- Ah My dear guest. Here is a clip from the early years of Monster Movie Matinee. I know you all have been just DYING to see the early black and white footage. There are plenty more clips in the vault here at the mansion. Most we will be saving for the documentary Monster Movie Memories that is currently in production now. I remember watching this every saturday morning with siblings and cousins. So much fun when the theme music started.

Loved this show growing up in Horseheads, NY. It was where I got introduced to all of the Universal Monster movies. Love that opening music.
OMG This was what I looked forward to every Saturday at 12:30 on channel 3 in Syracuse. I watched "Them" and "Tarantula" and "Invasion of the Crab Monsters" while having Lorna Doones and chocolate milk. Loved it.
Yep this signaled that cartoons were over for the day but was fun to watch in its own right, to be sure! I didn't always watch the movie itself--just the beginning and intermissions when these guys came back on with their "skits" always more entertaining than the movie itself!
This brings back some wonderful memories as a kid growing up in Mattydale. I got hooked at an early age and loved to be scared. I watched a lot of classic horror flicks with my sister, even the low budget "B" flicks seemed great at the time. I tried to catch every episode whenever possible. The scariest movie I remember was It! The Terror from Beyond Space. Thanks so much for posting as I haven't seen this opening scene for more than 45 years....Warm regards, Norm
Grew up in Auburn watching this program. This was awesome.
Every Saturday afternoon at 1:00 on Ch. 3, WSYR, Syracuse. During the 60s & 70s. I loved Dr. Witty's laugh as he exited. I can do it pretty good even though he had an echo chamber.
This was always the highlight of my week. That and Saturday nights there was "Chiiiilllleeerrrrr" theater 😄👍
The one thing that scared me about MMM was the slide with the hand with "Monster Movie Matinee". I just wish TV could be fun the way it was back then.

yeah, I imagined that the rest of him was too scary to show and it was pretty creepy to me as a kid, yet I loved watching it just the same.
Does anyone remember who lived in Upstate new York back in the 60's 1260AM WNDR radio station Count de Creep showtime and roseblood?
