I love this guy. Can of beer in the cup holder while he's working on his car. But really. Great information. I have both of the seat issues with my 1997 328is. This is really helpful! Thank you!

Glad it helped! I measure the difficulty of the job by the amount of beer I consume during the repair.

Literally the same, on a 1997 328i vert no less 🤙 luckily both issues on the same seat. Do you know the part number for the cable by any chance? Thanks

    Thanks for this!
LOL my driver side stopped working quite a while ago but nobody gets in the back seat anyway. I watched your video and the next time I was buying parts I added the cable. I figured I would just have it on hand if I had a reason to pull the seat out. I was a bit bored this afternoon so I pulled out the driver seat and... Cable was fine LOL the metal clip had popped loose. I will sadly admit I struggled a little figuring out how it was supposed to go on but all is like new and I have added a brand new seat release cable to the spare parts hoard.
On the upside... I vacuumed under the seat for the first time since I refinished all the leather 7 years ago LOL.

Hey, I'm curious to see if you have a link or know how to fix the folding mechanism, the cable is in one piece, but the seat stays loose and will not lock in place. Both my seats have this issue....Thanks

just as info, you can get the parts for the batton cable at damn near any hardware store. I make my own for all my motorcycles.

Can you do a video on replacing the head gasket on a 328i e36?
