If I can do it anyone can. I’m old 🤣😂 I also have health and mobility issues but that’s what power tools are for🤣😂
I used to work for an estate sale company and it was one of my favorite jobs ever! To see the amazing variety of items that people collected! Those aren't 1/2 pinter "measurimg cups"; they're 19th C pewter beakers (they would be tankards if they had a handle). Used primarily for drinking ale in pubs.

Oh my gosh, the estate sale house reminds me so much of the house I grew up in! We had those huge living room windows & a long planter box in our living room. We also had a teal sink & toilet in our bathroom. I remember my mom complaining about the bathroom colors all of the time, lol. She hated the teal & the cost of curtains to cover the large living room windows. It’s funny what we grow up to appreciate. I hope whoever buys that house leaves it as is, but sadly, they probably won’t 😭
I know what you mean about scent memories; when I was in Ireland, I bought a bottle of perfume called “Innis”; and whenever I smelled it, it reminded me of the lush hills of Ireland.

It’s simply amazing and sometimes unbelievable the great things one can find thrifting . Keep up the great work , I’ve learned a lot watching your videos.
Beautiful table for “Little Italy”. The areas you went to for estate sales had very nice homes! Which makes sense that you found such nice things. Again, I love your vintage cart you found! Good to see Jesse again! It’s so nice you both have this interest in thrifting and “the hunt” !
The mid century modern was a work of art. It would really suck if the new buyers came in and stripped it of all the character to this new stale grey and white trend everyone's doing now when they flip older homes. Such a beautiful home...sometimes I go to estate sales just out of curiosity of how nice the house is on the inside.
I loved that first house, too! It reminded me of the house I grew up in, but ours was on a smaller scale. My dad helped build our home. We moved in when I was 11 months old in 1956. I loved that autograph book; will now never forget the rhyme 'I love you a little , I love you big, I love you like a little pig'.😅 That wood lamp is gorgeous ❣️
A small purse because of my arthritis in my hands. Loved my large bags because I could put everything in them not only for me but my children when they were little.😊❤
Like many others I hope no one rips out the gorgeous mid century features in the estate sale home, what a tragedy that would be. Here in Australia it's a thing to buy old houses, knock them down and build crappy contemporary McMansions, it's enough to make you weep! Looking forward to more estate sales, this was a great video :)
Laura, I have a small vintage antique store in Navarre, Florida. I found one of those knife sets about 8 months ago too. I then found a single knife that is a carved fish and knew exactly what it was when I saw it!! You never know what your going to see or find.... I LOVE IT!!
How fun!! I went to Hawaii in 2006 and walked on a beach for 1.5 hours to find the set 😂 I got a picture in Sawyers hut and met the actor who plays Michael at a concert that night in Honolulu. Good memories! Great show 😆
Beautiful white bedspread Vintage towels are great. Brings back memories. What a beautiful MCM home. Love the table that you purchased. I have never seen a turkey knife set. Awesome.
Regarding redwood. Back in the day, maybe 70’s many craftmen were designing chairs, desks, table etc. out of redwood. My uncle still has a beautiful redwood desk he still uses. I think you could only use downed wood.
Hey! The art in the bathroom at 7:21 ended up at the Hazel Dell Goodwill a few weeks ago, the estate sale must have donated the leftovers!! I took a photo but left it behind since I don't decorate with pink. Lovely style though.
I think my favorite thing was the mid century wooden lamp. That mid century house with all the wood details and the indoor planter had so many unique items. I think I actually saw Jesse drool. LOL I tend to like a medium/large handbag, but since I retired and we had the pandemic situation, I am using crossbody bags. The farm table is perfect and some of the artwork you picked are beautiful. You did good girl!
Great haul Laura. Can't wait to see Little Italy 🇮🇹. Really curious to see how it turns out based on the various items you are collecting to decorate it. One thing's for sure... It will be fabulous!
Sweet estate haul! The Mid-Century house was killer! I'm so happy you purchased the Italian leather bag. It's worth every penny. I actually found a teak GOODWOOD magazine holder too. So cool!
So I'm team big and small purse. I use a cross body bag, made in Spain from leather scraps, for shopping that I keep in a vintage Coach "bucket" bag and I carry that in a Brighton canvas bag.
MCM home design was so interesting with such cool touches. I was at an estate sale awhile back and the record player was behind a cabinet that tipped down. Space saving and innovative.
We have a phrase in our family, "quirky turkey". We can't claim it, as it came from an episode of Bob's Burgers! That knife set is definitely " quirky turkey"😆😆
Oh good lord. I want that black & white wallpaper that is in the shop with the rustic clock. Love the leather italian bag too. Your taste & finds are exquisite. As a kid, I actually grew up in a MCM home.
You might be able to get an outdoor chair cover to fit the bar cart, or maybe a small table cover. You might be able to sew a cover by using a thick, heavy duty paint tarp and make your own pattern. The bar cart was a great find!
Oooh the coco channel table - glass top with the gold coloured wheat stalks - it was made famous as it was in her Paris shop. It’s a small side table but I love them ❤
I’ve really enjoyed watching your channel. Even got me out thrifting. Noticed you really like your southwest jewelry! My parents did shows for years and sold southwest jewelry. My Dad has past a couple of years ago and we are still sitting on a beautiful inventory of southwestern jewelry. I’m from Nebraska, so if you are interested just drop me a line on here.
I LOVE IT!!
Loved the house, I knew the bathroom would be pink & green! Great finds!
I ❤ big purses, I can not lie‼️
Woooo woooooo woooooo that house was crazy cool like I have no words Laura 😂😂😂❤ my nephew is a makeup artist and worked on LOST. He love it !
How fun!! I went to Hawaii in 2006 and walked on a beach for 1.5 hours to find the set 😂 I got a picture in Sawyers hut and met the actor who plays Michael at a concert that night in Honolulu. Good memories! Great show 😆
@@leftcoastrevivals oh yes great memories for you! That must’ve made Hawaii unforgettable 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The estate sale people look out the window and say,”We are going to sell out!! Jesse and Laura are here!”
Thank you! I’m so excited to finallllllly get it put together soon!!!
The scent hack is such an amazing idea! I'm definitely using that for now on, thank you❤
Yes! Spread the scent hack 🙌😂❤️
That is so Frank Lloyd Wright💜💜💜
Sweet estate haul! The Mid-Century house was killer! I'm so happy you purchased the Italian leather bag. It's worth every penny. I actually found a teak GOODWOOD magazine holder too. So cool!
Oh that lamp is amazing beautiful
So I'm team big and small purse. I use a cross body bag, made in Spain from leather scraps, for shopping that I keep in a vintage Coach "bucket" bag and I carry that in a Brighton canvas bag.
MCM home design was so interesting with such cool touches. I was at an estate sale awhile back and the record player was behind a cabinet that tipped down. Space saving and innovative.
I had a portable one that the turn table tipped down. The speakers were on each end and swung out or you could lift them off and spread them out.
Everything you bought and styled was absolutely gorgeous. That 1st Estate took my breath away.
You had some wonderful finds on today’s video, however the wooden turkey with the hidden knives was an epic find.🤗
We have a phrase in our family, "quirky turkey". We can't claim it, as it came from an episode of Bob's Burgers! That knife set is definitely
" quirky turkey"😆😆
I saw the first house on zillow a couple weeks ago and I absolutely loved it! So cool to see more of it in your video 😊
What was the asking price?
Awesome just as I was thinking about what to watch my girl comes through 🤩💕 yay xxx
Happy Wednesday! 😄❤️
That bird feeder was awesome. I have two that are in shape of trees. Birds go crazy..and squirrels.
A bbq cover might work too....
I favor large purses I carry my life in it, and what ever any one might need! Thats a beautiful find by the way I love it!!
Amazing finds! Thank you for taking us along!
Laura, the little rocking chair was bird's eye maple wood!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
I think you two people make a perfect couple l think it is a good thing that he has joined you on your thrifting trips godbless you both
Oooh the coco channel table - glass top with the gold coloured wheat stalks - it was made famous as it was in her Paris shop. It’s a small side table but I love them ❤
7:18 😂😂😂 I would be honoured to go towel shopping with you two!!!
Lol! That purple butterfly towel was my beach towel growing up for years in the 80's!
Keep up the great videos, you are so fun to watch. Lisa
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
