    There is also an outstanding debt owed to Comcast for over payments from a couple years back. OSU & WSU would want that money to be paid back out of the current revenue and not out of the conference's reserves or assets

    • @JohnOdermott
      @JohnOdermott ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the Comcast debit is being paid down during the current academic year by Comcast reducing the payouts to all 12 schools. From what I have read and heard, by June 2024 that debt will be down to zero.

    If AAC and MWC merged, I would look at 2 divisions and 9-10 conference games.
    Conference champion could get away with 2-3 losses and still be considered for CFP

    And just so you know, this midyear distribution money was not part of the bylaws of any sort it was just an agreement between the 12 teams to distribute a percentage of the money midseason it’s not a law.. Therefore, we are not permitted to give it to them.

    Good for OSU and WSU. The other 10 want to raid the conference assets and not be subject to the liabilities. What has happened to these two schools is insane. OSU and WSU no longer in a P5 conference, but Wake Forest, Duke, Northwestern, Iowa State, UCF, Houston, Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Illinois, Vandy are? College football is being ruined.

    Good for OSU & WSU, they are the only 2 remaining members, why would they give any funds to departing members.
    It's not a matter of needs or wants, it's a matter of contractual obligations!

    With student athletes transfering to other Universities there should be player development cost associated with that as well per position.

    The only merger that I’d really like to see is SUN BELT X CONFERENCE USA

    • @michaelwall3393
      @michaelwall3393 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From a geographical perspective it seems to make sense to have CUSA and SBC merge as one large entity. But the SBC is by far the strongest and best and deepest Non-Autonomous conference these past two years or seasons and is not debatable. The SBC has also shined in other Non-Olympic Sports and Olympic Sports over the past five years.
      So they would not water down their own efforts and strides by taking on extra teams; that in reality, were either former members to begin with or looking to do the ignorant thing that AAC and MWC have done in recent years especially AAC last year and this year in trying possibly grabbing markets instead of traditional sports programs that win. Also as of now only 4-5 of the soon to be 12 football teams conference in CUSA bring value in football and in all sports, and two of those do have market value too.
      The AAC is officially regressing and as I said at the start of the season, the moves made by AAC have detrimental impact to their own objectives. Several schools like Tulane were cowards who don’t mind going to a conference that the superior football program in Southern Miss is in but did not and did not want to reciprocate the same thing by having Southern Miss join AAC out of fear and ignorance. Tulane and other schools along with the four that are no longer in the league and soon to be SMU too made Aresco job more difficult along with the networks blocking key adds that should have been made over the years and especially the last two years.
      UTSA, FAU, UNT were the right ones to choose but not the other 3. Those other teams would not be plucked from CUSA by any other organization and would still be there to add right now. I stand by my 2-2-2-2 model for adding schools to AAC to further improve their performance and position in all (ALL) College Sports. If not 2-2-2-2 model then 2-2-2 model; since added Army starting next year. I would consider making and persuading both Service Academies to be all in as much as possible for multiple reasons. Then if AAC were to do a merger it could be a half and half scenario.

      @@michaelwall3393 I'm stunned that 3 of the top 4 teams in C-USA were new to the conference this year; the ever-solid Western Kentucky is keeping up with them, but they're about the only one. Not counting newcomer Sam Houston, the other four teams (UTEP, La Tech, Middle Tennessee, and FIU) have been in the FBS for many years and haven't really done much. The FCS callups for the Sun Belt greatly strengthened that conference; App State, Coastal Carolina, and James Madison are all relatively new to FBS, newer than those C-USA schools. I can't figure out why they are stronger programs; perhaps those Sun Belt schools have stronger football cultures because they were more successful at the FCS level? They certainly do have raucous fanbases that make for very hostile places to play as a road team; that Georgia Southern game on NFL Network when they hosted Coastal was LOUD. They were rocking the network cameras every time they scored. The Sun Belt is superior to the C-USA at this point, and maybe the best G5 league overall. It's hard to say if JMU would have beaten Troy if they had the opportunity to play for the Sun Belt title, but if they would have, JMU would be playing Oregon. The fact that the Sun Belt is the only G5 league that has never gotten that NY6 bid is just not right. They do tend to beat each other up and take each other out of contention, since they are all pretty competitive.
      I do hate it for Old Dominion, though. Western Kentucky has demolished App State and South Alabama the last two years in bowl games. That's one bowl I'm pretty confident about my pick on. Okay Monarchs: show me.

    I believe that these issues can and should be settled. But the departing schools will need to have a totally different attitude than they had 9 months ago. Perhaps they can agree to purchase an insurance policy to cover potential liabilities, and agree to some method of accounting that would allow them to get at least some of what they think they deserve. The biggest problem that the treasonous ten have is the manifest arrogance of at least some of their members. Those members should go into hiding and let more down to earth folks do the talking for them.

      Not sure what laws you are referring to. For these mid school payments (approx 5 mil per school), nothing is in writing, it has just been that way for many years. OSU & WSU are not taking payments either. All payments of the 60 mil are being with held..

    Oregon State and WSU would have jumped eagerly to whatever power 4 conference showed interest.
    None did.
    The conference died as we know it Aug 1
    Sad but reality is what it is.
    By nature the conference was the collective not individual.
    Give them the assets that remain. That's fare.
    But the media deal is for the collective not the individual

    • @jeh58
      @jeh58 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liabilities need to be covered first prior to dispersing the monies. After the ten are gone it would be hard to go after any monies with out some kind of formal agreement. If the ten agree then they can talk about the current payments. Pretty simple, isn't it?

      A possible solution to remedy reviving PAC from Death Nail and Allow western Colleges to continue existence for next 5-10 years. Hoping that former Members return, after learning Traveling Yearly Budget Losses due to FBS Natty Protocols 14+ Team Conference req + Title 9 BS might not be Best option vs FCS or Football Autonomous Subdivision for Paid Athletes wo Title 9 Implications schools having only 65 Scholarships + Transfer Portals. If MWC + BSC + PAC2 merge it could draw both N / S Dakota Schools to PAC East. PAC-12 Members leaving occurred due to Media Rights and Not pending Final 2 Years of Broadcasting Payments / Deal being Formed or Completed. Some University wanted to Leave due to PAC-12 current Administrations Mismanagements past 5-10 years, expecting 40-50m yearly Budgets vs projected 20-30m staying and Carrying other Conference Members having worse Viewers / Attendance Financials on Basketball and Football Fronts. FYI: I’m a USC / UCLA Fan still feel bad that the Conference Realignments / Transfer Portals / NIL Deals / Paid Athletes killed the PAC Conference in the End it was all about Money. cronkitenews.azpbs.org/2023/12/11/pac-12-conference-realignment-athlete-mental-health/

      @renerobles64 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aaronbrown9156 of course they would reject paying a Settlement Fee requesting getting paid in Full before Leaving. USC / UCLA didn’t have a say after 2022 now it’s other 8 Teams leaving vs putting up a Fight to keep PAC alive. Both OSU and WSU are not liable for departing members future earnings though are subject due to 2 year losses in PAC Prestige and want to have a Fund incase future NIL and other Future Lawsuits might be liable to soon. Hence let’s leave some money in a Rainy day fund until 5 Years pass then get those sent Later. No OSU and WSU can’t keep 100% of Out going PAC12 Members their Guaranteed Funds / Payments, asking to keep for 5-20% of it for 5 Years before being paid in Full. Allowing them to Realign with other Colleges for Athletic Sports and Academic Pursuit’s.
