Holden, haven't seen Expanse yet so didn't have a clue. But yes the naming scheme in this game is spot on!
This and Starsector are two games that I've been looking for for a very long time. Sseth's video on Starsector is what notified me on that and now Baradul has introduced me to Space Haven! Thank you for introducing this game to us, Baradul!
there was an indie game a few years ago called spacebase ds9, which had a similar artsyle and building pattern,. but was never really a complete game. this looks really fun
Definitely, exactly my first thought (although being in the UK it was called UFO-Enemy Unknown). Awesome game that I've played many times since (VirtualBox is a godsend for creating a virtual machine to play it). Hopefully Space Haven has the same addictive nature, can't wait to give it a try.
@@BobWolf006 You obviously haven't been acquainted with Starsector aka Starfarer for very long. The game has been in development for almost a decade now, with steady updates, which usually take from half a year up to over a year to be implemented. Don't worry, until Alex says the game is done, the updates will keep coming. Also, like mentioned here, the modding community has been at it for almost as long as the game has had playable versions.
i'm waiting for this game to have vertical layers, since my #1 problem with it is you are sometimes forced to keep two or more ships to fit everything, although that kind of works to have like a freighter tagging along your main ship, but personally i want to put everything in one ship, and like a naval ship have things on decks ie (engines and reactors on the mid-level deck, storage and freight on the bottom deck, living quarters and bridge on the bow and upper deck of a ship)
I assume your pawns were getting annoyed because they had to stay in thier suits. you exposed the base to vacuum when you were adding rooms. I'm not sure if it this game works that way but that's my 2 cents. Edit: forgot to say I'm loving this and hope you make a series.

How do you like this game compared to rimworld? about the same little better or worse not as complex or more? more or less daunting to a beginner compared to Rimworld

Starsector... I'm sure I paid money for that about 10 years ago... Still enjoyed some of it.

You had me at FTL. You should check out Oxygen Not Included, it has so much similar to this. It's worth your while.
There is no sound in space. I expect the omission of sound during the derelect scavange was for thematic reasons.
