When I went to buy two 12” 1500rms subs, it came down to the hdx3s and hd12s the latter of which I was told by SSA would play lower and with more authority. Just my experience. Haven’t heard the former in my setup yet though.
I think it’s a tough choice to pick one over the other, they all do like you said have pros and cons to them. But I’d go with whichever one was the most reliable and had the best customer service. I’d rather invest my money and time with a company that also wishes to build solid relationships with their customers for the long haul. Instead of buy one thing from multiple companies and never deal with them again; all because it was the cheapest at the time and trending. However, that’s just how I operate, and nothing against the people who think differently about it. We all prioritize this hobby/industry/lifestyle differently and that’s what makes it fun and enjoyable for everyone!!
I was at slamology, and Tony, the manager of SoundQubed, was there, and he talked to me for over 30 minutes. Great guy, based out of Reno,NV, and I can tell they are a great company and I'm sure their service department would be very helpful. Just my opinion.
I just damaged a NEP Audio Classic 12". Upon original inspection of the sub, I didn't really notice anything. I tested the coils with my meter, one set of coils was at 2.3 Ohms, the other set of coils....0 or OC. Once I got a flashlight and an inspection mirror, I noticed the cone had begun to separate from the spider right at the area where one set of voicecoils was passing between the cone and the spider. I also noticed the glue on the coils looked a little degraded. I'm guessing from heat. I emailed the service guy at NEP and I told them the specs of my box and I suggested that I built the box too big and the damage was caused by over excursion. He said correct and to sent the sub in to be repaired or replaced. It costs 65 bucks to ship it and I only paid 123 for the sub. I have a freshly built box which is also freshly carpeted with no subwoofer to put in it. It's 2.3 cubis feet to compensate for bracing and the woofer itself so the air space for the sub is right at 2 cubic feet. I want an SQ sub. Not really trying to win any Db comps. I just want nice, clean bass. Suggestions???? O and I'm putting the sub in a 2015 Chrysler 300.
I'm going with the hdx3 12 ! They have sizzle 4 easy payments of 69.79 so it makes it a little easier to pay for it !! And I had a hdc3 15 a while back and she got nasty!!
Love the content Parker... I wonder what would perform better two or three of your best $100 subs in a big box or one of your best $300 subs in a smaller box? All wired for the same impedance, powered with the same amp.
Nah one sub with clean power is wherebits at fir sq bro, that's why all pro audio are 8 ohms and if you wire two speakers at home into the same speaker plug jack on the back of your amp you will get a little louder but you will notice that your favorite tracks don't same half as nice.. dirty bass and sometimes nit enough head room leaving enough clean power for a smooth up and sown sight wave causing a square wave which is your clip ie dirty bass so allways give your subs more amp power than there rms rating and be super Conservative on your gains leaving enough headroom before clippi g so you have a clean pre amp signal ,and in turn clean amp signal so if you go full bore on your head unit which I never recommend make sure your gains are well below clipp with ll boost settings off. Start with a solid bass cuz part if the fun in this hobby is the chase of getting a second sure for the amp then another amp and another couple subs..I think getting the most out of your equipment ie one amp per sub gives you the best idea of what's right or wrong than loads of subs on one amp cuz you will allways be unsure if you havnt got a solid foindattjat engraved in your mind to begin with... remember it's a life long hobby and will give you smiles for miles, either way many subs or not just be happy with what you have and not for or because of someone else or someone else's build... and you won't go wrong at all, do be afraid to ask anyone in person nether whether at a car meet or just someone in traffic that's got his or her or they themselves shiz turned all the way up! 🔊👍
I have 2 HD 12s and they werent lying when they said they take gut wrenching power. Very loud Subs! Only running one Skar Rp 3500.1D. Kinda like locking 2 gorillas in your trunk.
36mm is no typo! 36mm xmax one way. Crazy long throw is a hallmark of all Soundqube subwoofers. It's what they are known for. And again, that is 36mm one way not peak 2 peak.
Hear me out I've got to ask as far power is concerned i understand that the nvx vcw are not as powerful as these here in the video. But how does it compare in your opinion to these subs here. The vcw is at 180 each. Thats a great price for what you get. And the the sq is great. Its a very well rounded subwoofer. Especially in the correct ported box.
Does it really matter if the dust cap is stiff or not though? From my experience it doesn’t, but I’ve noticed you always mention that. Keep up the good work regardless bro!
Had this vid playing in the background and heard "Would not fit my hole" and died 🤣🤣🤣. For a split second I thought you were taking subwoofer testing too far.
I just got a 15 ab hd d2ohm and I put it in a 4 cubed box tuned at 32 hertz and it doesn't hit as hard as I was hoping for. My skar zvx was hitting way harder and took less power to move. I have an agm in the back and and stock alt. Maybe my alt is going out cause my batteries aren't seeing above 13.8 anymore and lights dim pretty bad on the deep notes
@@Frances_P for sure American bass subs are underrated GET MORE POWER!!! Better electrical!!! Make sure that you have your meter wired directly at The Amp so you know the true voltage your amp is actually seeing
parker you crazy bastard! you're part of my inspiration as to why i'm doing 1 bass 8k per american bass hd lmao. 5-7 k should be doable with proper box and cone control on the american bass hd (did u know original hd spec was 2.5k rms and 5k max?) awesome vid
sensitivity specs and Fs means jack unless they are measured anyways, especially for car audio stuff. Sensitivity especially because it is voltage dependent, and manufacturers are not required to test anything uniformly and even then it depends on the load impedance; a dual-1 wired to 0.5 will more a lot more sensitive that a dual 4 wired down to 2 ohms, by a factor of 4-6 dB, but that doesn't make it actually more efficient, it's wayyy more complicated than that. But other than that, good review with shots of the smd meter.

Long story short you will be satisfied lmao Get a good custom tuned box and i’d recommend a second battery or even a cap Bc 1 battery on 2 of those monsters will just drain your car battery and it most likely won’t bump as hard. Thank you for making all these videos. I like them so much that you are the first person I subscibe to on youtube. Helps us ouside US to get som info on products not sold in our countries and thinking of importing. Could you make a video comparing your top top 5-6 all time favorite 12" subs? Or just write the list here with links to the test videos if you have already made videos on them. It would also be nice to know what the box you used when testing them are tuned to. If price range are not same on them, it's not important, just overall performance. I listen to very deep bass music, like it seems you do and sometime I also go really high in volume for long drives so if they can handle some beating without getting too hot it's a big bonus. I am a fanatic on in-house sterio so the sound quality I have tunes my ears to is really sensitive and I am having some issues with car sterio in sound quality because of this. I like deep but I don't like the bass to "linger" so I have found myself prefering closed boxes in bass quality and reaction but feel like I can't get as high as I would like sometimes without quality of sound being affected a little so I'm going to import some elements from different brands to test what I prefer but it would be great to narrow it down to a few brands to buy due to the high cost of shipping. Thanks in advance from Norway. I should point out that I have 3 cars, mercedes coupe, audi sedan and Volvo v50 where 2 of the 3 are high end upgraded to SPL level in power supply and deadening so if the various elements do better in smaller og bigger cars is not important as I will find the right car for them. Sorry for the long comment.

I have a hdx3 15 it smashes the lows I love it.
Do you still own the sub? How are you liking it?
When I went to buy two 12” 1500rms subs, it came down to the hdx3s and hd12s the latter of which I was told by SSA would play lower and with more authority. Just my experience. Haven’t heard the former in my setup yet though.
Ssa said the hd would play lower? Or
I think it’s a tough choice to pick one over the other, they all do like you said have pros and cons to them.
Scar has really awesome Customer Service and it’s lifetime they don’t start avoiding you after your amp or subwoofer warranty runs out
I was at slamology, and Tony, the manager of SoundQubed, was there, and he talked to me for over 30 minutes. Great guy, based out of Reno,NV, and I can tell they are a great company and I'm sure their service department would be very helpful. Just my opinion.
That American bass was putting on a show from this view. Pretty impressive.
That’s awesome! You’ll love it
I'm kinda hung up on the hdx3 or the zvx 12 which one do your prefer??
@@paulcherry1520 you didn't watch the video?
Love the content Parker... I wonder what would perform better two or three of your best $100 subs in a big box or one of your best $300 subs in a smaller box? All wired for the same impedance, powered with the same amp.
Hard to beat surface area
I have a single 12in 2DVC VXF, on a RP-1500, and that thing is a monster
From how they sound in the video I’d go with the db. It’s probably a lot harder to get a good recording of these subs than the $100 group
I run 3 American Bass XD-12 D2's and I love them! My next upgrade is going to be the American Bass HD's. Great video man!
I got 2 xfl 15s thinking bout upgrading to hds too
@@nick40G You ever upgrade to the HD's Im in the same boat rn with the XFLs
@@rashad5286 no, I picked up 2 RS platinum 15's
I have 2 HD 12s and they werent lying when they said they take gut wrenching power. Very loud Subs! Only running one Skar Rp 3500.1D. Kinda like locking 2 gorillas in your trunk.
@@killakyleismI have a Banda 8k on mine. They can handle some power for sure
36mm is no typo! 36mm xmax one way. Crazy long throw is a hallmark of all Soundqube subwoofers. It's what they are known for. And again, that is 36mm one way not peak 2 peak.
Love american bass subwoofers.
That skar sounded clean AF
I would really like to see you test out digital designs audio the redline 700s are monsters
They are loud as hell!!! I had one and lost it in a storage when i moved. I had the redline 715
What would a DD 2512 be compared to?
@@brotharobmusic which brand has cleaner bass? CT Sounds or DD Audio?
Fi audio ssd is incredible but order one now because they take weeks to build
Yep took 8 weeks for my Fi sp4 v.2 to be build had it over 3years pushing it with a Rockford fosgate T2500 bdcp still going strong!
Month & half for my XV3 😓
I have a fi audio bl 12 and I love it . It plays everything and can take a lot of power .
Andys709 I wish I bought a bigger model I can’t imagine what the sp4+ sounds like
Andys709 I have 2 12’s on a crescendo 3k.2 and it’s impressive for what it is
Hear me out I've got to ask as far power is concerned i understand that the nvx vcw are not as powerful as these here in the video. But how does it compare in your opinion to these subs here. The vcw is at 180 each. Thats a great price for what you get. And the the sq is great. Its a very well rounded subwoofer. Especially in the correct ported box.
Can’t wait to see the build vid then hear it at Sundown Show! Keep up the good work my man!!
I have a skar 15” DX it’s only 600rms but I’m putting a 1000 watts to it and holding up great, great video man 👍
I got back in to sub culture and skar impressed me. I beat mine for a year and counting and delivered. Blind comparison people were shocked. Sdr btw
Does it really matter if the dust cap is stiff or not though? From my experience it doesn’t, but I’ve noticed you always mention that. Keep up the good work regardless bro!
HDX3 vs VFX on a Wolfram AW1500 & why ?
Had this vid playing in the background and heard "Would not fit my hole" and died 🤣🤣🤣. For a split second I thought you were taking subwoofer testing too far.
You already know what I'm about to say bro😁😁
American Bass FTW!!!
I have noticed when im listening to music via Bluetooth in my car the connection really sux compared to an aux cord connection is that normal?
Man you should have done the resilient sounds golds. No one reviews resilient sounds. They’re coming up.
Agreed. I would love a Gold 15
Just bought 4 of the Audiopipe TXX-BDC2-12s. Gotta finish the sound dampening install then they go in. Keep up the videos man. Doing good work
@Elliott Feaster the trash subs were the Rockvilles that just came out. I dont have 1200 bucks to drop on an Fi or an Sundown. So kiss my ass
Soundquebed no doubt. Born from the legends at DD...
parker you crazy bastard! you're part of my inspiration as to why i'm doing 1 bass 8k per american bass hd lmao. 5-7 k should be doable with proper box and cone control on the american bass hd (did u know original hd spec was 2.5k rms and 5k max?) awesome vid
update just installed the bass 8k they are at .5 and it's so happy
I currently have 2 15” American bass XR they are a beast
sensitivity specs and Fs means jack unless they are measured anyways, especially for car audio stuff.
I’ve had American bass they’re actually really good subs. 2 xfl 10’s have fi audio now I’m in love . But I would definitely use American bass again.
Thank you sir. Keep these coming, they really help out
Be great to compare to SQ subs like the Adire Brahma or Image Dynamics IDMAX12
I have 4 AB HD's on a true 10k in my avalanche. I also have 2 of them in my tahoe that way if I ever blow one I can just swap them out real quick. Been going on three years now never had one single issue. I've one three shows in cali and three in washington
Yeah they are solid subs. I have two 12s on a Banda 8k and they handle it no problem and absolutely pound
This was a very informative video! Thanks.
My prediction is -soundQ best SQ, Skar loudest, AmericanB best all around and deafB is a good sub just not as good as those others. Ok let’s see.. we’ll I was kinda right about the soundQ. Great video. Dude you got a gift your a great TH-cam channel👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
You should give a pride 12 a shot when you get a chance. And keep up the good videos
Definitely would be hard to beat pride one quality from what I have seen
How can one get a Pride subwoofer? Is there someone that sells them in the US?
@@sleepzzz800 go to the pride website and they will show you the us dealers that have the subs and if that do not have the particular sub you want they can order it for you and have it delivered to you.
martiz partee I may have to try some out in the near future!! Pride audio looks nice!
Parker, it's time to do some sound deadening buddy!
I personally like them all. I am running the SAv2s and kinda been thinking of changing it up. But the HDX3 and HDs always been on my list.
I ran two hdx3 18s on a dd m4a at .5 and did 152 at 38hz in my 01 suburban no-wall build single brandX320a alt and two misolar 16.5ah lithiums running the truck and system bangin bros shared me on fb a fewmonthsback
How’s the sa v2 on the lows?
@@israeltorres4109 they do pretty good I have my box tuned to 36hz so I don’t play it lower then 26hz. But if it was tuned lower I bet they still would do great!
@@bradgilpin9740 what are your thoughts SAv2 vs EVL?
@@JayyBird93 I personally don’t have a ton of experience with a EVL. I had a 12” EVL for like a month. I noticed the dimples they get from excursion. Other than that it was a decent sub. I had a single VVXv3 for like 6 months then a pair of VVXv3 12s and they were great subs. Skar subs are decent subs. Sundown subs are decent subs. I personally would go SAv2 if you could afford them. My opinion tho.
Just googled the American bass hd and they are $500 bucks... Just a couple years ago I could pick them up for practically nothing, I flubbed up not grabbing them when they were way cheaper!
You should try the Orion hcca regular or black coil 2500 watt rms regular coil black coil is 10000 watt max 5000 watt normal and 2500 watt rms would be a good sub for you to put on your channel
I bought 2 12inch vxf hopefully I am satisfied
i have 1 zvx 12 and yeah it’s more powerful than the vxf, 2 of those will bump harder than my single zvx 12 and let me tell you, my sub does not let me down dude it is powerful. dumps bass like crazy and you can hear me from a ways lol. Long story short you will be satisfied lmao Get a good custom tuned box and i’d recommend a second battery or even a cap Bc 1 battery on 2 of those monsters will just drain your car battery and it most likely won’t bump as hard. But when you start getting big boy subs you gotta take big boy precautions and get certain upgrades
I’M SUB’d…he speaks from experience, plus a whole lot of southern flavored enthusiasm…much love, bro…peace out..:)
Man I'm glad u make these videos u help me with my decisions
What did you end up getting?
I’ve just bought my amp and my wiring kit should be here today hopefully
Thought about a amp dyno would be nice to know the true power of some of these budget "high power" amps
@LifeBeginsWithChrist I have but I like Jacob he does good work I think it would make a great addition to his channel
Parker I've heard you say it 2 times now, your doubts on 36mm Xmax for the HDX3.. after 1 month @ running at around 1000 watts in a 3.1 cubic foot enclosure tuned at 28hz I started feeding it 1800-2100 watts and yes it's very capable of 36mm one way.. 146.7db from a single HDX3 @ 33hz in a 350z... windshield flex is 3/8... IT'S NOT A TYPO 36XMAX, go to Soundqubed and check their specs.. 76mm of usable throw!!!
The DB sa 272 is 504 ounce total weight (31.5lbs) not sure exactly on the motor by itself I know I have this sub
Is it good? What would you wana say about it I'm getting a good deal for these should I?
Keep doing what you are doing bro!! Do your thang!!! I’m tuned in for whatever you bring to the table.
I would choose the AB or SQ sub they sounded better but the AB would have overall better quality 👌
Soundqubed hdx3s has five years of R&D behind it ..also was brought to life by the legends from DD audio... hdx3s have better quality that the AB
Those HD's just seem to be really well designed subs. Kind of a sweet spot where its powerful, sensitive, and not too sloppy.
Yo can you review harmony even tho I’ve already bought the monolith 🙈sells for 280 1600rms
Just now ordered America bass 12 inch subs can't wait
hey parker, i might be early enough but i really think you should look at the wdx line from DB drive, i run two WDXG2 12’s in a custom octoport box and i hit 151 at 32 hz please check em out!

Damn I just got 2 vxf 12s gonna do a trunk build this vid makes me rethink it
Either way it would slam. I have a single EVL 12 verry happy with it
I had 2 vxf 12s my last build and did a 151.1db legal. Tuned at 30, smashed Lows like no other, I'd stick to your guns and just go with the vxf
I think this review is really puts them all close together meaning you can't go wrong with either really
My 2 VXF 15s play down to 24hz in a box tuned to 30hz. That's pretty low imo without having a bandpass enclosure. Also just took 1st place today in modified 2 class at a Mecca audio competition with a 150.3 at 35hz. I'm not saying the HDX3 can't do that bc idk. Just saying that the VXF definitely get down so you definitely wont be disappointed
My EVL 12 loves rebased songs 26-29hz
My box is a slot port tuned to 32Hz. I’m only on a Rp.1200 amp also, it rattles the crap out of my extended cab Chevy but I’m gonna be upgrading to a pair of evl 15’s eventually
