    Bicycle disc brakes can squeak if the pads have been contaminated by oil, grease etc. When the pads wear out (or you replace them early), don’t forget to wipe down the rotors with isopropyl alcohol or methylated spirits before you put the wheel back in. They may also just need re-adjusting to get the pad/rotor alignment right and stop a resonance. I’ll leave that one to a TH-cam tutorial, but basically you loosen the calliper, spin the wheel, apply that brake, and while you continue to squeeze the brake lever you tighten the calliper bolts back up.

    The "hands-on" modifications are easy and you did a fine job.
    You kinda ran through the programming of the controller without taking about anything except the brightness of the display.
    I hope the controller comes with decent directions and detailed explanation of the programming.
    The other thing you sort of glossed over was the technical details of the two controllers. Most people can match the proper battery voltages and understand that higher amps = extended range and not more top end mph.
    I have an AKEZ 48v dual battery(26a total) fat-tire that I'm planning on installing a 52v 24a LiPo4 as an auxiliary. Already got the anti-spark 3-way connector and module that prevents sudden discharge to the 48v batteries.
    At some point in the future, I may install a motor on the front too.
    I'll hafta keep in mind the total current draw, unless I decide to have two separate controllers and throttles.
    Anyway, thanks for your video.

    Love my Z1, got it on sale for $1150 with no interest installments. The mechanical disc brakes are just okay, however I do agree, they squeal loud. The sound hasn't faded either since I've had the bike for a few months now. I just bought hydraulic brakes and will be swapping those on and also removing the speed limiter on the controller so it can hit 25mph top speed.

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you remove the speed limiter? I did some searching but couldn't find anything.

    No throttle issues with the controller not responding or turning on? Only asking bc I was reading a few Z1’s seem to be having throttle issues.

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, I should've mentioned that but it hasn't happened recently. I do occasionally have issues where the throttle is unresponsive. Typically, flicking the brakes a couple of times usually fixes it, though it could be coincidence. My guess is that it's related to the brake sensors that prevent you from applying brake + throttle at the same time, since it seems to always happen after I've braked. But I've not gotten scientific about it, just a hunch.

    You mentioned that the wheels aren't the grippiest. Did you get a chance to see how it would do in wet weather?

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I haven't tried it in the rain. Can't say I've ridden any bike in the rain, except my motorcycles, which do surprisingly well as long as I don't go over metal 🙃

    • @robertmotion
      @robertmotion 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bike works fine in wet weather but like motor vehicles, you have to adjust speed accordingly for inclement weather.
      Changing the tires out for a set with “nubs” makes a difference in grip as well. Hope this helps.

    Is it tiring for your thumb to push down on the motor control -- not sure if I'm right with my assumptions (never rode one before)?

    • @SuperReview
      @SuperReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No issues for me on that front, but I could see that as a possibility -- like most things, I think you would get used to it. I ride a motorcycle, so no thumb throttle but I'm used to holding my wrist twisted for throttle. Same difference.

    • @robertmotion
      @robertmotion 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes on long rides you do start to feel some fatigue in thumb.

    Be careful , the quality of the product is just mass produced Chinese factory stuff.
    No brand name parts to the bike and a whole lot of problems. I had to get my backwheel and engine replaced 3 times. Not a fun process being in Australia and they are in America. Either way just be careful who u buy from there are allot of options out there.
    These guys are pretty expensive. Im happy to pay allot if i get good quality. These guys product is not good quality, they are good at advertising and manipulating u to think their product is great.
    Listen to what this guy is saying in thid vid,,, he makes a commission to each super73 u buy. Thats why he is pushing the ebike prospect. How its perfect and how he does not feel selfe conscious when he rides it,,,,, wtf talks like that ??? Fucking weirdos do !!!
    Do your research and look around. If u still want one , make sure u test drive it first.

    The Z1 is actually the only super 73 that's worth buying. Because it's the cheapest and you can make make it better. When you buy a super 73 u are just buying a bicycle. The motors and controllers useless, the warranties are only good for two years or till they go out of business whatever comes first. Not worth the aggravation of going back and forth for 2 years, on a $3,500 paper weight.
