Loved the comparisons here with the back to back recordings. My husband got me the Blue Yeti when he first heard I wanted to start podcasting. I have to say, it’s super sensitive. Even with the gain turned down very low. I love the ease of a USB microphone. You certainly pointed out the pros and cons here. I first started recording my podcast in my closet and now moved to a quiet room. I have to say, I’ve heard my stomach rumble before through the mic... that’s how sensitive it is 😅.
Thank you so much for this video! This was so so helpful 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you so much! We started our Podcast just using our phone, now we want to upgrade. This was a great overview :)
You all probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Casen Anson instablaster =)
@Alessandro Hamza thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Alessandro Hamza it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account !
@Casen Anson You are welcome =)
Veronica, Dropping bars! Great work.
Appreciate it!!
When she said, " I'm not your mother, I'm a cow" I felt that😔
Lol..
I really loved the Samson
Shimeih 😂 I know, those books get me too!
When she turns on the noisemaker and grins. Lol! Love!!! So cute :) I'm digging the Samsung mic. Thanks so much for the comparison. New Sub here! woot woot!
I'm a big fan of my Q2U as I mentioned on twitter. The background noise rejection is fantastic, I can record with a fan on and it doesn't pick it up at all.
I do get very close though, I use a foam windscreen rather than a pop filter so I can get right on it. I also like the proximity effect.
Thank you Veronica. Can I use a lapel mic for podcasting? If yes how can I connect it to my phone and headset?
What about a setup of four people how can a beginner record the sound from the four mics using a USB MIC
You can set it up I. The audio settings of your computer. We made a video here showing you how to do it- th-cam.com/video/Zi5ua1AXCvU/w-d-xo.html
Great video. Great choices. I have the Samson Q2u great sound, but boy it is very sensitive. It picks up a lot of mouth clicks.
Finally a real description! Thanks a lot.
What are your thoughts on the zoom zdm-1
I think the best sound on the video, was the mic you did not show, the one you recorded the video with... what was that?
Great Video!!! I'm surprise how good they all sound, especially the cheaper ones!!
Thanks Tiny!
What are your thoughts on the Tonor TC777? i saw some great reviews on it and i got on amazon for my dj radio show since background noise isn't a problem for me, i plan to use it eventually for the podcast i wanna make.
I would rank them as 1. Samson, 2. ATR-2100, 3. Blue Yeti (you set it correctly) and throw the Snowball in the trash.
Eric Hunley 😂😂
This was so helpful and one of the only videos I could find describing the pros and cons of dynamic and condenser mics!
Jessica Graham So good to hear!! Do you have a podcast, or are you thinking about starting one??
Thank you. Best video on testing and explaining. Just watched loads of video's and was about to give up, then found this vid. Much appreciated.
Stephanie Airey thank you! I’m glad you’re finding the videos useful
Thanks for sharing this video, very constructive. I just purchased a usb mic (samson g track pro) I would like to record a podcast with music in the backbround the way it sounds at the end. How would I do this they way you guys have set it up?
Thank you. In your concluding remarks when you are comparing prices, it's only fair to say that when buying XLR-based mics like the Audio Technica - whether they be condenser or dynamic - you will need to buy an external pre-amp/interface box at a cost which will usually exceed the total cost of a USB mic. Furthermore, when you speak of upgrading, the fact is that integral pre-amps and Analogue to Digital Converters are the product of cheap and highly competent technology. One would have to pay big money to achieve noticeable improvements in audio quality, at which point diminishing returns kick in. And for podcasting, who really cares or notices given that the vast majority of listeners today are using their cheap smartphones or tablets, alongside equally cheap earbuds?
I have guests on my podcast via zoom calls, will dynamic work for that? will I able to hear the other person's voice if i use dynamic mic?
You can use headphones
@@psscreativemedia thankyou, but in the future if I buy atr 2100x,will that be good for zoom calls?
@@neelgoplani1178 yes, the Atr and the Samson are GREAT for zoom calls.
Easily the most helpful video I’ve come across yet. Thanks guys!
Ben Morgan You bet! Are you launching your podcast soon?! 😀
Pod Sound School hey guys! Yes I am, starting with my phone right now so I’m looking for an affordable mic. I don’t have a soundproof room right now so I’m looking for a dynamic mic!
Hello! To Veronica and Steve. I hope you doing well. I just needed a suggestion from Steve. What would be better in terms of QUALITY; Should I stick to the direct inbuilt recording function on Anchor or I record it in a separate app for lossless format, then tweak it with compression and all and then import to Anchor in a lossy format of m4a? Thanks
Harish Benjwal Yes! You’ve got it. You’ll get better results recording outside of anchor and then importing back into it. When possible I suggest to record and edit the whole episode outside anchor.
@@psscreativemedia Thank you!💐
Please check my Podcast anchor.fm/harish-benjwal
I would appreciate your suggestions in this regard. If I am able to record my audio properly. Thanks!
Can you use those with a phone? For example an Anchor podcast.
With the newer phones, I believe that you can yes. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I'm going to. You just need an adapter. like this one: amzn.to/2HKIrQO
I bought the q2u microphone, for my mobile phone, as you recommanded and there is no cable to the phone. Where can I get it?
Buy a cable converter
Hey thank you for the vid I'm a TH-camr but I do a lot of voice over my gameplay and this helped a lot
This is great. Is it possible to use these microphones with my iPhone 11??
Yes, I believe you can. We're going to be doing a video on that SOON!
Thank you for the video! I like to buy the ATR 2100 . Would you please tell me if this will work for zoom conference calls? I'm looking to improve my audio (windows 10)
Thanks in advance
Ofcourse it will work.
Does anyone know where I can buy this Samson q2u mic? Did they stop making them or what?
maciek Amazon is out right now it appears. B and H Photo Video has some in stock: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/598772-REG/Samson_SAQ2UPK_Q2U_Handheld_Dynamic_Microphone.html
Thank you.
That thumbnail is terrifying! The video is much better! :-D
Manly Hanley Podcast 😂🤣 Thanks. Are you using a USB mic for your pod??
By far the best video on microphones. I'm starting my podcast & this was SOO helpful
Niqueeism So glad you found it helpful. What’s your podcast going to be about?
that too much white to me too listen to when i listen to white noise podcast i like listening to rain and thunder for me to fall asleep lol.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Wow
She is soooooo Beautiful
Samson sounded best
Super terrific right? It’s a really nice mic. It sounds even better when you use it with an interface instead of USB
@@psscreativemedia What do you think of the Rode PodMic and which interface would you recommend? Do you think it is possible to start a podcast using an ipad pro with a mic direct to the ipad? If so which mic would you recommend? All I have is a laptop from 2012 and I have a great idea for a podcast, I used to produce a top 20 radio show.
@@guitarlearningtoplay Great questions. So I haven't used the PodMic yet, but I've heard really good things. I hope to do a review of it soon.
As far as the iPad, it is possible and there are some decent apps that help to edit the episodes and add music. That's something I'm going to do a video on soon actually.
I would recommend the samson q2u or the ATR2100 for with a USB adapter to go into the iPad.
@@psscreativemedia Unfortunately I got your response too late. I was leaning toward those xlr/usb mics but then I read some reviews on both that said the build quality was not good for either and they broke quickly. As far as an interface I did research on them all. The one I liked the best was the Shure MVI, but it's $130. Behringer um interfaces are around $60-80. And then there were a bunch around $100. Ultimately I'm trying out the TC Helicon Go Vocal. I got it for a whopping $34. I was disappointed not to find one single review on it on youtube. If you remind me I will let your know how it works. I'm also going to try it on my laptop..
I am pairing it with the Behringer 8500 for $23 for $57 (free shipping, no tax) I think it's hard to go wrong and I will just return them if they don't work. I'm trying to search for a good mic stand with shock mount (not and arm because I will record in bed, long story), isolation shield and pop filter under $50. I may also upgrade my headphones.
