    -needs cable management
    -needs dust filters
    -need more modern/convenient/less finicky way of opening up side panels
    -needs MUCH MORE polishing in terms of design
    -MUCH LOWER PRICE
    and then, MAYBE i'll consider it...

      I would get one if it was a little bit cheaper, had some dust filters and extra cable management, design will probably improve if they actually release the product and i could care less about how I open the side panels.

      ***** nono, i totally get you. You actually had to spend time and effort to tie those ribbon IDE cables up lolol. But seeing that it is now the modern computing days, this is a very nice and needed feature since this is supposed to be a premium case with many features...

    • @TechByMattB
      @TechByMattB 8 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      DeilGrist Neither this case or the Ncase M1 are custom. They are made to be mass manufactured. And the M1 is justifiable at that price seeing its made entirely of aluminum.

      250 dollars for a chassi without any dust filters, noise dampening or side window etc that has a small form factor but too heavy for anyone to drag around.

    personnaly I always want to see and hear a review that includes a complete build when looking at a case. That way you can discover hidden problems if there are any and have insight into temps, dust etc. Plus it's just nice to see a finished example.

    Dmitri on $70 cases: Rubber Grommets seemed flimsy, not so good for cable management
    Dmitri on $250 case: There are no cable management options, you have to route all your cables on the inside, which is "actually kind of a cool way to approach cable management." wtf.
    Don't get me wrong, I understand WHY they didn't invest much into a complex cable management system here, they were going for the most compact design possible, and if you're building a computer around a $250 case, you should have the patience to do a half decent job on cable management. However, the fact that you brush it off like it's no big deal when it's something you've heavily dinged other cases for it, well, it doesn't seem right. It felt like you were looking for reasons for this case to be worth $250, not giving your actual opinions about it.

    • @HardwareCanucks
      @HardwareCanucks  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +mygetrichslowplan You have a point, there are certainly issues when it comes to cable management in this form factor. However despite the lack of any spacing behind the rear panel, I decided to look at this task from a positive perspective. Adding width to the frame gets rid of the compact 18L form factor although would make it much easier to route.

      +Orjon Zaganjori It's a niche product. There's NOTHING like this on the market. If you were to make your own 18mL case, it would cost you a lot more than $250.
      A lot of the cost went into engineering the thing, making prototypes, research, and manufacturing (research and development stuff).
      A bigger company could sell this case for much cheaper. But this isn't a company. This is just some guy that spent his own money and time making this case.
      The NCASE M1 is essentially an ITX version of this case, and many people think it's worth it's price ($200).
      I'd love it if it were cheaper, but it's price makes sense considering the cost of R&D, and that there's nothing like this on the market (the s09/s10 is close, but is 25% bigger).
      You could buy a Thermaltake case for 1/3 the price, but if you REALLY care about having the smallest no-compromise computer possible, then this product isn't meant for you.

    • @CknSalad
      @CknSalad 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Paul Sholly THIS. I think the poor guy just is not as good in marketing his PC case. One thing I noticed about the Ncase M1, was that Necere and wahaha really planned well on how to market their case. I pretty much knew about the case from so many tech news outlets like a good year or so before V1 came out on Indiegogo and eventually their own website.
      I feel that choosing KickStarter, which has a somewhat bad reputation (South Park episode does not help), really hurt this otherwise awesome niche M-ATX PC case.

    Interesting, as an NCASE owner i see the queues taken. Specially that 92mm fan on teh rear with watercooling routing holes is 100% made for the Frozen Q NCASE reservoir.
    Curiously the SFX PSU don't typically support SLI/XFire because they only have a single PCI PWR out. Meaning at best, in stock cabling configurations you only have 2x 8pins (or 6pin or combination of both). So you can run 2 GPU's so long as they only have a single connector.

  • @Tedlasman

    what does this case needs is:
    1. Cable Managemeng shroud inside the case,becase you know guys the frustration of a spaggetti on your system.
    2. Rubber grommets for psu, case fans and hdd/ssd.
    3. magnetic dust filters on front, bottom and top panels.
    This case is really intendent for lan parties (although it might be a little challenging due to its weight) or if you just want to save some space on you desktop area.

  • @boatrat
    @boatrat 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Re. the issue of not allowing 240mm rads on the side hinge-bracket: It's because there is no PSU configuration that doesn't conflict with it. Obviously if you go with PSU in the alternate rear position, both SFX and ATX sizes preclude the AIO rad either way. But the fact that in the front position, even the smaller SFX (or SFX-L) are oriented flat toward the front, with the width of the PSU taking up the width of the whole case cross-wise -- this is what precludes the 240mm radiators in that configuration also.
    And the overall length (i.e. "depth") of the case is not enough to allow the PSU mount to be rotated 90-degrees, for the thinner PSU dimension to allow a radiator next to it. Because the PSU would run over the front RAM-slots on the motherboard that way, unless the whole case was about 3 inches longer.

    This might be a decent enterprise on-the-go case. The production unit better be that durable and have a handle for that price though. The video isn't the usual HWC quality. I didn't mind this overview, as it was Dmitry channeling first his inner Tiny Tom Logan and, ever so briefly, Ahnold. As for the case, I think it fills that niche of super-compact Micro ATX void that a lot of the SFF crowd seeks, but for us Canadians, that $249.00 U.S. backing price equates to around $300.00, which is getting up into Caselabs territory. And I've also found that super-compact designs usually mean compromising of water cooling capability that I so treasure. Unfortunately there is a 25 litre Raijintek Styx that fills the WC and attractive, compact category very nicely, even though it's nigh impossible to get outside of Europe, but is all aluminum exterior panels.

  • @infernaldaedra
    @infernaldaedra 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    For a Matx case I would like to see a Drive bay on the front while still having a good compact size. The price is steep and this case probably won't sell while the Fractal Design Arc Mini exists, which has all the features this case lacks at less than half the price. Even has a pretty window.

    The case is nearly perfect imo. Cable management is not an issue because if you are going custom, you will cut every cable to size; everyone single one - this will end up being a much cleaner look. Also, dust would not be a problem if you use woman panty hose to stick your fans into.
    My only issue is the power and I/O cables being viewable from the front panel side openings. I also wish they gave the option to remove I/O just leaving the power button for a much cleaner look. I would still buy the case though.

    I believe this case still needs some work. It needs some form of cable management, even if it's very minimal. Then there is all the open space for dust, so dust filters of some kind.

  • @JetBen555
    @JetBen555 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's no cable holes and space behind the motherboard tray for cable management... so just for that simple reason, id skip that case. I know it would make the case a bit wider but it would totally worth it.

    I think this case desperately needs dust filters especially if you want to mount fans on the side hinged bracket.
    Nice martenitza by the way Dmitry

    I love the design of the case.
    I would use it as an ITX or mATX with single large GPU and bottom rad.
    If they took away 2 expansion slots and made a 280 top rad location it would still leave room for intake fans under the GPU likely. PSU could go front or back.
    Or shorten case and extend it so that large GPUs can be utilized with from rad. GPUs are getting more powerful and are getting longer and wider to keep them cool, so cases even SFF need to be able to fit them and cool hem.

    The issue with kickstarter for cases is you need to make enough in profit to get a 2nd run of cases if you want to continue to sell them making your margins have to be quite high. For this price I would rather have an Ncase M1 and have a lighter smaller case for cheaper.

      +HardwareCanucks The whole thing feels a bit like "Paid programming" on TV late at night, you normally would destroy this thing in your "Standardized" reviews. The second camera angle ( The 45 degrees to your left ) is a bit shaky and distracting ( Not that bad but unusual for your content ) and no b-roll , no well-balanced and tasteful bokeh we're used to . I mean It's just weird ! I'm a huge fan and I adore your content but this one felt so out of place. I hope you don't take it the wrong way .

      +Anthony Savoie All constructive feedback is well received here :) I love hearing on how we can improve our content. I hear ya about the 2nd angle and no B-roll. That was kind of the new recipe we were trying for time sensitive content, see what works and what doesn't. This was not a paid piece, we never charge for reviews/overviews.

      I have to agreed with Anthony, I think the pace of this format is a lot slower.
      Your reviews are always under 10 minutes usually between 5-8 minutes, in that time-frame you cover basically every aspect of the product.
      In this video, you spread the same amount of information out to fit in a video that's almost double the length of your average review.
      What I really like about your channel is that you make slick, short, informative reviews.
      Who knows, I might just have to get used to this, but for now I generally prefer your review videos.

    Hey! I just bought Amazon.ca's no 1 best selling computer case the XON-310. I love it! and for $26 Canadian I think you cant go wrong. You could make an awesome 5 minuet video about this product and pay homage to your ultra budget constrained subscribers. The XON-310 does not even have to hold some fancy rig in it, maybe your Parents computer, media centre ect.

    This video would have been much better if there was an actual system inside to help us understand this style of case. I've been watching HWC for a while and I prefer the older style videos too. Seemed like this video was uncut, let's get this video uploaded as quickly as possible, type of deal. As for the case, I can't imagine that there is a market for this for price point. It doesn't even have many of the standard features a $100 case offers. I would look for the NOVA X2M from CASELABS.

    I absolutely love the design, pretty similar to Define Nano S but smaller. I'd buy it in a heartbeat but lord almighty the price on these kickstarter cases is insane. I understand they're not mass produced but 300$ when the aforementioned Define Nano S is 70$ or so is crazy.

    space efficiency wise, silverstone sg09 and sg10 are champs. The only thing I find very odd in them is airflow pattern. Thats the only thing that kept me from buying one. Some of the small decisions made by silverstone were just mistakes imho, like slim opticald rive bay, weird fan placement that isnt even filtered (if you use it as an intake, thats a problem, if you use it as an exhaust, then its placed in most random spot ever, where it wont beneftit the cooling at all). Anyways, I am gald to see more cases in this form factor, because I personally find it perfect. Gives you enough flexibility and doesnt take unnecessary space. Most pc folk with budget constraints dont utilise most of the pci-e slots anyway.

    to remove the side panel, you need to remove the top and front panel. to remove the top panel, you need to remove the handle on top. so thumbscrews are not a bad idea after all.

    Good attempt at multicam. My personal advice would be try forgetting what you shoot with and focus on content. I tend to do same mistake myself. I put all the effort into making multicam look good and move the focus away from actual content.
    I personally love the pre-planned and meticulously shot videos you usually take with a single camera.
