Hi coach, I always miss the shuttle when I try to hit a smash. Either I miss it completely, or it doesn’t connect properly with the racket. What should I do to improve?
Hi Coach, I've tried this exercise. However, after swinging for 5-6 times, the v grip becomes very loose and it feels like the bat is gonna fall. Is it common or i am doing something wrong? Thanks Kiran
I did a video on how to hold a soft grip without loosing your racket, so please watch that. essentially you need to learn to form a nice V shape cavity with your fingers. If you do that correctly its very difficult for the racket to fall out. However, if it feels like its falling out, it is also a great sign that you have a soft grip. Please watch that video, practice your vertical and horizontal chopping exercises which will help you a lot.
when i coach beginners who dont understand about forearm rotation, its much easier for them to grasp the concept of flopping the racket to square up the face. naturally you are rotating your forearm
normally i would agree with you. in this exercise, it is above teaching people to learn to have a relaxing wrist in this controlled swing, when we are not going for power.
this is more a beginner guide where they tend to hold on to their grip too tight. but yes as you build power, you need to squeeze the fingers and dont let the writst flop
I love this video
thank you.

maybe ask someone to hand feed you and start with stick smash first
@badminton4kids thank you coach
Just wanted to ask here should we also focus on bringing our elbow up during chop and flop, so that we can focus on proper swing is it advisable here?
Just learns to have the hand falling in plane first, and then work on the flop, and then bring in the chop. if that makes sense.
Imagine infront a big clock and try to hit at 1 o clock not at12o clock
1 o'clock is a good analogy. i will use it next time, in conjunction with over the right shoulder

i dont think the wrist at 7:42 correct. As you rotate your wrist, your forearm has to be engaged and rotate as well isn't it.

Bending wrist is not good causes wrist injury

Should you be promoting your forearm instead of fobbing your wrist over like that?

@ Thank you for that clarification. 👍
