@@nameless-user legally? No. In reality? Copyright infringement (which is what digital piracy falls into) is a civil dispute. As in the effected party, Activision, would specifically have to seek out legal action against the pirates. Thats why youll hear about companies like Nintendo sending a cease and desist, which is basically a warning of legal action, to rom modders, fan games, and piracy sites. No individual person would realistically be in danger since finding a single individual who pirated the thing would be basically impossible.
TL;DR: yes but the owners of the game dont care enough to do any thing about it. Thus "Abandonware", abandoned software.
@@nameless-user Pretty sure but even if it wasn't, no one's coming after you for it. There's no way for the devs or the music labels to earn money off of GH3 anymore so they don't care what happens to it.

How should the trill in Slash guitar battle been done? Make the greens following the single non-green notes into HOPOs?
And half the charts on C3 Customs seemed to learn all the wrong lessons from these.
Some of the C3 charts could legitimately be Harmonix quality though, so it’s hit and miss.
I'm not sure either, he makes comments on everything like it's supposed to be obvious what's wrong, but I almost never see anything wrong and he never explains. It's kind of annoying

Edit: Since you guys have turned this comment into a thread discussing the morality of pirating, allow me to share my perspective on the matter. If you cannot afford it or if it’s no longer accessible to acquire legally (as is the case for all Guitar Hero DLC), pirate it. If it’s accessible legally and you can afford it, and the entity providing it is actually deserving of your gratitude and support (basically, not Activision 🤣), then support said entity officially.
That goes for any content you can't legally get anymore ;)

People seem so afraid of piracy of this kind-of thing like the feds are gonna come knocking on the door or something. Completely understand that Abandonware is a big grey area, but it doesn't seem to have caused any big legal issues at the moment (at least any I know of). The company ain't gonna care to keep sellin', so take it in your own hands.

loving the console content. seeing these games in the spotlight is so awesome. GH3's xbox hopo engine is pretty awesome but man strumming awkward bursts of strums or fast bursts of strums is so scary cause its so easy to over strum lmfao.

why is too much problem on pirating something that isn't possible to get anymore? I mean, is practically abandonware at this point... unless they remaster the GH3 with DLCs in a new GH engine... but we know that's never gonna happen (praying everyday for this to happen, tbh)

I was here for these.
Way back before I got any GH game for myself I played the Halo theme as someone's house on Easy. Having no determination to continue playing a song if I couldn't hit all the notes I thought Guitar Hero kinda sucked. (I was clearly not open to music game sat the time. Also I'm not sure the game was well calibrated, like I knew how to do that in '07.) I came back to this game so hard after learning that Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce was a DLC song. It took years but I was so darn happy when I was good enough to pass OGAP on Expert.
For Abandonware, pull a British Museum and just call it 'Preservation.'

my audio lag on pc was 150ms and my video was my response time on my monitor at the time so like 5ms

ahhhh man! Halo MJOLNIR mix as a download, Hier Kommt Alex as a bonus song... I fucking loved GH3 and I still have a lot of the dlc on my 360. I do feel slightly cheated though, only realizing now they apparently had stuff like No Doubt and Dropkick Murphy's as dlc too :D

One of my old Xbox 360 have some downloaded songs on GH3 on it. Only the free ones like the battle ones, Halo theme, I am murloc and We three kings.

GH3 is a really nice engine, at least playing it more than anything. Which honestly Aerosmith just might be what is needed, that is actually great [in comparison] its just gotta enjyo Aerosmith which for me, i like the game. Shame no patch or any kind of backwards engineering happened to try to port some of the A quirks to 3.

I have a sort of vague understanding of why you're saying the charting is bad, but I couldn't put my finger on exactly what's bad about it I'd be interested if you wanted to go in depth and explain for a video!
I'm mostly speaking as someone who just likes rhythm games and music a lot, and not someone with a ton of GH experience, so take what I say with a huge grain of salt!
But from my understanding of it, there's kind of an art to taking a real world guitar performance and translating that down to 5 buttons+strumming. Because the guitar is so much more complicated and chords exist on not just one but two axis (up and down the neck as well as across the strings) there's a good amount of variety in how a chart could choose to represent chords and chord progressions that go beyond the limits of the five buttons.
Charting is also a balancing act between 'accurate' and 'fun', where sometimes you have to trade off accuracy to make the experience more enjoyable and/or less fatiguing. But overall, you're generally aiming for something that's at least intuitive, where the player can roughly guess what the next notes are going to be based on the song. For example, they'll know that if the notes coming up are lower than what you've been playing, they're going to be more to the left. If you're already too far left on the board? You can expect that this new section is going to shift somewhere new (emulating moving your hand on the neck of the guitar) but once established, the following notes will stay consistent for as long as possible.
The problem with a lot of the charts in these videos is that whoever charted them made some really weird decisions that break the implied rules set up by the main and other games. They didn't pick a range to stick to it and will instead just shift around randomly, leading to moments where a note is low in the song but played high on the board out of nowhere, and only for that one note. As a result they're unintuitive and hard to predict, which turns them into a guessing game instead of a test of skill. They also just feel less fun to play, because they don't satisfy the expectations set up by the music. Your brain expects one thing and you give it something totally different, which is frustrating.
Additionally, the songs are often overcharted, which is when the chart has either done a bad job of balancing the fun by focusing too much on accuracy, or the chart requires you to strum more than what is actually even in the song. You end up with an experience that's almost an endurance test where it's hard just for the sake of being hard, and not because it's fun or interesting or compelling.
(Apologies to anyone who knows better than me if anything I've said here is totally off or missing something obvious.)

1. He is playing this on a real but modified Xbox 360
2. If you press green and it strums orange, that means something is wrong with your Guitar Controller, the problem is that the game doesn't pick up your controller as a Guitar, but instead it's just a Standard Controller, on PC you can use program called X360CE
