I always forget how important the "RPG" mechanics are in MW5 when starting a new game. Rushing in with a fresh, inexperienced pilot in a lightly-armored mech is always a fun way to be reminded how important pilot stats are in this game haha
Oh yeah, not even a DOUBT. With fresh stats, 1v1 in a Light is a pretty quick way to lose the Mech if you aren't used to how that mech works or haven't the skill to pull consistent shots (For instance, I tend to jitter too much)
Hi baradul, a note with your mod list. SMMO should not be run with YAML, it's been integrated in for months now, and actually has just been upgraded to the Star Map Tips Enhanced version in YAML.
Fun as always, and I can't wait to see the new wacky pirate gear. One thing, I think you should use your custom Marauder when you get to the appropriate stage of the game. I like seeing all the different hero mechs on the field, I genuinely enjoy the exploration of all the different items aspect of the modded gameplay experience.
I would love to see a series where you climb the difficulty ladder as you progress. I really loved that aspect of your Breachway series and you seemed to as well. Makes for a more thrilling series and I feel it's the only thing missing from your MW5:M playthroughs.

Marik has one of the best Stalkers. The STK-5M. It will not stop killing. You can rip it down to one Leg and CT and it will still keep firing an ER Large Laser at you. Without getting hot as well!
Yes! Open the notifications and take the resource missions! Later when you get aircraft from the resource and base capture missions, the hostile AA batteries will quickly shoot them down.
A nice build that I use in the vanilla game for the flea-15 is removing all the heatsinks, the machine guns, keeping the small lasers and putting one ac2 for a "sniper" fast firing flea for longer range that still useful at closer range. plus put the ac2 in the first firing group for better AI performance
...or 2 Light Rifles and 5 small lasers. 1 heat sink in enough for that (trimming about half the head armour - but if you headshot a Flea, you deserver the kill!)

Hostile AA Turret means more if you have Aerospace assets (Through some missions that let you get Aerospace Fighters, whether Interceptor, Multi-Role or Attacker. If an AA turret is out and about, you do NOT want to deploy your AS until it is gone, else it will wreck your AS and make for EXPENSIVE repairs.
@Baradul Try this two mods also: Cockpit Glass - rain and snow also affects your glass, you can see raindrops on it, for example. GlassBreak - when you get head damage on your mech, you also gets dents on glass, which makes harder to aim. Both mods from steam library, no problems with installing. Both mods works fine in first person view, so, since it's not your first walktrough, you'll be all good and myabe, you will enjoy the game even more.
@@amplifier8435 it seems to have 2 effects - it seems to mess up being able to swivel after you switch mechs and also since it seems to work by overlaying over effect as a mock cockpit is messes up the view through some mechs
I'd also put in the turret expansion and scary vtols - both definitely add some spice to the non mech opponents. Also use Adjustable Battle Value that will allow you to adjust the difficulty of the enemy spawns

You have a Warning in red on the main menu telling you you have not installed Mod Option. I highly recommend you do. It will create a new tab in the Options menu that will allow you to adjust every mods that use it. You can make the game as easy or hard as you want it to be.
Nice to see you back with a new round of MW5 Mercenaries, the Clans were a bit boring without salvage. Could you play this round without hiring new pilots?
Just started a new campaign as well since I replaced my cpu and motherboard. Going to miss all my saved games since 2019, especially my Kintaro-GB and KGC-KJ.
Not sure if you've thought about/done this already, but I think you could do an interesting start using one of those free mod mechs, and ONLY one of them, and build up your company from salvage

As for Flee for destruction of a city - well, why not? Personally, I prefer Firestarters for this kind of mission. But, maybe, you should have pay attention to mechs, who chasing your bots, because they can easily waste their backs and ruin your run. After all, you're the only one, who needs to be at evac point to end, other can easily spend some time dancing with enemy.
I'm playing through my first campaign. Just bought all the DLS as well. I'm still abit confused of what is happening. What is the difference between campaign and the careers? And should i mod the game ? How do you start the DLCs ? Any advice is much appreciated 10x. This is alot of fun
The Tanks. What says the Lore ? Are they actually manned with a live Crew ? I mean i would bail out asap if Mechs appear. A Single Tank stands no Chance in Hell to not get wrecked by a Mech. Maybe they are Radio or Ai controlled ?
Baradul, 8 parts to build a new mech is too slow, last playthrough you needed at least a dozen episodes to build a new mech, please drop the amount to 6 or 7 parts.
It will be interesting to see if doing 8 WILL make the progression longer...it took me a minute to not worry so much about the level in the top corner being too high or too low for the battle area, trying to keep up with the level always had me fighting underweight and overmatched, maybe staying in place for extended periods until enough pieces will add time to the progression instead of a rushed, undertalented (AI helpers) excursion across the Inner Sphere that we have all seen and experienced ourownselves
@philhastie7882 by itself, needing 8 parts to build a mech won't extend the progression by much, it is however, further compounded by the usual Barabroke approach Baradul loves as well as him not trying to keep up his favorability with the factions as high as possible. The amount of times Baradul hunted a specific mech part to build a new mech, Clan or IS, only to be missing a salvage share or two, or twenty in the Clan mech section last playthrough is easily in the triple digits.

Difficulty wise maybe a themed run might work. Something like calling your company bara’s brawlers and using only small/medium lasers + melee (or something a lot cooler than this suggestion…). I’ve found playing with a theme can keep things interesting both difficulty wise and for just general enjoyment.
You were Neutral with the Independent prior to doing Mission 2 against them. If you would have taken Mission 3 before you did Mission 2 you would have gotten way better Salvage. I've seen you make this same mistake several times throughout your various runs. It doesn't seem like something you factor in when accepting missions.

this is why you save scum, the targeting is not consistant, i have had lancemates die to ct loss with undamaged side torsos. Ct armor and any patchworks to slap even more on are absolute priorities

Isnt another clan invasion also generally not recommended anymore due to bugs?

That flea is why I love starting as Marik. A spider feels like an upgrade.

A.I. controlled Flea is great. I do big fights with heavy mechs and sometimes assault, and all mechs are damaged but not the flea. 😊

There is a setting in mod options, YAML or YAW that can be set so Srm do not explode at max range and can be lobbed further.

U should buy both SLs tier 0 and upgrade them to tier 1 and than install on the mech.

yeha 8 part make no sense... after all a mech have 1 head, 4 limbs and torso = 5 parts maybe 6 if you want torso to be divided in lower and upper ^^
