Here is what I do just once a month to grow my healthy, long 4C hair.

❤️ your videos. I’m so glad you’re back! I’ve also adopted a monthly routine within past year. The reduced manipulation and wash days have definitely increased length retention. With my routine I keep my twists in for 2 weeks before remoisturizing and restyling 😊 It’s so much more convenient to not wash my hair every week and it was a much needed reprieve when I was pregnant!

I think the deep conditioning step is what made me end up shaving all my hair off 😂 I hated spending like an hour in the shower only to put a deep conditioner and and wash it out later in the day. Oh my days. Too much time wasted. Good to know I can deep condition without needing to wash it out

    • @GirlsLoveYourCurls

cutefifsta GIRL!!!! Exactly! I would skip deep conditioning because of that. Which wasn’t great, but I hated all that time wasting and getting back into the shower😆🥰

For this same reason I split my wash day into 2 days. Wash and deep condition overnight or wash and use a little leave in (this way I don’t have to sleep with wet hair) deep condition the following day. Keeps me sane. 😂 If I’m feeling really lazy or pressed for time I deep condition while in the shower, or use a 3 minute deep conditioner.

A few years ago when I was growing out my hair, I used to do something *kind of* similar, except with mini twists. I would wash and condition IN the mini twists. However, there was never a time when I would take all the twists down and redo them. There were too many of them for that. I just redid a few at a time every few days. It was low maintenance and looked good.

Hi Nadine, I’m trying your method right now and I must say that the back of my hair has never ever felt so soft. It’s usually the roughest and tightest part of my hair. I didn’t know my hair could do that. The curls were even starting to clump together. I’m just so shocked. Thank you for having the dry hair cure.
Also I didn’t have a heat cap so I just used a towel to wrap my head and left it on for an hour. Thanks 😊

LadyNa, I am hooked on Ur method for length retention. First time I tried it, I was so tempted to play in my hair; you know, take them down?? But, OhNo!! I would think of Ur “3 Enemies” vid and leave my hair alone...smh, yet HaPPy! After watching last week’s vid, I put my hair in rope twist again. I/We can do this!! This time I’m determined to last for 4 weeks/one whole month!!!💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾!!! I’ll follow the rest of Ur routine and do it again & again & again. ThankU LadyNa, ThankU!! LuvU&Later...

Those rope twists are no joke. I tried one and I could hardly unravel it after I was done. I can tell they'll keep a lot better than regular twists though they're a but tricky to do on my own hair especially when the twist gets to long and I have to reverse the twisting direction (by twisting forward instead). I've learnt a lot from your videos in the past few days and am already incorporating a few of your tips into my regimen. Especially the deep conditioning one cause I don't even deep condition my hair 😅 I'd like to figure out what the buzz is all about without doing so much work lol.

This is a thought, hope it helps. I like cake, cookies, pies etc...too. what I have done to reduce my sugar intake ( I still enjoy decadent sweets from time to time), is monitor and replace my intake during the week. I do this by being accountable to a trusted person. I limit how much sugar I keep in my house/car/purse. When I want a sweet treat before time, I cut up an apple over Greek yogurt (Cabot full fat), with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a bit of raw honey. It is the best. Additionally, I like Lara bars and fruit bar called: "That's it" Frome Amazon. Also, look to rewarding yourself (monthly), with something you would enjoy when you meet your weekly goal. When/if you cheat, demerit the reward for that week.

@@GirlsLoveYourCurls For sure. We need one another and it is my pleasure to help. I also want to say, the less sugar you consume (you can and will), you will notice your taste buds change. As you decrease your sugar intake, anything with sugar will be too sweet and not as appealing. Again, you can and will do it. One moment and one step at a time. Maybe, also challenge yourself not to eat sweets for the day, or until a certain time of day. Oh, and don't beat yourself up.

Hi Nadine, d Fed for your edges use minoxidil 2ce a day. It does not need a prescription and a cheaper generic one works just as well. My dermatologist prescribed this treatment for me for my edges and it’s growing back nicely. I hope this helps!😊

Kylie Collins Thank you so much!
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes I looked into Minoxidil (Rogaine).
I have friends who have used it. Some love it and continue to use it, others stopped using it.
The biggest downside for me was having to apply it forever or the results revert.
Im not disciplined enough, plus I wasn’t feeling some of the common side effects (headaches, vision issues and facial hair growth). so I just decided it probably wasn’t for me. 😊

I know there is a laser light cap that aids with hair restoration. The cap is worn for 10 min a day, is cooling, and turns itself off after 10 min. It claims to show results in about 2 to 3 months (approximately). I am saving to try that before hair restoration surgery.

    • @GirlsLoveYourCurls
      @GirlsLoveYourCurls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

😆 Thank you. Well the original root cause was going to hair braiders who braided it so tightly over a couple of years.
Then hair dressers relaxing my hair, ignoring my sensitive hairline. I remember my hairline weeping grim relaxer burn every month.😔
The final nail in the coffin was children. I feel as though it got worse with each child.
Thankfully I no longer do any of those things, so I should be okay.🥰

Question: how do you wash your hair during the 4 weeks that you aren't retwisting, without drying it out? I think I heard you mention in another video that you co wash it- but does co washing actually clean the scalp? Can I use ACV diluted with water? Also, how often do you remoisturize your hair during those 4 weeks? And when you wash it during the 4 week period, how do you keep it from getting frizzy? Any tips?

Texture definitely makes a difference. When I’ve tried to rope twist on our hair when it has been pressed or blow dried, it unravels. I would wet it first to make it revert back nice and coily kinky, so it would hold.
