We’re on a group plan from when I retired. They leave you on the original PPO till you turn 65 at that time it turns to a MA PPO. This plan follows the same deductible and mimics the pre Medicare coverage of the PPO. It’s expensive, but is good coverage.
Now I understand the difference. Thank you. My husband has been battling health problems since for nearly a year now. He is 75 years old and on medicare advantage (kaiser). Now, they have referred my husband to hospice care because they don't want to spend money on him for life saving procedures or assisting devices to help his heart pump better. I want to go back to Original medicare and buy medigap. Please help me help my husband live and not die from insurance company withholding treatment.
I listened to most of your video having followed closely over the years. Not sure if you mentioned if one selects advantage plan and stay more than 1 year on it and incur a serious illness, it is unlikely they can ever switch back to original without underwriting and is still unlikely.
Thank you and that has been my worry. What if I disenroll from Kaiser. I feel naked if I do because of restrictions on going back to original medicare now that my husband has serious heart blood vessel problems for almost a year.
