Great stuff as always fellas. Wow, that JC , JCS stat is incredible and very worrying. Pompey aren't as bad as the table suggests so I'm not feeling chirpy about this one. Come on you R's, give us some joy
Thanks a lot - yes that stat is crazy and if they are both missing on Saturday can we put the stat to bed? I'm doubtful, we just don't operate the same without them which is a major concern.
Why are we finding it so hard to be consistent. It has been a problem for so many seasons. We seem to have the players and staff, very very frustrating. Love the show
Glad you enjoyed the show and you are right about the lack of consistency. I spend the season preview asking could we find that consistency we've missed over the years - unfortunately the answer is no. We've yet to put in a 90 minute performance in 2 months.
Another honest assessment boys,I’m not expecting anything from our next 3 games. The players we have can only play a certain way and that’s not the way that Marti wants them to play.1-1 Sat,0-2 Tues,0-3 Sat.
@@Batteredhoop Saturday is so important because as you say if those next few results go against us it snowballs and then we are into November with no win since August. Massive match.
@@hoopsanddreamsQPR it’s looking like a wasted transfer window.Im beginning to get fed up going every other Saturday and watching us lose.Stopped doing away games 5/6 years ago.Wots the point.
We played a friendly against Wycombe. We played a full strength selection of our best players. Wycombe played kids and some players needing a leg stretch. We still lost, and apparently were dire. I honestly think we sadly have no hope against Portsmouth, who have played a lot better than their results suggest.
Yes that Wycombe result the club may have been best to not even publish it as it is concerning that we just seem to have lost the knack of scoring goals and winning games. We only scored 1 in the last 3 and that was a penalty. We need to see lots of improvements on Saturday!
I acknowledge EDB has been very poor in his appearances this season, but if Colback is still injured, Varane is suspended and Madsen doesn't look comfortable in that deeper role then maybe it's worth giving EDB another chance. At least he tries to pass forwards and never hides away from wanting the ball.
@@hoopsanddreamsQPR I think it was in your previous video that Brian suggested trying Dunne as a DM, if Colback is still injured and he's not needed at CB due Fox (or JCS of course) being available. Would need to have Ashby or Santos at RB in that case of course and though pretty marginal I think I'd prefer Ashby. As for Dunne as a DM, many people thought he wouldn't be suited to RB but as we know he turned out to be a pleasant surprise, so might he turn out well in midfield as well? I dunno for sure, but whatever it will be interesting to see what Marti does - EDB, Madsen or (unlikely I guess) Dunne? Whatever, after our last 3 poor results I'd imagine he'll be doing his best to ring the changes...
@@bugbait42 Dunne would certainly add physicality and win a lot of 50/50 balls in there. I just can't see Marti ever doing it or risking it in an important game.
Thanks Chaps - I feel your pain Dave Derby was a shocker and our midfield is a mess. I think Portsmouth will beat us unless Marti makes a change to the system.
Lloyd seems to have fallen out of favour in recent games not even getting off the bench. He's basic but he does just drive at players and forces defenders back, so could be worth a shot. Can't realistically see him getting in ahead of the others though.
@hoopsanddreamsQPR personally I think he is very positive and direct player...deserves a chance for me, sumins gotta change formation or personel as we're not scoring aswell as not defending, I'm sure you know by now my opinion on celar..but always hoping he proves me wrong

Great review, Marti needs to change tactics if we are to survive. Play 3 in midfield and attack with purpose. Currently we are so laboured in attack when we eventually get into the final third the opposition have 10 men behind the ball. Apart from corners and penalties we have only scored with breakaways in open play.
Thanks a lot - and you are right to say we are laboured in attack. It's all in front of the opposition and too easy for them to just sit there as we play the ball around. We need a lot more impetus and movement going forward. Hopefully Chair being back to full fitness can help us in that area 🤞
Its a tough one. At the moment we look a bit clueless and I don't really understand how we got here. Marti needs to go back to basics for a while and just stop losing. I will go home with a smile if we have a dull 0-0 draw hoping we can restart our season from there.
That's a good way of putting it - I don't understand how we got here either! Totally unexpected. I really thought we'd be better than we are. As I said in the show we need to hope we've drawn a line in the sand and we improve from here.
I think the point made that we are hard to watch tells it all. We miss Sinclair...I know he missed shots but that energy was infectious. Very experimental side and this is why we are so exposed.
@@seanhowlett6293 I agree on Sinclair, he was raw, but he scared teams and was a clear Plan B and helped us stretch teams. Now all of our play is in front of teams and too easy to defend against.
Good show again. Keeps getting better. Should be 1 or 3 points at home against Portsmouth. Anyone else think a transfer deal to swap Andersen and bring back Willock is needed? U RRRs!!!
We appreciate you saying that! 100% we need something from this game, but I sense even a draw won't go down well. Andersen is off the boil but Willock is barely getting a look in at Cardiff though which speaks volumes.
Like I've said before, Marti needs to get the spine of the team sorted. JCS and Colback missing games doesn't help. Nor does a misfiring attack and a leaky defence. Hopefully, the new signings have gelled more over the international break. Chair's return should help as he's a game changer.
I think what you miss is what Chair did after coming on at Derby. Taking the ball off the GK or CBs and dictating play, playing forward. Whether it's Chair or not, this is the obvious missing piece.
And what about the great buy, Celar? I watched a youtube video of his goals scored over the last few years. Virtually all of them come from a angled cross into the box, where he runs through and scores from the 6 yard area. QPR seem to have played him like a hold up CF, which he just does not do! Poor scouting and a waste of money as he will go nowhere.
@@garyparker-x3v Yes every video shows he's a fox in the box, very Austin-esque, he needs the ball quick and early and then the videos show he has good movement and finishing. Aside from the Plymouth game I can't think of any good chance we've created for him in any game. So you are right... why did we sign a striker like that when we need a target man in this system?
Another good show guys, thanks. I agree it's very hard to find any positives from our dismal performance against Derby and without Colback I'm not sure how that gaping hole in midfield can be filled, but from an attacking point of view I wonder what you think of Bennie from the little we've seen of him so far? From the brief cameos he's had so far, seems he could be promising I think.
@@bugbait42 Thank you - Bennie looks bright, he needs a bit longer on the pitch to make a real impact and show what he can do. Against Derby though he put a great header back across the 6 yard box and was visibly frustrated nobody got on the end of it. He just needs a proper opportunity.
Lacklustre is the word so far. It’s not just the midfield it’s all over the pitch. Let’s hope Marti has a plan B for the rest of the season. I was truly looking forward to this season but so many players have dropped off performance wise. Marti is going need his magic wand !Thanks lads and COYR’s !
Absolutely we are lacklustre. Poor to watch and easy to beat. I think if this week doesn't go to plan it will be the trigger for changes. We know from the past Marti has cut players out completely once he realises they aren't doing the job for him.
Problems seem to be defence always going to conceed at least 1( more with Dunne in middle) The centre mid is unbalanced and weak. The forwards struggle to actually effect score board wity goals and assists. It perfect recipe for stuggles again.
I agree, I can't see us winning with this style of play. Marti seems to be giving the players more credit then they deserve.. This simply isn't working. 0:1 my prediction.
We have to hope Chair coming back and maybe one of Colback/JCS makes a big difference. If not that 0-1 prediction could well be right. If it's more of what came before, we are going to struggle.
