    I'm often shocked at how user UN-friendly these mega-million-dollar plugins and corporations' apps are, thank you for making this video!

    @WickyDesign, thanks Mark for this great video, I have a follow up question please. I have a different payment gateway on my website, and I only intend to use Square as mobile payment when I go to a remote event. That said, once the inventory synching Woocommerce/Square is done, is it possible TO NOT display Square as a payment option on the website? I want Square to sync with my Woocommerce inventory, but do not want Square as my online payment. My goal is to only use Square when I go to a remote event to take payment via my cellphone. Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance

    Thx mate! Do you know why after the sync each item gets a dropdown arrow? Before the sync, I had each item by itself, but after I synced them, each of them got an arrow (that you click on 4:53 ) with the same item under. (At first I thought it's a duplicate.)

      I noticed that also. I would reach out to the Woocommerce Square developer (woocommerce.com/contact-us/) and see if there's a way to disable the dropdown.

    So I have items on my website with 15 different attributes that are working perfectly fine and then I have some with only 2 that are not working, and not letting my customers select what color they want. I have square and woocommerce.

    Hi there! Thanks for this super informative video. Wondering if you are able sync from WooComm to Square a product that has multiple variation attributes (i.e. size and color). Thanks so much!

      Thanks! The URL dbdc.us/articles/square-for-woocommerce-integration-review/ has a great list of the Limitations of the Square for WooCommerce Plugin. Below is the information about variable products:
      Square only supports single-attribute variable products. If you want to sync variable products with more than one attribute you’ll have to split them up in WooCommerce so that each variable product only has a single attribute-or use the WooSquare Pro plugin.

    Long shot question. I would very much like to link square with my online woocommerce for delayed payment through square. Is that possible with this plugin? We sell beef both online using woocommerce and at farmers markets using square. We have the online woocommerce checkout setup for no-pay checkouts since do not know the actual weight of the meat until the order is assembled. (example, we sell by the pound and a t-bone can weigh anywhere from 10 oz to 24 oz). When they check out, we get an email and assemble the order. We then manually create a square invoice with the actual weights and send it to the customer for payment. It would make our life SOOOO much easier if rather than getting order email from woocommerce , the order landed in square as invoice or a estimate that we can modify and manually send once the order is assembled and ready to ship. Do you know if this plug in or some other version will do what we need?

      Good question, I don't think that's possible to do. I would reach out to Square support and see if this might be possible on their end.

    That multiple payments bit is really good to know. That setting really isn't clear on what it does. Imo you shouldn't have to pick, syncing means it should be the same regardless of where the inventory is

    how can we sync square and woo with multi variations now that Square has options?

  • @brittanylynch3078

    Hi! I'm currently using woo commerce/wordpress for my online store, but using square for my IRL store. When i sync them, can i just delete the woo commerce products and solely use inventory from square and that will all appear on my website? I'm trying to get down to one system. keeping up two is proving incredibly difficult.

      You will still need to have your products in WooCommerce. I recommend changing the "Product system of record" to Square. This will force your website to pull the inventory from Square.

      @@WickyDesign thank you! after i sync, will the item description that appears on the website pull from square or products? or will that part all sync up as well and it won't matter which system i type the description in?

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like the Product description will be overwritten if you use Square as the System of Record. You can read more details here (woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/). Make sure you have a full backup before you do any major changes with your inventory or products.

    Curious, what if you have ALL your inventory on Square, and you've just built a new Woo Commerce website with no products. Will "sync" import all the products from Square?

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, the sync button won't import the Square products. There's a button under the Square/settings called "Import all products from Square". This will manually import all you products into you new WooCommerce website.

    is it possible to show square orders in woocommerce?

  • @SteveLinnin

    Question: Can I add a 2nd website instance to my squareUp management account? I read some documentation in the square knowledge base that said I can add more than one WordPress website but I cannot find anywhere in the newer interface that allows me to do so. I have a sub-domain of the primary site that is dedicated to "dealers" which I want to offer as the dealer side of the business. The primary site is already setup and works perfectly. I am pushing only 6 products from WooCommerce to SquareUp and it shows the inventory on the square side. I want to to the same on the subdomain WordPress instance. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Like you, I help people all the time as I like to "pay it forward" so I really appreciate your help and don't take it lightly.

    • @SteveLinnin
      @SteveLinnin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried disconnecting for Square and then re-enabeling the blue button to reconnect and push the 6 products to my square account but that did not work. I have altered the 6 products SKU IDs to reflect the "dealer" instead of the consumer side of purchasing so that square does not see the same products. I figured squareup would accept the data push as the product SKU's are different than the consumer side products.

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I don't think it's possible to have a 2nd website instance and have the sync work correctly with your WooCommerce stores. The square API still only supports 1 location/domain. Square has setup some major limitations with their API that causes problems like for businesses that have multiple locations or domains.

    What about variants what if you have hundreds of variants in woocommerce and you wanna push them to square

  • @Witch_chick

    So do you have to create the product in both square and woo commerce to sync it? Or if you add a product to square will it appear in woo commerce and vice Versa? Thanks for the help!

    • @WickyDesign
      @WickyDesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I recommend you create the products in both platforms and then do a sync. I found the best solution is to create a spreadsheet with all your products and import that to your system that manages the inventory. It's best practice to keep a backup spreadsheet of all you products.
