I do love this movie and think its great that they featured dinosaurs that the general public dosent pay attention to (like Carnotaurus), but they should have used Giganotosaurus as the main antagonists.
I adored this movie as a child, and, I even had all the figurines of the characters. I actually still have my Eema plush toy to this day. Some things in this movie were inaccurate, however, the models, skin textures, and animations for this movie are amazing. The CGI used for this movie is even better quality than the CGI used in Disney's recent live action films, like The Lion King (2019). The Carnotaurus model was gorgeous, yet menacing at the same time- although I felt it was too bulky and large, like a T. Rex. Most of the herbivores shown in this movie (Parasaurolophus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Styracosaurus, and Iguanodon) were actually larger than Carnotaurus, which was a lightly built, fast abelisaurid theropod that was much smaller than what was seen in the film. They could have used Acrocanthosaurus or Giganotosaurus instead, which would have been equally as terrifying. The Velociraptors in this movie were structurally accurate, but, they lacked feathers- which is something that most dromaeosaurids had. They could have used Utahraptor, or even Deinonychus (which were bigger species of "raptors") to make it even more intimidating. The Iguanodons would have looked better with beaks in my opinion, as the lips kind of look weird. Other than that, amazing movie!
Crazy that Jacks T.rex scavenger theory was so prevalent back in the day by these Hollywood types, probably since he was the JP consultant that he must be right, even though it was completely flawed
So they "cheated" biology to make the characters more expresive and appealing. Well, that's great. That's what animation does and that's why it's an artform and not a science. And you know what? Lion King 2019 should learn from this. I much prefer this to that.
Honestly, I rewatched this, like, fifteen minutes ago then went hunting for the 'making-of' videos, again... and guess what? The only real *problem* was that they forgot the animation for the footsteps: subtle sand movement when a foot presses down, rocks moving, etc. on the non close-up scenes. Ignore that and it's still golden.
Well this was back when Computer Animation was Created on Old Box Shaped Computer's like Window's 98 or so but CGI was just Simple back then not very Detailish & High Quality that were now Used to nowadays :)
Disney seriously need to make more dinosaur films like this again! They should not remake classic films, no more Encanto-style cartoons, and Marvel any more.

Dinosaur and The Lion King are my two equal favourite Disney films of all time! Questions though! If they took inspiration for Eema’s beak from a parrot, why couldn’t they do the same for Aladar? 🧐
They studied the muscle structure of the Iguanadon and felt that when the characters of that species spoke, it looked like two coconuts tapping with each other.
Maybe they could've made a fun-to-learn documentary programme using the same CGI as this movie! (But upgraded to match the realism, aswell as some artistic value that brings the feel of a nostalgic 1990s nature documentary). I mean, yeah, we already have Walking With Dinosaurs, but what I'm saying is that I want a documentary similar to this, but with music from that early 1996 presentation reel (Know what I mean?), a cast of nearly all the dinosaurs from the movie, aswell as newer ones that are relatively unknown to the public! :D Man, I would love to see that if this was happening!
Ya know, when I first watched this movie i wasn’t known to the concept of extinction. But now that I’m an adult, does anyone else feel bad for Baylene being the last brachiosaurus left in the world? I mean, couldn’t they add some brachiosaurus to the herd to save their species or something? I mean I get that it’s the Cretaceous and brachiosaurus lived during the Jurassic, but when it comes to one of the characters ending up the last of her species there are some thing you have to put to mind
Asia back in the prehistoric era was probably a chain of islands like Hawaii or the Galápagos Islands with China being the biggest of the island chain with a very active volcano and lush forest followed by Thailand, Philippines, Burma, Laos, Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan and some parts of Indonesia.
