    Gosh, it's looking so run down from when I remember it! It's a pity you didn't extend the drive and go down and check out the schools (GH, Marondera High). Or down 1st street all the way to the end. Would love to see a video of Acacia Grove where I used to live!

    NICE ONE. O0oh! Point of correction: It was first called Marondera, and not Marandellas. And, is Marondera now to the East of Harare?

    • @xvrtfgdee
      @xvrtfgdee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi @Makanaka Marondera is indeed to the East of Harare. It is the provincial capital of Mashonaland East

    • @joycematadijoycematadi3467
      @joycematadijoycematadi3467 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      During Smith time it was called Marandellas

    • @makanakamaenzanise3602
      @makanakamaenzanise3602 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joycematadijoycematadi3467 Correct, The point I made was that the reporter had said 'first called Marandellas', whereas the truth is it had first been 'Marondera', then distorted to 'Marandellas', then restored now back to 'Marondera'. Young eople (and foreigners) do not know that these names were original, but later distorted,,,,to them Harare was first called Salisbury; which is totally WRONG.

    I want to know what criteria is used to determine whether a place is a city or town , village /hamlet ...coz this surely cant be a city ...its a not even wolly a town ...its a "small town" ...with old buildings

    • @kenyanson9734
      @kenyanson9734 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Kenya a town to be a city must a hv a population over 300k,sewage system, international airport, stadium etc

    All 68 000 people in Marondera have Honda FIT cars. 😂😂😂

    • @miriamchiwara4473
      @miriamchiwara4473 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really but the Honda fit is more like taxi ... considering the time at which the video was taken honda fit ' mushika shika' was and is still the main means of transportation in Marondera ever since the zupco issue started....I will give you an example if you go to Nyanga location or Makhaza in South Africa the avanca which they call ' pele' ....it's also a small type of a car they use as a taxi .....you will see those cars in every street and every corner.
