I’ve carried the d25c ti, 2015 for years.. still my favorite edc light. Plenty bright, plenty dim and the tint in my xpl-hi neutral model is perfect I’ve also got a 25a ti, 2014 that i bought on clearance for $30-40. I got three of them at the time, kept my favorite (different leds) and sold the others to coworkers who still use em daily. The 25c lives in a jacket or pants pocket while the 25a is more of my go to at home light. Haven’t felt the need to dig back into flashlights since getting them.. although I have had a couple of the 25c over the years. Lost one and I the one I use is the replacement I got. I bought a 2019 model but for a number of reasons, I still prefer my 2015 version.. mostly the tint and the newer one has a delay when switching modes that isn’t present in my older one. So fail there.
Been sitting on it for a while, and I saw that IlluminationGear had an early sale going for the high CRI titanium 2017 model. First item bought on a Nick recommendation, we'll see how it goes!
Hey nick, Have you compared this (EagleTec D25A) with the EagleTac D3A? I have just come across your video, and it seems like the EagleTac D25A is no longer offered in titanium, and I was wondering if this was the "same" light, just with a new handle knurling.
YESSSSSSSSS! this is the review i was dying for! after buying the d25c ti i KNEW the d25a ti would be PERFECT for me. you mentioned the slimness, but what i also found myself wanting was the additional length the aa version would offer and makes it a bit easier to activate for myself. i AM buying this light next week. im trying to decide if i want it with the xp-l or nichia 219. ive come to really like the nichia 219 and im going to take the 14500 out of my zebralight h52 and put it in the d25a. im such a fan of the d25c that i dont mind the width, but this d25a is going to be perfect to me. i love the ui, and could also do without all the rave modes. honestly i thought for a long time the zebralight sc52 was the best single aa flashlight for myself, but i can't wait to get my d25a ti. i have a thrunite archer 1a v3...and its a good light. i got it in cool white and used to love my tn12....but now i hate it and i dont want the 1a v3 anymore. if i find a taker i'll sell it in a heartbeat. but im keeping the tn12 i have the olight s10r. its usually the light i recommend to anyone who wants to get a light after playing with some of mine, but i don't like it anymore. luckily my gf does, and i think ill just give it to her. one other thing, titanium gets warm very fast guys!
Illuminationgear has the 2017 model with the Nichia 219C. It's not quite as pretty as the 219B, though the CRI is technically as good and it's brighter.
Neat light. Have you tried the Olight i5t eos? The price of the Eagletac is a bit high I think for a aa light that only puts out 200 lumens. The i5t eos just has low and high but has a two way clip, better output, and better run times. I think the i5t eos might work better for you.
Uh, just when I think all I need is a few decent throwers, and then this. Just so happens I got a gift card recently, it went to this, but in the SST20 4000K LED,... only one I could find at this point with a decent CRI without buying from China directly. My other AA, which is an Olight i5 has a sticky tail cap, and has had the same problem from about day 1. It nice to know I can always just throw a AA in something if it gets to that. Plus, the UI seems great.
I noticed mine has a slight delay from the time I click the light to when the light comes on, compared to my D25 version. Anyone else noticed this? Thank you for the review.
No idea why I haven't heard of this when I was looking around for edc aa flashlight I wond up buying olight batton 2 and premium batton 3 love them way better than streamlight lights. As for streamlight I'm not going to buy another one had bulbs blow out in a Jr and a microstream second microstream has button issues sometimes requires 3 click to turn on also got tired of changing batteries everyday.
Great review, how about doing a review of the Maratac Copper CR123 XP-G3..thinking it goes pretty well with the Mini Natirx copper...keep the great reviews coming..big fan!
Just picked up an eagtac d25lc2 thanks to your last flashlight review. It takes an 18650 btw and strangely dose not have a tail switch just uses the twist in the head to scroll through the modes.
I'm actually talking with a buddy about borrowing a bigger EagTac along with some other gear, so let's hold off for a bit. Thanks for the offer though!
Anyone have any idea where I can get one of these lights in this configuration with that emitter? All the ones I seem to be able to find are different versions
In my own flashlight shopping, I'm torn between the model reviewed above, and this Peak Eiger in brass with a momentary switch. Please review that one. :p
Hey Nick, Would you mind telling us what LED is used in yours? These come with three different led options to choose from. I'm just curious which yours is because you mentioned you light the colour of the light. I'm leaning more towards a neutral light. Thanks and I always enjoy your videos.
Hey nick, I'm interested to see what you think of zebralight and armytek lights. Hope you can find one of the latter to review :) Also, can you do a stropping tutorial? The others I could find meandered about and weren't easy on the eyes nor ears.
zebralight is good. i have the h52 and its still one of my favorites. i think the armytek tiara's and similar are good to go too but i dont have any experience with them and id probably just go for the zebralight. however, i plan to get this d25a ti instead of an sc52. i wanted an angled light so thats why i went for an h52. ive carried it as my only light and was fine.
Hah. No, when I filmed this guy, the Delica was on loan to my buddy Ian over at TechandTools. You can see it make a cameo in his "Ultimate Delica" video. th-cam.com/channels/UMlUWa768dcnq84eCFJYjA.html
Does anyone know how this compares to the Thrunite Ti4t. I only plan on using standard AA or standard AAA's which is why i'm stuck on which one to get. Cost isint much a concern, more so performance etc. Thanks!
Thanks! anyone heard of the quality of eagtac? Im used to purchasing from nitecore and thrunite, in truth, this is the first time ive heard of eagletac.
i have the ti4. it's good but i hate the pocket clip and user interface. im going to either sell it or trade it. when i wanted a pen light for edc i settled on the preon p2 since you can program the modes. since im not using it for extended periods i want it to come on in high mode first, personally. also i have a buddy who's lost 2 ti4's. i bent my pocket clip to give it more retention because ive almost lost mine a few times. also my friends and i are assholes so we'll turn strobe on in eachothers faces or use it to get someones attention and with the ti4's ui you have to click the tailswitch 7 times to get to it so thats less fun.
man, give us epileptics a strobe warning lol. As soon as i see strobe i tend to back right away from a light, the only exception is something like a Thrunite, as you can learn to just avoid that, as it requires a specific pattern to get to... but they at least only include 1.
Nick, your channel... It's a beautiful thing. Could you do a video comparing this to the D25C? I know your D25C was an older version (do you still have it?), but it would be good to see the two side by side and for you to compare their outputs. It would be really good to see some comparison between a 14500 or a standard AA, as well as the Cr123 v the 16340? Would love to see the results, as you say in this video that your D25A can outshine (pun intended) the D25C.. Is this perhaps due to the age of the D25C? Anyway, love your channel buddy. Keep up the good work!
I'd love to, but alas, the D25C is already back at its home. But I much prefer the D25A. Also, beamshots are tough, as my phone's camera isn't great at capturing the overall amount of light, as it auto-adjusts the exposure. Sorry about that!
This is completely your fault, but i ended up buying the D25A (I already own the D25C). It is in fact brighter than the D25C when you use 14500s. My D25C is rated at 485 Lumens, so you were bang on the money with saying its around 500 lumens. Just thought you might be interested!
Sadly, I bought this and have been carrying for a month. I very much dislike the programming. I find myself getting frustrated with cycling through the modes. Great construction etc but a little complex for me (admittedly it might just be me)
Dang, just ordered with the nichia219.whats the difference? I just started edc'n...lol.i keep ending up back at your vids...so.now I have a delica&ETd25ati...lol.what wallet do u rock? I got the bellroyslimsleeve.its great so far?thanks for the great reviews

I must be living my life wrong.
60 years old and I have never been in a position where I needed even one strobe mode, no less multiple strobe modes
That glow in the dark button is a great feature!
I just bought the nitecore ea11 all because it seemed ok and it takes a AA..Now I will have to buy one of these.. Thanks for the review..
Absolutely love this light!! I just ordered the 2017 D25C...!
i have owned mine for a year and have enjoyed it very much. thank you for the recommendation nick
I like this light so much I bought d25a & d25c love them both Nick your reviews are costing me lots of money lol
Been sitting on it for a while, and I saw that IlluminationGear had an early sale going for the high CRI titanium 2017 model. First item bought on a Nick recommendation, we'll see how it goes!

The Nichia is hard to fine these days in Ti!
Illuminationgear has the 2017 model with the Nichia 219C. It's not quite as pretty as the 219B, though the CRI is technically as good and it's brighter.

That's the light I carry. It's the best flashlight I've ever used
It's a damned good choice.
i'll be in the club next week!
Hey nick please check out and review the new version. The D3a ti i just picked one up its perfect with a nicha LED. love your vids by the way man.
Uh, just when I think all I need is a few decent throwers, and then this. First Nick recommended buy, EDC might be a new habit/hobby! Thanks Nick!
I noticed mine has a slight delay from the time I click the light to when the light comes on, compared to my D25 version. Anyone else noticed this?
Thank you for the review.

Bloody hell, I can't find it anywhere ! Semmes I came to late...
Does anyone know if they will produce another batch ?
Gyrocompa there’re out now on Amazon and eBay
Great review, how about doing a review of the Maratac Copper CR123 XP-G3..thinking it goes pretty well with the Mini Natirx copper...keep the great reviews coming..big fan!
me mumblin to myself: "please don't be a gem, please don't be a gem, please dont be a gem".... Damn it..off to Amazon..
Haha exactly
Just picked up an eagtac d25lc2 thanks to your last flashlight review. It takes an 18650 btw and strangely dose not have a tail switch just uses the twist in the head to scroll through the modes.
Interesting! I should check one out!
+Nick Shabazz I could send it out to you if you want
I'm actually talking with a buddy about borrowing a bigger EagTac along with some other gear, so let's hold off for a bit. Thanks for the offer though!
Since you have both of the a and C versions, maybe you could tell me if the beam pattern is the same on both?
And here I was, regretting waiting too long to buy the D25C Ti and missing out, only to find out the the D25A Ti is what I'm really after.
The brand new ones are now at IlluminationGear, with brighter LEDs :)
Nick Shabazz really, in titanium?
Damn you Nick, you make my wallet cry.
Yep! They're great!
Anyone have any idea where I can get one of these lights in this configuration with that emitter? All the ones I seem to be able to find are different versions
This light....with a Spyderco Wire clip!
+ssunfish Be still my beating heart!
i actually enjoy the clip very much the two screws on the top that stick out are nice and grippy
its got less than half the lumens of the d25c... how could it be brighter?
What 14500 cell do you use nick?
Been looking for the nichia 2017 d25a but no one seems to have anymore.
you gotta try the peak eiger. they're excellent EDC lights. just some food for thought.
Will do!
In my own flashlight shopping, I'm torn between the model reviewed above, and this Peak Eiger in brass with a momentary switch. Please review that one. :p

Brian-Benjamin Izdebski did you end up getting one?wich bulb did you go with?
Where can i get this light? Looks very sturdy. AMAZING Video
mars GIA amazon or eBay
Happen to own this still?
Hey nick, I'm interested to see what you think of zebralight and armytek lights. Hope you can find one of the latter to review :) Also, can you do a stropping tutorial? The others I could find meandered about and weren't easy on the eyes nor ears.
+Jason Ng I can definitely talk a bit about stropping, and I've got a few Zebralight reviews in the queue now! No ArmyTek yet, though!
zebralight is good. i have the h52 and its still one of my favorites. i think the armytek tiara's and similar are good to go too but i dont have any experience with them and id probably just go for the zebralight. however, i plan to get this d25a ti instead of an sc52. i wanted an angled light so thats why i went for an h52. ive carried it as my only light and was fine.
No Delica for size? O.o
Hah. No, when I filmed this guy, the Delica was on loan to my buddy Ian over at TechandTools. You can see it make a cameo in his "Ultimate Delica" video. th-cam.com/channels/UMlUWa768dcnq84eCFJYjA.html
What do you think of the flip knives leatherman made? Have you ever seen one?
Never played with Leatherman's knives, just their tools. Are you a fan?
+Nick Shabazz i've never seen one either thats why I asked, thought you might have. I don't think they make them anymore.
What 14500 battery fits in this light
What is the strobe for?! Pissing of a mugger so you get beaten more...

I ended up with the XP-L version, but I probably would have gone Nichia if it were still available.
unfortunately xp-l is all im finding also...so xp-l it is!
shame it looks like this light is discontinued
nice light!!! great review!!
man, give us epileptics a strobe warning lol.

I refuse to even consider a flashlight that does not have, at least, "10,000 Lumens!!"
Wich bulb is this ?the 2017 version has 3 bulb options wich one would you recommend ?
I did the Neutral White De-Domed.
Nick Shabazz and what else do I need?
+Jay c Nichia is even more color correct, just a bit less bright. Also a great choice!
Nick Shabazz great thank you sir!
Looks ok,but no reversable clip at 75(or more by now),I'm gonna say no thanx
Beam is good for search. Not a EDC.
