      Just seen another video and was super pissed because I used this method (not because of you, because I'm a genius mechanic) there's an easier way to do this you can go through wheel wells. Remove some of the inner fender liner clips enough to where you can clearly see the headlight assembly and have easier access to the bulbs and plugs.

    Thanks for posting this video. I've already changed out my foglights in my 2009 Honda Accord the wrong way and have the road rash to prove it. Before I change the headlights all to LED I'll have the clips handy. The previous owner gave up and used wire to fix the bumper back to the car already. I'll just take your advice and do it all at once and do it all right. Thanks again!

      Thank you for the support. I have no idea, it probably has something to do with main dealers making money for changing a light bulb, most people don't have the confidence or the time to do it, so while getting it serviced change the bulbs, then honda make a lot of money from a simple job.

      It's still not easy to do it blind with bulky LED bulbs to get the metal clip over. I managed one side but then the other side the clip snapped so now I only have one headlight until a replacement clip arrives from eBay. And then to top it all off the battery tiedown bolts were rusted and sheared and some idiot before me has lost the cap on one of the headlights!! Car is cursed I swear. I will have to remove the bumper and remove the lights to fix it now.

    If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it would seem to have applied to this situation. I like led bulbs, but no way am I going to remove the whole front end of the vehicle. This video should be a warning to anyone buying a new car. Looks like the designer like the lights and did all he could to protect them from the user.

      @@GPTV2020 much appreciated! Ill try these next time. I decided to try osram h1 laser this time. Since i dont have good spot to take my bumper off and would have to go to garage, 6 months life doesn't seem reasonable. Does the fitting brackets sog on your front bumper? I also have a few fitting clips broken near the lights so the bumper wouldn't clip on properly and have small gaps. I guess it's been taken off too many times now and i have no idea how to fix that. Thanks!

    Just a quick note, this was designed that way so it wouldn't be that easy for headlights to be stolen and to a furthur extent your car.

    • @GPTV2020
      @GPTV2020  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stolen?? Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing, always thought it was so the manufacturer would be able to make more money.

    • @Xbox360Barbados
      @Xbox360Barbados 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes stolen, during the mid 90s & 2000s Hondas were marked as some of the easiest cars to be stolen and for good reason as they were some of the most stolen vehicles of those times. In the coming years Honda had to address that reputation and design their cars in such a way that wouldn't make them such an easy target.

    • @GPTV2020
      @GPTV2020  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow Well i knew they were easily stolen back then but i didn't know that was the reason behind making it so hard to change or remove the headlights! Cool thanks for that.

    • @Xbox360Barbados
      @Xbox360Barbados 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some were stolen by removal of the headlights also engines and transmissions as well. It wasn't a case where Honda said lets make it harder for people to replace bulbs, plus most modern vehicles are designed and manufactured more compact. When purchasing a car we don't ask how easy it is to change parts lol...you can research stolen Hondas of the 90s.
