Your burner assembly needs to be placed inside the body of the engine along with a couple of baffles, one separating the 2nd & 3rd fan and another one behind the 4th to create the front wall of the combustion chamber. The first baffle should reduce the diameter of the air passage and the 2nd blade needs to have the tips trimmed to be just a wee bit larger in circumference than the pass through in 1st baffle. The hole in the 2nd baffle should be a little smaller than the pass through hole in the 1st baffle and the tips of blades 3 & 4 trimmed to be a wee bit larger than the pass through hole in the 2nd baffle. I suggest one more baffle at the end of the tube where the conical nozzle piece attaches. It should be about 75% the diameter of the outlet hole in the nozzle. Your fuel feed lines should be introduced about 1/4 of the length of the combustion chamber back from the 2nd fan blade baffle. Will your engine work like a proper air-breathing reaction motor? Maybe. Right now your design lacks any meaningful back pressure. The narrowing of the pass throughs will create a marginally better amount of compression and speed up the airflow due to the improvised Venturi effect that the first two baffles provide. The third baffle in the rear in concert with a defined combustion chamber will allow a modest amount of back pressure and as the combustion gas exits through the last baffle’s pass through, it’ll expand in the inside of the nozzle and push against the inside of the nozzle and the rear baffle as the gases are exiting through the nozzle; this in turn will create some modest amount of forward thrust according Newton’s 3rd law. As an aside, with the modifications I’ve suggested, the fuel ports into the bottom of the nozzle can be repurposed with a secondary fuel supply and potentially act as a weak afterburner stage. Nice job, but I see at least 2 big problems: - all your fans are on the same axle, which implies the air flow is at about a constant speed from the second fan. My works on propfan showed each step must be spinning at a higher speed than the previous one, which is essential with contra-rotating fans to avoid gyroscopic precession, but the idea is still the same whatever flow you're working on. - each subsequent step must be smaller than the previous one to increase air compression and thus speed at the output nozzle. To combine the two, the simplest is to have a single motor shaft with belts and each fan on its axis (all collinear) and proportional gear reduction. It's a tad more complicated than this one (because of the bets and the separate axes), but it makes it much more efficient. Also, how about soldering the pieces together (not even brazing or welding) once superglued to reduce the air leaks?
@@success_studio feel free to email me. What I'm saying is that all the work is done by the first fan. The second fan provides no acceleration -- or something very marginal due to the fact that the first fan is not physacally "perfect", theory and practice may differ. On the second (and all further other fans), the input speed and output speed are pretty much the same if both fans are the same size and speed, even contra-rotating. Now, contra-rotating is the reason for the extreme noise, which is mostly generated between the propellers: Since your fluid is spinning in one direction and you're trying to reverse that spinning direction, so, yeah, your air will go from -speed to +speed, it's just perpendicular to the axis you want:and has absolutely no effect on the propulsion force, or marginally by accumulating pressure at the tips of your fans (not where you want it, unless it's severely funneled). Also, the distance between propellers is very important to avoid unwanted turbulence. If the sound is what you want, then it's fine. If you're looking for any form of thrust, think again. Have a look to Integza's channel, he's trying for ages to make a working jet. Also, if you want to explore that domain, you can have a read of NASA's report about... propfans (id 19870019120). What makes an engine an engine is the fact that on each cycle, more energy is released than is required for the next cycle. The next cycle gets the energy it needs, and the remainder of the energy is exhausted to the environment. Jet engines don't have cycles in the same sense as a piston engine, but they are analyzed the same way. For this to have been an engine, the energy released by burning the fuel would have to be captured in some way (turbines after the burn chamber) and put back into the input side for the next cycle -- to wit, if the prime mover (the electric motor) is removed and the jet doesn't self-sustain, it isn't an engine. As an aside, what this guy did was basically built a model salamander (those heaters that people have in their garages and on construction sites that look like a jet). Mind you, I'm using a practical definition of an engine, not the exact thermodynamic definition, though I've never seen anything to indicate that there's any such thing as a non-self-sustaining heat engine.

it certainly won't break any sound barrier anytime soon, view it as a scaled down simplified but with a similar concept to that of a jet engine, because what jet engine is it's basically a bunch of high speed turbine sucking in air from the front, pressurize the air in the middle, and combust it with spraying fuel as the air were being forced out at the rear at a very high velocity, thus achieving the speed of sound. believe it or not, the concept of a jet engine is actually simpler to understand than that of a regular piston engine which a car uses, because it really is just a bunch of giant fan and some pipe that spew out fuel, the rest is physics.
Ah fevikwik... that brings back some memories XD And yes, JET engine. Held together with crazy glue... I think the 3D printed engines might even last a bit longer; since the blades actually spin???
Err ... I'd call this a fan blowing lighter fluid out the back of a tube. It might produce barely non-zero thrust because it is basically a simple afterburner. The jet engine itself is missing, there's an electric motor with fan blades instead. All that being said, I liked this video!
25 years ago before model jet engines were available commercially, folks were making them out of compaing gaz containers and using VCR head bearings. Someone was machining the compressors and selling them at flying events. This was pretty clever, but I doubt it can produce useful thrust.
I’m only 12 (although all of my teachers say I am incredibly smart for my age) and I know that this is not at all a turbojet engine (which is what he was quote on quote “making”) although you did get the first 2 stages correct, there are 3 stages which is where the exhaust spins fans behind the flame which are connected to the “fans” in the front which causes it to suck in more air which causes it to burn faster which causes it to spin faster which causes it to suck in more air which causes it to burn more which causes it to spin faster and this cycle repeats and, ba da bing ba da boom you now know how a jet engine works. Thank you for your time.
I built one of these in my 11th grade physics class. I had the VoTech school make the outer casing and my art department fired the compressor blades that I made out of clay. When we tested mine and used the after burner which moved 20 % of the fuel to the back, it tore off of the stand and went flying down the parking lot. It broke 2 10,000 pd bolts by shearing them off. I got my A in Physics.
man, a jet engine is not so easy to manufacture, but if you had made a combustion chamber not between the turbines but between them, maybe something would have happened
In the beginning of the video, when I saw he was super gluing the little metal beam to the cylinder, I thought wow! That glue must be top tech that can resist jet engine heat! 😐
I thought this was going to be a functional turbojet or something.. oh well it's a start. Got to have a compressor with tolerance so that proper compression takes place without pressure loss through intake, etc.. I define the jet by it's ability to self sustain, only use electric to start it up. I'd start with an old turbo or something.. I'm currently dissecting a Dyson for a small compressor wheel.. it is a start though sir..
Great effort and creativity in trying to explain a concept, Although not very accurate on the working principle of a jet engine .. Appreciate what you have done. Cheers.

"Jet engine" my ass! First, there are rotor stages, but no corresponding stators. Second, the rotor "stages" don't compress the incoming air. They merely accelerate it. Finally, the continued accelerated combustion of the butane is reliant upon the electric motor. If this were indeed a jet engine, a set of turbine stages being turned by the expanding combustion gasses would draw in air trough the compressor stages and sustain the combustion in the burner "can". This is about as much a "jet engine" as lighting a fart.

At least Efforts taken Truly admirable here as above who does this in slums as we hear background noise in a country like India ,for Aeromodelling enthusiasts and other scientific platforms there is little or no space at all, only the glamour, rich and mighty with little or no knowledge, or interest just pushed in for photo pics..Thanks to this lad implementing his soul to the tech world.
it certainly won't break any sound barrier anytime soon, view it as a scaled down simplified but with a similar concept to that of a jet engine, because what jet engine is it's basically a bunch of high speed turbine sucking in air from the front, pressurize the air in the middle, and combust it with spraying fuel as the air were being forced out at the rear at a very high velocity, thus achieving the speed of sound. believe it or not, the concept of a jet engine is actually simpler to understand than that of a regular piston engine which a car uses, because it really is just a bunch of giant fan and some pipe that spew out fuel, the rest is physics.
I knew something was wrong when the title said jet engine and the first thing he used is fevikwik....😆😆
exactly bro XD
I whoud like To make that and mount it on mu scooter
True 🤣🤣🤣
It's just a Jet Kid Toy, unfortunately it's not a real mini turbine jet engine that I imagine before.
I have seen full view 12 minute and regret.
Ah fevikwik... that brings back some memories XD
And yes, JET engine.
All that being said, I liked this video!
watch from 12:16
Thank me later for saving your time.
bruh
I wish I'd read down to your comment before pressing "Play"...
And money😀

Thank U Jesus !!!

HOME MADE INEFFICIENT BLOW TORCH
Even though this video wasn't what I expected....It can't be considered a waste of time..Good jugaad👏🏼
You guys expect to much from people
Honestly atleast he made something and had the confidence to upload it to TH-cam
Yeah useless
james the handsome make something an upload it to TH-cam
@@aayzersifer8584 go to school dude and study some shit
And make it useful
And this blow torch design..name jet engine
The fuck
Would make a pretty cool afterburner for a ducted fan. It looks cool as heck but doesn’t really produce any real thrust.
Maybe Lockheed martin should try saving money by super gluing their engines together. Great idea.
25 years ago before model jet engines were available commercially, folks were making them out of compaing gaz containers and using VCR head bearings. Someone was machining the compressors and selling them at flying events. This was pretty clever, but I doubt it can produce useful thrust.
more accurately called: "fire amplifier engine"
journey to mars is more economical now ....
This is not jet engine my friend. . . You made a blower for the fire.
The title talks about making a jet engine.
Me: sees cheap galvanized metal, goes to click out.
This guy: *superglue*
Me: *sits back down*
s u p e r g l u e I died
You made a cool lighter, that jet engine title is just misleading
Thats why i read comments first than start watching any videos 😂😂
Very professional using some super glue to construct a "jet engine"
Congratulations, its a turbo fan? maybe a over complicated torch? Idk but its cool

At least a good attempt. A small step to towards realising a big dream ❤️🙏
Jet engine which works by electric engine, GENIUS
I built one of these in my 11th grade physics class. I had the VoTech school make the outer casing and my art department fired the compressor blades that I made out of clay. When we tested mine and used the after burner which moved 20 % of the fuel to the back, it tore off of the stand and went flying down the parking lot. It broke 2 10,000 pd bolts by shearing them off. I got my A in Physics.
Holy shit this is how it's done 🤣
Good job that's so cool!
That sounds so cool! I wish that I could build something like that in my physics class
man, a jet engine is not so easy to manufacture, but if you had made a combustion chamber not between the turbines but between them, maybe something would have happened
We can build it Wait... not between them but... between them? What?
@@yellow13_ that google translate
He said not but yes
This video at least gives you the idea that there are compressors, fuel supply, ignition and combustion chamber in a jet engine. I liked the video
Not an engine but still looked pretty cool I guess
(Edit spelling)
Exactly
Nice stove ❤️..:
In the beginning of the video, when I saw he was super gluing the little metal beam to the cylinder, I thought wow! That glue must be top tech that can resist jet engine heat! 😐
Engine=thrust
No thrust =no engine
I don't know when the definition of Jet engine had changed.
this is so ghetto. I love it 😆
Very interesting! With some refinement, I can see that someone could actually make a crude, but workable jet engine like this a better than a toy!
When i see oily skin and technical approach in video i first give the video a like than i watch the video❤
Great effort and creativity in trying to explain a concept, Although not very accurate on the working principle of a jet engine .. Appreciate what you have done. Cheers.
What concept is he trying to explain?
He said JET engine not motor controlled.
12 minutes of my life - Lost forever!
😂 😂 😂 😂
OK, this is not a jet engine. But he had fun, and this is exactly the kind of thing I used to do when I was a kid. I didn't know what I was doing but I did my best, and learned a lot along the way. Eventually I got into the design and engineering of building systems. Kids, learn how to build things with your hands!
Colin Furze does some mad things with home mad jet engines.
Colin is way better that this kid, he makes the a jet engine bigger than a real one, and hi make it in his home
Colin is better
Up
Irrelevant, this is a mini model of a blow dryer
Jet engine should suck&burn fuel between rotors to initiate a chain reaction.
Yeah this just sucks! 😝
Wow... May be not efficient, or useful at all, but still demonstrates the "jet" principle !
I just can't stop laughing🤣🤣🤣..we seriously need this engine to be flying us to the moon...
Good one 👍, try making the glue and spacers heat resistant and put them in fan- flame tube- turbine arrangement. You will have a real jet engine.
Wow, 10 seconds jet engine in a 12 minutes video 😱
do you expect an fully working airplane running in lighter fluid?
Second Video named " Windmills powered by Brushless motor"
It's not even a brushless motor
JET ENGINE! in ur imagination!
Reality, gas stove powered by motor.
Efforts are truly commendable than doing nothing..God Bless 🙌 such Efforts 👌
"Jet Engine" ? I just smile
damn son you know you're making the absolute most of that itty-bitty bottle of Super glue!😁
Only thing super about this is the glue. I hope it is high temp.
But still good to watch small things being made.
If you clicked on this video actually expecting to see a real jet engine, I feel sorry for you. You should know by now that this stuff is never good.
Clicked on it just to dislike it. Was not disappointed by the content xD
This video is just a fan blowing on a flame. not a jet engine at all
Absolute waste of my time... 😧 Jet engine..... Sure...
I agree
royjeuring you try making something off scratch and uploading to TH-cam
It is just waste of time
When I was in school, I also made a jet engine based only on pictures from magazines, when there was no Internet yet, I did the same as you, for the sake of interest)
Wow, a multi-fan butane flame blower. Functions nothing like a jet engine.
this ain't a jet engine, although in fairness you did give me a few ideas there to miniaturize stuff, with a few mods on this design i think i can make a true mini jet engine. if nothing else, this design can take out a single robber's face if correctly-placed by the door at night (weapon of opportunity from household items; don't laugh at a steel spoon for being a steel spoon, in my hands i can stab that into someone's jugular or carotid attacking me while i'm eating), he'll still be alive, but now he has a real problem in his very face, his painful broken face is now his problem. thanks dude.
This is a joke and Prank Video, he just made a Kid Toy Jet engine
That Background noise thou😂👌
It looks like an afterburner without frame tubes without a jet engine

Now make a small time machine so I can go back and tell my self not to watch it.
12:08 "restart engine"emergency check list
definitely the right concept. as for how much thrust this particular engine outputs though....
I can imagine an aircraft with a very long cable to the power supply.
Outcome : 3 lighters , and one a4 size of steel foil wasted .....
That's an after burner, not much thrust from the fuel
"Jet engine" my ass! First, there are rotor stages, but no corresponding stators. Second, the rotor "stages" don't compress the incoming air. They merely accelerate it. Finally, the continued accelerated combustion of the butane is reliant upon the electric motor. If this were indeed a jet engine, a set of turbine stages being turned by the expanding combustion gasses would draw in air trough the compressor stages and sustain the combustion in the burner "can".
This is about as much a "jet engine" as lighting a fart.
He almost set that thing on fire..🤣
He used an electric motor to turn a couple of fan blades to blow a gas flame. Not even close to jet engine. What a fool
can yall fucking chill out godam i would like to see you do better with the same tools and money he had
@@crunchysoup406- Nope. This isn't a jet engine. It's a fan blowing flames. I admit I couldn't do better with he tools and materials that he had, because jet engines are so precise that making one needs more than the tools and money he had.
nobody asked
It is good for making chicken 🤣🤣
Guys stop being rude, it might not be a jet engine but you don’t have to make fun of it, and what he made is an experimental turbine engine that a company made then they scrapped the project.
this is neat guys! Great vid!
Me : It's too frickin Risky
Also Me : Burns a Jet engine
I'm skeptical that it's producing thrust though... It looks like a fancy torch TBH.
With an adjustable gate, you could tune the afterburner too 🤗
Bro this is so cool, ima try to make it and keep up the good work you probably wont see me but idc
This is actually nice
What about the next video -home made jet engine with thrust producing capacity waiting here!
Very nice you did something from nothing! You shold try to redesign it do not listen to any one they expect to see titanium fans and other hi-tech things that they can't rebuild
It actually works exactly like a jet engine. All he has to do is get rid of the motor, clip the fuel tank on, and throw it like a dart.
Now a days it has become culture on TH-cam to make jet that are nothing .More than a fan giving out butane falme and not giving the thrust ,.😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 without thrust there is no engine ...What is purpose of these kind of engines , I would be really happy if I found such which is really giving thrust instead of giving out just a flame .

Actually this is a Prank Video.
in other words he could have just made a very simple flame holder to make it a whole lot more impressive
My mixer grinder would turn out to be a better engine than this.
