You are welcome I am glad you could feel my despair when the sand showed up in it.

i have dealt in coloured stones for a few tears now and have just started doing a few opal. You videos are excellent and so helpful thank you. I deal mainly in Ethiopian crystal opal and a few fire opals but your tutorials because that is reaaly what they are have been amazingly helpful. Thanks again.

Hello There are many stones that experience has told me the sand will take most of the opal. In this case the sand was all the way to the bottom of the bar and just cleaned up at the last small amount of color which was very lucky. But I do know the nose you are talking about. :-) Your english is fine..

Those would make a lovely duo pendant with the large one on top and the smaller as a tear drop below

8 years later interesting to see how your shop and tool bench has changed. Better quality on the video now. But ahh skill on the Opal's all the same.

Justin, in this video, the microphone placement is perfect.
Now, put a microphone on the motor (that’s being used), run that microphone through a separate preamplifier to obtain an opposite polarity of the audio picking up your voice, in order to nullify the noise of the motor. That’s noise cancellation.
You can cancel out any noise you want to in this manner.

Hi Justin, I was wondering why you did not turn the stone on the wheel while cutting, isn't risky to cut straight on, when the wheel arrives at the end of rough stone, a small "nose" can occur ? (sorry for the
    english)

I have another stupid question, Justin.
    - May a laser beam destroy Opal, if the frequency is strong enough?

ouch no luck there.I want to ask you about a stone like that.True nobby shape I got it from someone else he had cut the top and it has some nice color about 20X14 with greens and blue but static well I kept it a year there was a tiny bit of color in the side but you could see from a chip it was true black potch inside so it cut the point off nice color 4 spots very thin but rolling red to blue green on one corner about a carat. So did he cut the wrong side?If I cut again to the 20x14 back side?

hi there Justin, needed your expertise on something, i saw a pendant with a white opal 5.71 carats, oval shaped, the opal has a decent play of color, is opaque, but unfortunately has craze lines, i was wondering if that can be fixed? and if you have any experience with the treatment?
