Thank you for this!! I’ve always loved the sound of lutes and I would love to learn, so I’ll have to look into some of these places! (Hopefully I can get one, if not I’ll have to settle for borrowing one from friends at my local Renaissance festival I work at lol)
I'm looking to build one, I have built some nice dulcímers and other medieval instruments. Where can I find a decent set of plans? What number of courses should i look for as a guitat player? Thanks for the help, Sir
Hello, I come from quite a small country and have not been able to find a lute society near me. It is also quite hard to get things shipped here and things tend to start getting to twice the original asking price, this would of course be wayyy to much when I am just starting out. Are there any possibly European based shops or makers you know of that would be a nice place to start looking? I am first and foremost looking for a renaissance lute ranging from 7-8 courses. Any help would be much appreciated thank you:)
First of all: check how much it will cost for you to import to your country new sets of strings from Italy as you'll regularly need them. I gave up and return to guitar because of this.

Look for Muzikkon Lutes, Ireland.
would you recommend a 7c or 8c instrument?

Thomann, everytime brother. Lute societies cost way too much money for membership and rentals.
Brother, how do I contact you, I need help with my Baroque guitar,
Lutes are still way more expensive than entry level guitars.
Especially when you consider the fact that you can reproduce the timbre of a lute with a guitar and a capo.
@@Redhollowno you can’t. Guitar sucks and so do you.
