I've been scouring TH-cam off and on for the last two weeks looking for a video of the flutes perfectly executing the best passage in concert band history during The Brisk Young Sailor, and I heard it here and saw the first third or so of it, but foiled again by amateur camera work. The flutes nailed the lead-in and the big moment here, and the piccolo dude was getting in the zone before he unleashed his massive attack, but right before things got REALLY intense here, the camera cut to the whole ensemble shot. I just wanna see a full ensemble play Lincolnshire Posy with a close-up of the flutes and piccolos during the passage in question, because I wanna see their finger work. As a former competitive bandsman, I do declare that to be the best passage in the entire concert band repertoire.
@laserdisque The upper clarinets also have this passage. Depending on the recording I have heard the clarinets much more dominant than the flutes in this passage
Lisbon Bay was my signature tune when I was a classical DJ. And the entirety of Lincolnshire Posy a how-to for any British Folk Tune Setting ( which I've always dedicated lovingly and reverently to the memory of Percy Grainger
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Angel Sebastian i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Each movements Time 1. Lisbon 0:00 2. Horkstow Grange 1:32 3. Rufford Park Poachers 4:15 4. The Brisk Young Sailor 8:18 5. Lord Melbourne 9:57 6. The Lost Lady Found 13:14
If I had one criticism it would be just a bit of over conducting. Of course it’s always hard to follow on the heels on Fennell. Great performance by all parties!

Excellent conducting of this piece 👏🏽👏🏽
I’ve only performed this once and it wears me out just looking at them perform it. This piece takes a lot from everyone. Great job!
Great performance of a gravely underperformed masterpiece - the harmonic an d rhythmic invention are amazing.

How did I just find this? Amazing version, should have the most views on TH-cam!
Beautiful
The best Version I've heard, I can see John Betjemen walking across the Sands at Burnham on Sea after his Ride on the old S&D.
Grainger had his own sound..which I enjoy.
7:30 & 13:41 BASS SAX POWER
I like that Percy Grainger.
@8:50I'm putting this so when I work on my flute part 😂
