    could this be used to power an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass etc on stage in a live setting. what power conditioner do you recommend on a budget. would this run on a 9v/5v power bank?

  • @antoniopetroff979
    @antoniopetroff979 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you for the review. The conditioner is a great tip! I bought mine for 35$ used but it came with a 12v dc power supply. The meter lit up but not the tube. Make sure that everyone is aware that it needs 9VAC power (not 9vdc pedal supply) So i don't think that you can power it with a battery.

    Hi bro, can you suggest setting on the art tube mp equivalent to what the cloud lifter does?
    because I have an art mpa2 and the sm7b but apparently I'm missing 20 db of gain so I'm planning on using the art tube mp in the chain.
    for example: sm7b to the art tube mp (instead of a cloud lifter ) then to the art mpa2.
    thanks !

    I’m bought one back when they had the vu meter for $30. It’s the best unit you can get in this range. Must have for recording. If you don’t have any mic preamps for recording this is a great option. My tube hasn’t needed replacement in 8 with light usage.

      they sell on ebay used for $20 or even less all the time. You can buy one of these brand new but that'll run you like $50. Either way, not a bad price for a preamp with a ton of gain and a very low EIN

    • @soulopoppop
      @soulopoppop 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is all experimental. But you would want your vox coming in at around -18 for good heard room. You can always turn it up in the mix. Ball a first and stick your thumb and pinky out.... place your thumb on your lips and your pinky in your pop filter. That’s a good starting distance to record. Adjust from there

    What if I were to plug it into a power strip that’s plugged into an extension cord that is plugged into the wall? Will I still run into that static issue?

    • @UndergroundSoundProductions
      @UndergroundSoundProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was actually wondering the same as well and according to the furman power conditioner I use, you may still run into static issues with a power strip since it’s not actually filtering the electricity like the furman for example would. Here’s a link to the one I use and read all the descriptions on it. They do a great job covering why it’s important to have one www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/M8x2--furman-m-8x2-power-conditioner

    • @JEBJOSH
      @JEBJOSH 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just ordered the Furman power conditioner. I'll see if it'll eliminate the noise. The amp gets noisy when I increase the output gain

      @@UndergroundSoundProductions What about using an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)? Do you think there is sufficient power filtering/conditioning in one of those units? BTW, I have two of these in the studio and really sound great...except for the buzzing/humming. They have been collecting dust for years now because of this issue. Seems like a power conditioner might be a way to bring them back into the mix, so to speak.
