Solid work! What's the chord at 0:14? CminAdd6? What's the function of that chord? Modal interchange with dorian? I feel like I heard that somewhere...
Ok that's great feedback which is much appreciated :) though I think I am sort of already doing that, it's just I wish I knew what notes go well with another or like chord progressions(?) either way I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later with some more research in theory but it's not so much that I can't play what I want I'm just having trouble knowing/understanding what I'm playing in a technical sense I guess
+Collin Hollinger Oh! Sorry man, I may have misunderstood :) You're right that is more of a theory thing. I'm also trying to understand it better myself.
+Ethan Naidoo thought so and thanks again for actually getting back to me on this :D though are there any songs in particular that you'd recommend for tapping and/or sweeping?
Collin Hollinger I have to work on those things myself. About songs in particular for tapping, I personally think CAFO by Animals as Leaders was super helpful, it starts with a crazy swept riff and certain other sections are predominantly tapped. For sweeping I know Michaelangelo Batio and Yngwie Malmsteen's stuff helped out the most. If you know of any songs or artists that would be helpful to me I'd be keen to check them out :)
I've been playing myself, for a while but haven't committed to learning past songs I wanted to cover, until recently, if you wouldn't mind, what helped you to figure out how to play this sound like I know practicing scales but how to complement something I'm playing with another , I've tried looking up music theory as well but I'm mostly just feeling a tad overwhelmed
+Collin Hollinger That's awesome man! I wish I had the discipline to learn a song from start to scratch. Oh yeah, the tedious scale learning and music theory is a pain but it does help. Apart from that, what helped me was really just listening to the stuff :) It sounds simple but I realized that it's usually the case with any musician. It's almost like "indoctrination" of your art :) It's like if you want your playing to sound like a certain genre then it's best to submerge yourself in it I think. If you take small parts from songs you like and learn that it seems to help mould your playing overall :) For me it's been CHON, Plini, Intervals, Polyphia, Animals as Leaders, Sithu Aye, Chimp Spanner. I hope that helps mate!
What works for me is just listening to bands that I love. I hear riffs in their style and when I put it all together and mix it up it seems to work :) I don't know if there's any sure fire method to composition but that works for me.
I don't have tabs for this unfortunately mate. For the sweeps, it isn't full on sweeps. Sometimes when I need to play 2 notes on a string I use hammer-ons inbetween.
That clean tone is jaw dropping
YES! 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Damn dude, best one yet imo❤️

How'd you come up with this?
Do you have any beginner advice for song writing?

Ethan Naidoo Yeah?
I'll try it out, man. I've never tried writing music before. But I appreciate the advice✨
Yeah😊 Awesome, I hope it helps and works mate!
Bro can i have a copy of backing track? Thanks!
Tabs fren please and any tips to get those sweeps down?

Hey ! Nice sound dude.
What's your tuning ?
Thanks mate! :) I think this was in drop C. Maybe drop Ab, I had this guitar in drop Ab for quite a while.
What guitar are you using?
Carlos Garcia Here it's the Ibanez RG370dx
Tabs?
Hey man
I'm so sorry I don't have any, I'm not too good with tabs, writing or reading.
