- Sky News host Rita Panahi has labelled the ICC seeking arrest warrants for Hamas leadership and the Israeli Prime Minister and Defence Minister on the same day as a “clear political move”.
The ICC is seeking arrest warrants for three leaders of Hamas, as well as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Defence Minister.
“The decision to announce this action against the Hamas leadership and the Israeli prime minister and defence minister on the same day - it is such a clear political move,” Ms Panahi said.

they literally fully investigated both sides, and detail listed every single thing each one did that broke a law, that's it. no thing of either side is a thing in dispute. the only part in dispute is whether people feel x or y thing was "justified" or not, but that was never mentioned in nor the point of the report and warrants...

These talking points about "no equivalence" are a complete red-herring and full-on misread of international law.
The only "equivalence" in play here -- and it is a vitally important -- is that every government official, every soldier or police officer, every member of an armed group or terrorist organization and quite simply every individual, everywhere, may be held accountable for crimes under international law, and when the International Criminal Court is seized of the matter must and will face the possibility of arrest, trial and conviction.
That is the sole reason that the ICC Prosecutor is seeking these five arrest warrants. Every country should encourage and support his office and the ICC judges seized of this matter; and have their back in the face of opposition and hostility.
The best way to avoid being "equated" with the "terrorist leaders of Hamas" would be to scrupulously respect and uphold international laws regarding genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Benjamin Netanyahu & Yoav Gallant are, unfortunately, nowhere near that goal. Thus, arrest warrants are sought.

The ICC is comprised of the brightest, most experienced Legal minds on the planet. Any Country the abides by the International Rules of Law will naturally accept and enforce its findings.
They are independent, and, do not rely on external funding by outside vested interests. Thank goodness. At some point, most Countries will approach the ICC for independent investigation of their Concerns. Australia has nothing to gain by abandoning the ICC over Israels conduct in Gaza.
